[Eimers’ death]
A poster wrote about Charles Eimers being tasered and suffocated to death by police: “People, he was tasered for running from, and resisting, arrest. Calm and rational people, not breaking the law, have never, and will never have a problem with police.” This poster obviously did not watch the video of the event. Eimers drove slowly away from a traffic stop that was probably going downhill fast with nobody watching. He did not run, but surrendered quietly and laid his belly when instructed by police from a distance. This took place in the presence of witnesses on a Key West beach and filmed by those witnesses. He did not struggle until he was handcuffed and tortured by police bullies. You would, too. Watch the video and see if you see any reason for the police brutality that killed this peaceful retiree. Eimers’ death was the subject of CBS this morning. They were wondering why the police didn’t have the second video even after the person who took it tried to get it to them. They never called that person back. The Eimers family finally got the phone number through their lawyer and made one phone call and got the video. CBS showed the video testimony of the cops lying.

[My 2014 Christmas Wish] Please consider writing my friend Linda (her dearest friend+ husband/U.S. Veteran, Terry Bradley passed away this
past year. Since then Linda has been struggling mentally, financially(she can’t work: her back’s been damaged by moving them to seek medical care) & many other ways and could use some extra care/concern getting her through these holidays in such despair.A Christmas card written, or a warm sweater (2X women’s) or jogging pants (men’s x large), or a phone call to help her along, would be the most amazing Christmas you could give me, this year. Linda´s address is High Pointe Apartments, #104, 45 Dardess Drive, Chatham, NY 12037 and formerly of Big Pine Key (305) 394-3782. Please can we overload her mailbox with love, hugs, prayers to keep her going?

Linda cooked for our soldiers a long time as a civilian here at Boca Chica base, Key West, but had to give up the job when her back gave out.  Now broken, in severe pain from them moving cross-country looking for a miracle cure for her husband Terry. RegrettablyTerry Bradley, U.S. vet passed away without the needed transplant on May 4, 2014.
Please can you help Linda now? She needs encouragement due to losing the only friend she had to help her daily pain & struggles. She no longer has a vehicle and she needs help financially. I’m writing this with an aching heart. It’s been too much for her. I am just a close friend, striving to get Linda happy again. She would so appreciate any type of help. Merry Christmas BigPineKey.com and a blessed New Year.

[“Misinformation on the CT”] You neglect to mention that Democrat Barney Frank’s fingerprints are all over the FHA bad mortgage loans. In fact Frank insisted that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not facing any kind of financial crisis. Well, it will cost taxpayers 200 billion in bail outs for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Frank led Congress to pass the Community Reinvestment Act, empowering regulators to punish banks that failed to “meet the credit needs” of “low-income, minority, and distressed neighborhoods.” Lenders responded by loosening their underwriting standards and making increasingly shoddy loans. The two government-chartered mortgage finance firms, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, encouraged this “subprime” lending by authorizing ever more “flexible” criteria by which high-risk borrowers could be qualified for home loans, and then buying up the questionable mortgages that ensued.

All this was justified as a means of increasing homeownership among minorities and the poor. Affirmative-action policies trumped sound business practices. A manual issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston advised mortgage lenders to disregard financial common sense. “Lack of credit history should not be seen as a negative factor,” the Fed’s guidelines instructed. Lenders were directed to accept welfare payments and unemployment benefits as “valid income sources” to qualify for a mortgage.

President Obama’s economic sanctions against Russia (because of it’s invasion of the eastern European country of Ukraine, for you Piners) are working as their economy is tanking.  We are indeed fortunate to have him as our leader. Shoppers are gong crazy in Russia after a catastrophic fall in the value of the ruble, which hit a new low Tuesday despite the Central Bank’s desperate efforts to halt the selling. On the streets of Moscow, panicky consumers rushed out to buy home appliances before they became even more expensive.

2) Forget the present, I didn’t get you one.
[Eimers’ death] Getting a jury to buy attempted murder by cops, especially with credible testimony that Eimers’ heart could go out at any time, even in his sleep, would be a slight deterrent to a conviction for attempted murder. I don’t think the cops actually intended to smother Eimers, but the way they went at it pretty much insured he would smother, and I have no problem seeing them charged with manslaughter. In God’s court, however, Eimers’ death is viewed as murder, because of what was in the cops’ hearts. They had it in for Emiers. And they killed him. And they laughed as they did it. Can you imagine how that went over in God’s court? Can you imagine those cops’ karma? Can you imagine Mayor Cates’ and the six city commissioners’ and Donie Lee’s karma, for not raising bloody hell about what those cops did?

After signing up to find my ancestry online with three different companies, I had to cancel all of them because of their false claims to be a totally free web site. It seems everything you do has a fee attached to it. The best thing was to grab the lists of where they get their information, which most times are free sources, then go on your own to hunt your ancestors and build your own family tree. I do not begrudge them making a living, it is the sleazy back door way they bleed your wallet that pisses me off. In some cases unsolicited advertising spam then start pouring into your mail box.

mexican-food17[“If you think Chico’s is authentic Mexican food, you’ve been in the Keys way too long”]  I lived in Southern California, Southern Arizona and have spent countless time all over Mexico and lived there for a time.  I love Mexican food.  Chico’s may not be Old Mexico, but I find that their food satisfies my cravings.  Their Tacos, Enchiladas, Menudo, Huevos Rancheros and Carne Asado are always good and  close to home. Since I get to Key Wierd about once a week, I enjoy Chico’s for the food, the service with a smile from both my favorite server and the owners who always stop by my table to say “Hello.”  If you don’t like Chico’s, don’t patronize them.  But please, don’t bust my huevos because I do.  Happy Holidays.
I hope that yesterday’s poster who stated that “calm and rational people, not breaking the law, have never, and will never have a problem with police”, submitted their thoughts before the nightly news showed the video of a 76 year old man who was stopped for an inspection sticker and was taken to the ground with a police officer’s arm around his throat and than tasered twice.  All because he attempted to explain to the officer that his car did not need an inspection sticker (which was later confirmed).  We are seeing daily videos on mainstream media of police officers bullying citizens who do not immediately agree with them.  As a society we have already determined that bullying is not socially acceptable, yet many police officers who are paid to serve and protect citizens are seen in videos from around the country routinely bullying victims, often resulting in death or near death.  The Eimers case is just one example that is close to home and the fact that Key West authorities continue to support the actions of their officers in the face of a video that clearly shows that the officers involved lied about their actions and were even told not to pursue Mr. Eimers is very frightening.  I have lived in the Keys for over 50 years and regularly enjoyed visits to Key West.  Yet, although I am white and a senior citizen, I am now frightened of the Key West police and am taking my business to Marathon whenever possible.  I prefer to remain in the jurisdiction of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department who treat the citizens who pay their salaries with respect and consideration. I hope the Eimers’ family wins a big settlement against Key West as these actions will only stop when the counties and cities who support police bullying find their coffers empty. Empty coffers=empty coffins

[“Grinder Pump Easement”] To the poster whose lawyer gave him advise that you do not own your property if you have a mortgage secured by your home is laughable and false. Florida is a lien theory state, not a title theory state. Which means if you have a mortgage secured by your home and default on the loan, the mortgagee (is not me) has to go through foreclosure steps to accelerate the loan amount due (which can take several months) prior to acquiring title and is a time consuming process. It is written in the Mortgage Note that you signed at closing and recorded in the public records where the property is located what happens in the foreclosure process. The title (Warranty Deed) is in the homeowners name and not the bank/lender name. I would ask a real estate lawyer familiar with local real estate law your questions. What is interesting is when this whole sewer fiasco is over and you want to sell your home, the FKAA easement you signed must appear in the title search otherwise the owner of record will have to cure the defect prior to the sale

[“Fines”] Was it someone from Monroe County or someone trolling that defended the excessive fining of a mobile home owner for work done without the permit that he would have been denied. I know at least two professionals (PhD) who live in semi-retirement mobile homes because they like the location and have no need of a bigger or more expensive residence. Everyone that lives in a mobile does not fit the poster’s characterization of what he/she considers “trailer trash”. The fine victim was seriously enhancing the storm resistance and appearance of his mobile by stuccoing it. I can guarantee that any big blow will have more vinyl siding and soffit from cheaply built stilt houses blowing off and down the street than chunks of mobile homes! I have seen plenty of hurricanes and am unaware of any mobile homes having caused damage to a nearby home, but do know of two stilt houses that had the entire roofs fly off down the street in the Keys. I guess the straps did not work so well when exposed to the much higher winds experienced by an elevated house. Check out the two wind generators at the Cudjoe substation on US1 and see which one spins fastest, the higher or the lower one. I am not suggesting that a mobile home is storm-resistant. Far from it. A mobile home is no place to ride out a storm. But mobiles could be replaced fast and cheaply if they are destroyed, and therefore probably make more sense than an elevated modular built home that will take the full brunt of the unobstructed wind. I believe it should be the property owner’s choice and he should be allowed to repair and improve his personal residence without interference from some snotty bureaucrat with an attitude. And no, I don’t rent or live in a mobile, but once did.

[If You Disagree With Me You Must Be New] To the poster who wrote “Trailers and the likes, need to be in Texas, not on $10,000 per square foot Paradise Islands. Drive around and when you see a trashy yard, trailer or house, stop in and you’ll find they are renters and couldn’t give a damn about the neighborhood.” You sir/ma’am are obviously a transplant from somewhere and brought your attitude with you. Apparently you are just like those that have moved to my home town to get a piece of paradise, but you want it changed to what you want it to be, not what it actually is. It is more than obvious this poster knows nothing of old Florida and certainly nothing of the Keys. It was never supposed to be about $10,000 a square foot properties, but simply “come as you are” and enjoy that piece of paradise for the simple life it offers. It is not about getting yours and now wanting it to change If you want that, please go to Boca or Naples or the other swanky areas that have been plowed over by this exact type of mindset. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing with wanting things cleaned up, however I’m quite certain you are one of the newbies and it shows.
duke-of-clarence-drowning
The method of execution of the King’s brother, Clarence, during the War of the Roses was that he was allowed the privilege of choosing what death he should die; and, having an objection to appear on the scaffold, he elected to be drowned in that liquor with which he had so often washed down care and remorse. A butt of Malmsey was accordingly introduced to the gloomy chamber in which he was lodged: and one end of the cask having been knocked out, he was plunged into the wine, with his head down, and held in that position till life was extinct. His body was carried to Tewkesbury, and laid beside that of his duchess in the abbey church. Link

Perhaps it was Bush that signed the $700B bailout. That said let’s look at a primary cause of the crash. It seems that Slick Willy the Impeached former president Clinton & his long time buddy & former financial GOD Allen Greenspan came up with a scheme called the currency modernization act which led to derivatives and NO interest loans and then the house of cards came tumbling down and then the Busmeister was forced to bail out the financial disaster created by the Dems
from the right
A POSTER WROTE: “The misinformation on here is at times staggering. A poster tried to get you to believe that the Democrats were all alone in bailing out the banks at taxpayers expense. Lets be a bit more honest. President Bush signed into law a historic $700 billion bailout of the financial services industry.  “It’s complicated, and we’re going to make sure whatever we do is done in a deliberative fashion,” Bush told reporters after he signed the bill. Under the plan, the Treasury Department was authorized to spend as much as $700 billion to buy bad mortgage-related securities. Bush was not a Democrat, but he did sign the bill.” Now you know the rest of the story which of course will be spun more then your laundry in the next day or so, but in the end Bush did indeed sign into law a $700 billion dollar bailout!

FTR’S RESPONSE: To paraphrase the poster, the lack of knowledge of some posters is sometimes staggering.

bailout17Bush (GW) did sign the original bank bailout bill (TARP). That happened in October of 2008. The House and Senate Democrats voted overwhelmingly for the bill, it passed, GWB signed it. That initial bail out was for a paltry $700 billion. House Democrats voted in favor of bailing out Wall Street banks with TARP by a margin of 172-63. Rank-and-file House Republicans actually opposed the bank bailout 91-108. Had the Democrats not overwhelmingly voted for the bill, it would not have become law.

Then, just a few months later, after Obama became President and with a Democrat controlled Congress, the bailout spending really got serious.

TARP was subsequently dwarfed by other guv-mint guarantees and lending limits. By March 2009, the Democrats had committed $7.77 trillion, that’s trillion with a capital T, to rescuing the foundering financial system, more than half the value of everything produced in the U.S. that year.

The Huffington Post has reported that the actual bailout was $29 trillion.

Even while the bailout was supposedly bailing out our sinking fiscal ship, big bank bonuses were flying, funded with your tax dollars. And with the blessing of the Democrat administration. Nine of the financial firms that were among the largest recipients of federal bailout money paid about 5,000 of their traders and bankers bonuses of more than $1 million apiece for 2008.

Now let’s think about the critic’s statement: “$700 billion to buy bad mortgage-related secure ties.”  We know that it was those “bad mortgages” that caused the meltdown. Ask yourself who was responsible for that.

The answer is simple. Democrats. It was the Democrats who sliced and diced the common sense lending practices that required a prospective borrower from a bank to have the ability to repay the loan. It started in 1977.

The Democrats were the prime movants that began the avalanche of bad mortgages and ultimately the recession. Their first strike was the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Essentially that legislation forced banks to grant mortgages to borrowers who did not have the ability to make the payments. That legislation was passed by a Democrat controlled Congress and was signed by President Jimmy Carter.

Then Barney Frank and Chris Dodd successfully pushed to reduce the mortgage buying standards at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They managed to pass legislation weakening Fannie and Freddie’s buying standards. Before their legislation, all mortgages purchased off the primary market by these two Government Sponsored Enterprises adhered to Federal Housing Administration standards, i.e. they were “prime” loans. But Frank, Dodd, and their cohorts “rolled the dice” in regards to subprime lending, and, in effect, drowned Fannie and Freddie with junk mortgage paper. This began a series of cataclysmic events that eventually crashed the financial system and led to this chaotic period of chronic unemployment and reduced standard of living.

Did I mention that Dodd and Frank are Democrats, and were very powerful Democrat legislators?

Hopefully you will wonder why we have endured the longest recovery from a recession in history, why our unemployment rate is still higher that it was pre-recession, why all of this when the Democrats have spent somewhere between $7.7 and $29 trillion of your tax dollars to bolster our still screwed up economy. The recession has been over since June of 2009. The Democrats have had functional control of our government since 2007. The bailout spending and Democrat management of our economy was another failed experiment in Keynesian economics.

lier17PART 2) A huge tip of the FTR fedora to the poster who gave us the video of the true story on Viet Nam. For all who failed to view yesterday’s video of what really happened in Viet Nam, I urge you to check it out at: Link

PART 3) A journalist heard about a very old Jewish man in Jerusalem who had been going to the Western Wall to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time.  So she went to check it out. She went to the Wall and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site.  She watched him pray and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, using a cane and moving very slowly, she approached him for an interview.
“Pardon me, sir, I’m Rebecca Smith from CNN.  What’s your name?”
Morris Feinberg,” he replied.
“Sir, how long have you been coming to the Western Wall and praying?”
“For about 60 years now.”
“60 years!  That’s amazing!  What do you pray for?”
“I pray for peace between the Jews and the Muslims and the Christians.  I pray for all the wars and all the hatred to stop.  I pray for all our children to grow up safely as responsible adults and to love their fellow man.  I pray that politicians tell us the truth and put the interests of the people ahead of their own interests.”
“How do you feel after doing this for 60 years?”
“Like I’m talking to a f**king wall.”  (Thanks Skipper BB)
