[You’ve Come A Long Way Baby] The British legacy of Queen Victoria in our realm has emasculated the Anglo-Saxon society to the point that men have become sheepish puppy dogs. Women run the roost. Are men really happy platarzan beat chestying second fiddle instead of being the main providers and the alpha male nature created them for? The head of the household has become an exception rather than the rule and women aren’t necessarily better off as a consequence. Inevitably, women lose respect for the man who doesn’t hold his end of the bargain and infidelity becomes rampant.
Western women who are currently being seduced to fight with ISIS are a stark reminder that women weren’t created to be feminists. Try explaining how a 26 old woman would want to marry Charles Manson, a convicted killer or a fanatical terrorist in Paris. Yes, men tend to want to command and women seek to control but men in our society who encourage their women to degrade themselves with tattoos certainly can’t claim to be real men. Parading them naked in the streets of Key West during Fantasy Fest doesn’t make other men jealous as much as to bring pity for the poor schmuck who falls for such exhibitionists.

handcuffed[Big Pine Crime] A traffic stop search turned up 67 grams of marijuana, Oxycodone and drug paraphernalia. Neither the driver, David Lucia, 33, of Virginia, nor his passenger, Amber Nolan, 30, of Big Pine Key, had a prescription for the medication.

Note to stupid lawbreakers: Don’t carry drugs for resale if your vehicle and trailer both have expired license plates. It seems to me that Big Pine, with so few people living here, has more than it’s share of crime.

[Part Time Jobs?] The latest jobs report that says employment is at its highest since 1999 (or something like that). FTR dismisses the good news because so many of those jobs were part time. It would also means that Obama is doing a good job and Obama did save the economy. Big Oil and FTR’s support of the Keystone pipeline is based on the line that it will create jobs. I don’t fee like looking up the facts, but I seem to remember that only about 50 or 500 full time jobs will be created after all is done. Even 500 jobs is not enough to justify the damage the pipeline will do to the environment. Okay, seeing how political conservatives aren’t too concerned with the environment let’s consider something they are concerned about. How about the damage the pipeline will cause to the railroads who will lose billions of dollars from lost business transporting that same oil. Those railroads will be laying off full time workers.

[“Eric Garner’s Death”] FTR has the same information as the public does, yet he agrees with his fellow cops that Eric Garner died of a heart attack. All murdered people die of a heart attack — or heart failure — whatever you want to call it; the Medical Examiner calls it homicide. The Medical Examiner said Eric Garner’s death was a homicide — a homicide at the hands of the police.

I’ve observed FTR’s inability to change his mind about anything. His loyalties are to his detriment and the general population’s since he’s gone public on the CT.

[Socialism] In a refreshingly powerful and direct statement, Venezuela’s bishops Monday blamed “Marxist socialism” and “communism” by name for the horrors and chaos gripping their country, according to a story in El Universal. The bishops said the long lines of people trying to buy food and other basic necessities and the constant rise in prices are the result of the government’s decision to “impose a political-economic system of socialist, Marxist or communist,” which is “totalitarian and centralist” and “undermines the freedom and rights of individuals and associations.” The Venezuelan bishops specifically stated that the private sector was critical for the well being of the country. The document, read by Monsignor Diego Padron in Spanish, said the country needs “a new entrepreneurial spirit with audacity and creativity.”

So not only did these bishops diagnose the cause of the misery correctly; they also warned that socialism harms the poor most of all. So much for Jesus was a socialist!

[Pot Holder] I’ve been looking for a simple pot holder in my travels. All I can find are fancy ones with pockets or they come with a towel. I just want a thick, square pot holder. I wish I had kids so they could make me one from those colorful cloth loops we used to make pot holders with when we were kids. There was a frame that you’d hook the ends of the cloth on to and weave through another piece until the frame was filled. Then you’d loop all the remaining loop ends all around the square to finish it.

[FTR] Just so I can wrap my head around this, let me see how I interpreted FTR. When he was a police officer (crossing guard) FTR was anti-union and only went to one meeting, calling it a waste of time a bitch session. Now he now backs the union in the homicide chocking of Eric Garner. I guess that the wind changes direction about as often as his mind.
There are many professions who delude the population that they are clean by telling everyone that they police themselves and don’t need outsiders investigating them. Look how hard the Police pushed against the creation of the Citizen Review Board in Key West. I’m sure that FTR will agree with the police. Ask him how many times he reported a fellow officer for breaking the law. The answer will probably be zero. After a long career in law enforcement I’ll bet he never reported anyone for the crimes he knew or suspected his comrades of doing.
As he sits in his chair in the Keys he has determined that Eric Garner wasn’t choked to death. He saw the same video as us,  but disregards the choking as the cause and says that Garner died from a heart attack. This may have been the ultimate cause of death, but the chocking was what caused the heart attack. That is probably why the Medial Examiner also listed the death as a homicide.
Oh well, tomorrow FTR’ll say something else and tell us that what he meant was the opposite of what he said and that he was right and we just read it wrong.
glock firing[Gun Costs] I stopped in to a local gun shop to look at a new handgun for my home. I asked the dealer how much a 9MM Glock was. He picked one up and pointed it at me and said, “Give me your money, honey! That’s how much!” Scared the bejesus out of me, but he made his point!
[Confidence] I think it is interesting that a study shows that dumb people are more confident than intelligent ones. Could it be that this is why women are attracted to confident men? Control?

greaseclog3The letter from Dump the Pumps to the new Secretary of the DEP, linked in the last couple of CTs, has focused on one aspect of faulty design that will certainly cause catastrophic failure in a few years — inadequate scouring velocity. How bad is it? I looked at the DEP permit application for Big Pine Key South that is one of the permits that Dump the Pumps, Inc has spent several tens of thousands of dollars contesting in court. Not counting the many side streets that have inadequate velocity, just the trunk forcemains have 13,804′ of pipe with a peak velocity of between 2.0 and 2.5 ft/sec and another 11,791′ of pipe that does not even achieve a peak velocity of 2.0 ft/sec . One 998′ length of pipe is stated as having a peak velocity of only 1.1 ft/sec. Yet the engineer attested that all pipes were designed to have a minimum 2.0 ft/sec. This design has about 4.8 miles of forcemain on Big Pine south, alone, that will plug up along main roads. Nobody’s crap goes anywhere if they are upstream of the blockage, and repairs will take weeks. The other thing is that if the pipe plugs, the positive displacement E-1 grinder pumps that the entire system utilizes will pump to obscene pressures until something breaks to relieve the pressure. Then all the other pumps will push their raw sewage to the break. It will not be pretty. That’s when the Florida Keys finally makes national headlines, but not as a great place to vacation. I think there is a link to this permit on the Dump the Pumps, Inc. website, and it is posted on the DEP Oculus system. Dump the Pumps much appreciates any financial or other support that people provide. Link  Also, please contact any official or politician who needs to take this situation seriously.

pontius-pilate14[Western Vacillation] The Christian tradition of turning one’s cheek or the “one man one vote” at the ballot box is being usurped and challenged to the breaking point. For now, most westerners are happy to look the other way or to go into hiding. They are desperately trying to dodge the bullet and are happy to let others take the lead in the clash of civilizations. Just like in the days of Pontius Pilate, folks wash their hands clean while they desperately seek a modern day Jesus Christ to expiate for their sins. Once he serves their purposes, they abandon him to Roman soldiers to torture an crucify him. History does indeed repeat itself as citizen soldiers are few and far in between. Regrettably, vastly superior birth rates in the Muslim world is quickly overtaking the ballot box and western society government largesse.
[Part Time Jobs?] Heck, lets let the C.T. readers make up their own minds concerning the Keystone pipeline jobs that will be created. FTR said that thousands of new jobs will be created here in America and will be sustained. Do the research readers and pick any non partisan, mainstream website and read about how many jobs this portion of the Keystone pipeline will employ in America working full time for the duration of its history when its completed.
Then ask yourself, was the claim of thousands working full time on the pipeline when the pipeline is finished honest?

[Special Treatment] In the U.K and indeed throughout Europe, Muslim communities refuse to integrate while “no-go” zones multiply within major cities across the country where the police dare not patrol. Shari’a law already prevails there because the Muslim community in those areas refuses to acknowledge or to impose the law of the land. Integration of Islamic enclaves becomes next to impossible, not only because they are radically different but also because their law prohibits it.

[“Dry cleaners”] I  hadn’t realized until yesterday, when someone was looking for one, that almost all of the dry cleaners are out of business. I guess with all the modern fabrics there’s little need any more and there’s not many of us who have to wear suits and top coats down here. Also I’ll bet the EPA is all over the dry cleaners for their disposal of the chemicals they use. That’s got to be expensive.

manchurian-candidate14The western tradition of appeasement has a well worn out track record. From Gandhi to Chamberlain, to Mandela, to Obama, the thread is unmistakably similar. A Manchurian candidate is found, propped up to stardom and used to lull masses into a false sense of equanimity. Unfortunately, something went awry with Obama, as his Muslim and community organizing pasts are working at cross purposes to effective, cross cultural, governance.

British diplomat Chamberlain may have been well intentioned when he signed a peace treaty with Hitler. However, British complacency brought about the bombing of London, as the Nazis took Chamberlain’s kowtowing as a sign of weakness. In a similar vein, our prolonged accommodation and appeasement of Muslims at large is not only not being respected but is likely to invite further incursions, challenges to our core values and elbow spreading in our midst. Meanwhile, the Muslim enclaves continue seeking to link themselves and are metastasizing the remaining landscape.

Once again the fool who currently occupies the White House has shown is ignorance and contempt for our allies by not attending, or at least sending a delegate in his place, to show our solidarity with France after the horrific Muslim jihad terrorist attack.  Obama’s spin doctors are saying Kerry was in India and security was a concern for the Pres himself.  Bull s**t.  Although the huge snub was seen by the world, it is doubtful that countries, including France will hold it against us.  They all know Obama to be a spineless buffoon, far out of his element, incapable of true leadership and an Islamic sympathizer.  Bringing shame to our great nation has become a hallmark of his administration.
That said, cool-it with this “Muslims are exempt” stupidity. There is nothing in the legislation that exempts any specific religious denomination from Obamacare.

OK Obamacare loving libtard. Explain this.

I went to https://www.healthcare.gov/fees-exemptions/exemptions-from-the-fee/ and found the following below. If you look past your rose colored glasses to *** on the list it says: “You’re a member of a recognized religious sect with religious objections to insurance, including Social Security and Medicare”

While not religion”specific”; Muslims consider insurance usury and they are exempt from paying “the fee”, which is really “a tax” according to the Supreme Court. Muslims are EXEMPT from the law as are the Amish. That said MUSLIMS in the U.S.A. will get Obamacare FREE thanks to you, not so much thanks to me. I also listed the hardships so it’s all out in the open.

It also says if you’re not in the country LAWFULLY you don’t have to sign up either. That’s because ILLEGALS here UNLAWFULLY have been getting FREE medical for decades in the U.S.A.

From healthcare.gov:

Exemptions from the payment

If you don’t have minimum essential coverage, you may qualify for an exemption from the penalty if any of the following apply to you. Learn how to apply for any of these exemptions.

You’re uninsured for less than 3 months of the year
The lowest-priced coverage available to you would cost more than 8% of your household income
You don’t have to file a tax return because your income is too low (Learn about the filing limit (PDF))
You’re a member of a federally recognized tribe or eligible for services through an Indian Health Services provider
You’re a member of a recognized health care sharing ministry
***You’re a member of a recognized religious sect with religious objections to insurance, including Social Security and Medicare
You’re incarcerated (either detained or jailed), and not being held pending disposition of charges
You’re not lawfully present in the U.S.
You qualify for a hardship exemption. Learn more about hardship exemptions.

If any of the following circumstances apply to you, you may qualify for a “hardship” exemption from the penalty:

You were homeless
You were evicted in the past 6 months or were facing eviction or foreclosure
You received a shut-off notice from a utility company
You recently experienced domestic violence
You recently experienced the death of a close family member
You experienced a fire, flood, or other natural or human-caused disaster that caused substantial damage to your property
You filed for bankruptcy in the last 6 months
You had medical expenses you couldn’t pay in the last 24 months that resulted in substantial debt
You experienced unexpected increases in necessary expenses due to caring for an ill, disabled, or aging family member
You expect to claim a child as a tax dependent who’s been denied coverage in Medicaid and CHIP, and another person is required by court order to give medical support to the child. In this case, you don’t have the pay the penalty for the child.
As a result of an eligibility appeals decision, you’re eligible for enrollment in a qualified health plan (QHP) through the Marketplace, lower costs on your monthly premiums, or cost-sharing reductions for a time period when you weren’t enrolled in a QHP through the Marketplace
You were determined ineligible for Medicaid because your state didn’t expand eligibility for Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act
Your individual insurance plan was cancelled and you believe other Marketplace plans are unaffordable
You experienced another hardship in obtaining health insurance

Rather than espouse your dreams of an ObamaCare panacea, read the .gov website and then the Quran. Educate yourself on what’s coming to a major city near you and prepare to pay their way. Allahu Akbar

hero14ON MONDAY A CRITIC WROTE complaining that my Friday, 1/09 posting concerning the NYPD was “shameful”. He condemned the acts of the NYPD as being a “work slowdown.” The critic suggested that the posting reflected my “approval” of the conundrum faced by NY Mayor Di Blasio and the NYPD. Di Blasio and the liberals have consistently criticized the NYPD as being too aggressive. Now Di Blasio complains that the officers are not aggressive enough. A conundrum of Di Blasio’s making. The critic actually wrote that the NYPD officers “look like a bunch of babies.”

FTR’S RESPONSE:  The facts are simple, Di Blasio and like thinkers have been very, very critical of what they deem to be overly aggressive police conduct. Conduct that protects you and society.  In this case, the NYPD cops have simply stopped being as aggressive as they were in the past. That’s not a work slowdown, it’s simply the cops acquiescing to the will of the liberals and Di Blasio. They wanted kinder and gentler police activity. They got it.

By the way, the critic is a cop basher. His comment that “This is proof that the police believe they can live by a different set of rules.” Is proof positive of his animus toward cops.

It’s no secret that I’m a believer that unions, especially police unions, are contrary to the public good. In this case however, I can find no evidence whatsoever that the police union president ordered a work slowdown. There are no police union demands for money, benefits, or anything else. I believe that the kinder and gentler NYPD style of policing that we now see is a reasonable personal decision made by each officer who chooses to so do.

Here’s what police Sgts. Union President Ed Mullins said in a news conference: “Going forward, for members of the NYPD, we want you to do your job and follow the rule book the way it’s written.”

Even Police Commish Bill Bratton said he did not know of any coordinated attempt to slowdown the work of the department.

Deer Friends, cops and other first responders, at severe risk to themselves, tackle problems that are grave dangers to individuals and to society itself. They deserve the respect of all of us. Ask yourself if you would intentionally run towards a mortally dangerous situation. Most of you would flee. Cops and firefighters run toward danger each and every day.

On a personal note to the critic: The next time you or your loved ones are the victim of a crime or are in danger, I suggest you call the ACLU or Ian J. Whitney, who is Chairperson & State Committeeperson of the Democrat Party here in Monroe County.

repubublican elephant stars stripesPART 2) You might be a Republican if:

*You believe that the role of government is to provide the governed with those critical functions that cannot be provided by the individual or private organizations.

*You believe the government that governs best, governs least. And that the most effective, most responsible, and most responsive government is government closest to the governed.

*You believe that we Americans must retain and respect the principles that have forged our great nation, while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

*You believe that Americans value and must preserve our national strength and pride while always working and seeking to extend peace, freedom, and human rights throughout the world.

If you believe that those values are the cornerstone for responsible and responsive government. And, if you believe that our great nation can endure only if those principles guide our way, then you probably are a Republican.
