The paragraph below is quoted from an FKAA reply to a letter of inquiry from an Eden Pines resident. Note the last line! Do not think you are off the grinder pump hook just because they said so! It sounds as if it may all be a con job to keep you quiet until they stick it to you.

“The Eden Pines subdivision is one of the areas the County Commission decided to include in the change from lower pressure sewer to gravity. However, I caution that these areas identified by the County still need to be redesigned and priced by the contractor. This pricing will still need to come in favorable for the change to materialize.”

Keep it simple for them by demanding the elimination of all unwelcome grinder pumps on private property. They do not need to be individual pumps (one pump can handle several homes), and they certainly do not need to be on your lot. Calling your representatives is great. [Do you want a new sewer Mister?] No one, at any time came to my home and asked me if I wanted a new sewer system for my home. No one sent me a letter asking me if I wanted a new sewer system for my home. All I know is that this sewer scam is being shoved down my throat. Who’s idea was it to begin with this sewer concept? Was there ever a town hall meeting in which we had a vote to go ahead with this sewer plan? If there was, did the residents of Monroe County vote in favor of this sewer plan?

Because, if this didn’t take place, then who the hell are they to make this decision for us, and then force us to have to pay good money, that most of us don’t have? What if we all decide not to pay for the sewer hookups to our homes? What are they going to do? Are they going to fine us? What if we all refuse to pay the fines? Are they going to take our homes away, or take us all to jail? I say, enough is enough!

We need to really think about this. It’s time to clean house on all politicians. Even our local ones. It seems that they come up with the most inconsiderate ideas, and then we’re the ones who have to pay for it. Just like this $24 billion hole we’re in because of their government shutdown. Who do you think is going to end up getting stuck with paying for that tab? Yet it was their decision, right? If it was the decision of the County or State to go ahead with the sewer system, then they should pay for it.

Isn’t this sewer scam also going to raise all of our monthly water rates too? What about the road repairs after the sewer-lines are buried? It seems that we will be spending money we don’t have, and in return, we really don’t benefit from anything. The only ones benefiting from this (stuffing their pockets) are the people in charge, the contractors and the water dept. Just like always. Why don’t we hire a private attorney to fight this scam on our behalf? We can all contribute some out of pocket cash and hire this attorney. If we continue to let them mandate to us, what will be next? They are supposed to work for us. Does anyone agree with me?

[Circumcision] A long time ago Jews didn’t know about cleanliness so males didn’t wash under their foreskins. Their thingys got infected so the head Jews decreed that all males would be circumcised. That ended the infections. That’s why Jews snip the end off of boy’s thingy even though they know about cleanliness now. It’s a stupid and ignorant custom to mutilate anyone for superstitious or traditional reasons. There is no point to the practice except superstition. You don’t get any spiritual benefit by being  mutilated.

I had a beehive on the side of my house and I called the bee guy who used to advertise here, but he wouldn’t come look at it (even though it’s right near his house) and he wouldn’t give me a price to remove it either. He wanted me to buy a pig in a poke. I called the Miami bee people and they said they just kill the bees. So that’s what I did. I went to Winn Dixie and bought a $5 can of hornet spray and the hive was gone in 10 minutes.

I didn’t want to kill them, but I didn’t want to be at the mercy of someone who wouldn’t give me a price or come look at the hive. It’s too bad we now have one less hive in the Keys.

We’ve been doing business with China Garden for over 12 years through dine in, delivery, or take out. Our recent experiences (last 6/8 mos.) have been less than desirable. Last evening on our way back to town from a trip, I called for pick up. It seems taking the order is an issue. The food was ready as promised. The food was the worst I have ever had. Chicken was certainly left over, reheated, bland (when I asked for spicy) and some bites tasted spoiled. We threw it all out. Worst is that if I called to complain, it seems no one would care. [Mistrust Abounds] The Cudjoe Wastewater area is the last to be serviced because we do not have enough business in this area to line the pockets of our county Commissioners. Mr. Nugent has be on the commission for at least 15 of the past 20 years sewers have been on the table. He and all the other commissioners already have sewers. There is no sympathy there. He is coming out smelling like a rose as he folded, over the Cudjoe Key grinder pump issue. Must be an election in the near future.

I called my old hometown, that was putting in sewers almost 30 years ago, as I wanted some data on grinder pumps. I told them that I grew up there and was wondering how it worked with them. They told me that they have no grinder pumps in the whole district which is quite large, but condensed. He asked me where I was calling from and I said FL. He said, “You must be in the Keys.”

They know about our fiasco 1500 miles away. He did say that one reason they do not have grinder pumps is that they have some pipes 40 feet deep in the ground, which helps the gravity system.

Has Ms. Murphy informed us on how many grinder pumps are used in her district?

[I Told You so] I see many of the democrats are joining the republicans that wanted Obamacare postponed for a year.I see over 60% of Americans feel Obamacare is a joke. I see the most unqualified, inept,incompetent administration is working day and night to spin this as a glitch. Americans are becoming very aware that government is not capable of running our health care. I also understand the that the Supreme Court of the U.S. of A. will be hearing several cases on the constitutionality of Obama care. I also see the Tea Party worked very hard to warn America that is would happen.

Thanks for the information concerning “foresight”. I don’t think its only a Liberals issue however does the term “There will be parades in Iraq for our President” sound familiar? That foresight was brought forth well before the war even took shape.

Our left fielders really should pay more attention to the truth than to the leftist propaganda of MSNBC. On Wednesday a poster echoed MSNBC’s suggestion that only a few vets had showed up for the “Million Vet” march on 10/13.  It’s true that that there were not millions of vets attending, but thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of vets did. Wednesday’s poster also stated that the Million Vet march was the handiwork of the Tea Party. The poster was either purposefully lying or was simply too dull to check the facts. The organizers of the march, spoke out against Cruz, et al, for interfering with the message of the vets. Link

The 10/13 Million Vet march was not a Tea Party event, it was an event by and for vets.  It was well attended.

The media and the left have done all in their considerable power to vilify and denigrate the Tea Party thinkers. I consider myself a Republican, a Republican with deeper conservative values than some.  What follows is a compilation of what this Olde Fart believes to be the principles of the Tea Party. Our government has grown too big and too intrusive, it must be reined in and downsized. Congress must not pass any law that exempts themselves from its provisions.
1.   Our government is the servant of those who are governed. There should be no career politicians, each and every elected government official should be term limited.
2.    We must curtail our spending, we must find a path back to a balanced budget.
3.    The Second Amendment is as sacrosanct as any of the other 10 Amendments to our Constitution that make up our Bill of Rights.
4.    The government’s first and most important role is to guarantee our national security.
5.    In order to return to prosperity, we must cut business and personal income taxes. We must redistribute not wealth but the knowledge, skills, and ambition that it takes to produce wealth. History is full of examples of regimes attempting to redistribute wealth, but resulted in only redistributing poverty.
6.    We must secure our borders. English should be our national language.
7.    We must promote the personal and family values that enabled us to become a great nation. Personal responsibility must be promoted.  We must facilitate and promote free enterprise.
8.    We must hew to our founders beliefs that while no one is guaranteed “success”, everyone is guaranteed the right to strive to succeed to the limits of their ability and their ambition.
9.   We must provide a societal safety net for those few Americans who are unable to properly care for themselves.
