Why don’t cats fart? Dog do. Elephants surely do ( I was riding one and when it farted the rumble almost knocked me off its back!). Why not cats? I want to know
an_cheetahWho should I report seeing a strange animal to? I had turned out of the Winn Dixie parking lot going toward the stop light and there was a solid black cat-looking animal sitting in the middle of the road. When it shot of into the woods toward the CVS store, that’s when I was stupefied by what I had just seen. The animal ran as if it’s back legs were the shape a rabbit’s or kangaroo’s rear legs are shaped. It had a humped back or mid section, it was shaped and looked like a cat, but a little larger than a regular house cat. One other feature the animal had that reaffirmed that what I saw was not a cat, well not a house cat anyway. It’s tail was at least twice as long as a normal cat’s tail, and it had the same curvature to the tail as a cheetah’s tail. The tail drooped down and only the last bit of its tail curved back up and it was long, very long.It happened so fast I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of it, but that thing, whatever it was, was the oddest looking animal I’ve ever seen. It ran like a rabbit, but it was fast, real fast. Because it was gone in a split second. It’s description was like this: Solid black in color, body shaped like a cat, back had a humped center section, rear legs like a rabbit, ran like a rabbit, it had a tail twice as long as a house cat’s tail and had the same basic attitude as a cheetah’s tail.

If you hear of them getting pictures of anything like that please post a picture of whatever animal it turns about to be. I’d really like to know what it was!

[Sewers] There are a large numbers of two species of federally endangered plants, mainly Deltoid Spurge but also Evolvulus grisebachii, that will be destroyed by the FKAA pipeline route on Key Deer Boulevard. Hard to believe that environmental concerns — from unstudied impacts on the island’s freshwater lens to endangered species — are being ignored on such a large-scale project. This is the stuff of the old Concrete Coalition of the 1980s
[Medical Pot] Kudos to The Citizen for the Editorial today supporting the legalization of medical marijuana.

The gun control crowd was out in full force in yesterday’s C.T. One stated that he feared the Tea Partier who knows what was best for him. I, for one Tea Partier, certainly do not know what is best for you, however I do know what is best for me. I will never sit still while some one tries to dictate what rights I should have or not have. I have never met a Second Amendment advocate that has tried to force a gun into an unwilling person’s hand. However the gun ban crowd is constantly trying to take my right to defend myself and my family from me. The tea party has nothing to do with shooting in the neighborhoods of the Lower Keys. By the way I did not hear a peep from the same people when the Sanctuary people announced that they would be discharging weapons in the very same neighborhood.

[Homophobe Japanese] Nintendo is apologizing and pledging to be more Inclusive after being criticized for not recognizing same-sex relationships In English editions of a life-simulator video game. But the publisher said It was too late to change the game. Nintendo came under fire from fans and gay rights organizations this past week after refusing to add same-sex relationship options to the game “Tomodachi Life.”

Florida needs a State vehicle inspection program badly. Some of the junkers rolling around this state are death traps waiting to run over some body! There should be a national standard for this, not just locals dictating the rules. I think our insurance costs would drop a lot.

Florida Keys Community College has entered into a formal agreement with the Good Health Clinic, which will now serve as an official educational facility for future nurses.Amber Champion is the first graduate to benefit from the new partnership. Amber worked at the nonprofit free clinic for course credit during the spring semester under the direction of preceptor Sharon Calvert, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Champion is now eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, having graduated with her Associate in Science Degree in Nursing on May 9.

“Working at the Good Health Clinic, I got to see many conditions close-up that I had never seen before, and would not have the opportunity to see otherwise,” Champion said. She is employed at Pruett Dermatology in Islamorada, and plans to continue work there as a Registered Nurse.

The Good Health Clinic serves over 600 Upper Keys residents and employees who document household income at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty level, but are unable to qualify for Medicaid. Sponsored in part by Baptist Health South Florida, the nonprofit clinic receives no state or federal funding. To learn if you may qualify to become a patient, call the Good Health Clinic at 853-1788 or visit Link

The idea about using a coin to get a shopping cart then have to bring the cart back to retrieve your coin is great. All markets should use this system. So the cart guy has less to do, so what?

One must question the reasoning power of those elements of our society that believe that their is no reason really for one to ever logically kill any thing , we are referencing to the topic of gun control here, ones family, innocent citizen, or a myriad of other sorts may be confronted by some crazed person threatening extremely dire actions, and said person may be totally physically able to carry out his threats, unless some one their has the means to somehow stop the person, now wouldn’t this logically be a suitable reason to carry a tool that could stop this person if he moved to carry out his dastardly threats?

Dump the Pumps, Inc. never had a membership roster until about 2 hours before they filed against the Big Pine Key sewer construction permit and their lawyer said they needed some official members. An email went out to the 350+ people on the email list and 36 replied quickly enough to count them as official members. That is the number of members that went on the permit protest. FKAA executive director Kirk Zuelch then mocked the group on US1 Radio as only having 36 members. Never mind that over 1,450 people have signed the petition against grinder pumps. There is now a membership sign-up page on the group’s website http://dumpthepumps.com and all who care about the absolutely disastrous system that FKAA intends to install are encouraged to sign on so that the group will not look like just a few people whining. Thanksfor helping to make a difference

creature_from_the_black_lagoon
[Creature] I have spotted many weird and unusual creatures on Ramrod Key; the area where they seem to congregate is around or in the Little Tiki just after sunset. The Big Tiki across the street is also a good place to observe strange wildlife, but only during the winter season and holidays. You can take photos of this wildlife, but never point at them or offer food; and never take one home. It is rumored that some inebriated locals have attempted to mate with these creatures — not a good idea.

[World Cuisine] There is a old Chinese expression: “A man becomes the substance he consumes!” (You are what you eat). So with that thought in mind look closely at each country and what the inhabitants eat. Then tell me where you would like to live!
A local lower Keys weekly newspaper had an editorial concerning outdoor gun ranges.  Was the editor for or against outdoor gun ranges in his neighborhood, yes or no?

[Florida Keys Monitor Lizard] After exhaustive studies it is settled, no more building permits will be issued on Ramrod Key as this would endanger the rare Florida Keys Monitor Lizard. It has been determined that roaming kitty cats have all but eradicated the species that is specific only to the Florida Keys. Reports are that the population has dwindled to only one Florida Keys Monitor Lizard left on the island.

dna11Friday’s Poster stated the Key Deer are not endangered based upon (1) satellite imagery show their numbers exceed 1,000 and (2) their DNA exactly matches that of the Virginia White Tail Deer.I believe their numbers exceed 1,000, but can you please provide us with a hyperlink or source for that statement as well a hyperlink or verifiable source regarding your statement that they “exactly match the DNA of the Virginia White Tail Deer”.

Thanks, as I would love to review documentation on the subject

Havana is home to a large Chinese population.  The entrance to Chinatown is called “Puerta de China.”  The food in the restaurants is excellent
[“Big Cats”] There must be more than one cat. A few weeks ago I saw a big cat running down a key deer near the ball field. It did not look like the picture of a few days ago. It was not a domesticated cat, unless it was Ryan Braun’s. A few months ago I heard about a big cat getting hit on Cudjoe.

Well it looks like the property flippers are sucking around the Keys again. Some of the low rent properties that are in foreclosure or in such bad shape no one wants them are being snapped up by flippers with too much money in their pockets. Like a few years ago, these flippers want instant profit and could care less who they resell to or how they ruin a neighborhood with undesirables! If you value your home and hood be careful who you let into the area! It is your life that can be ruined instantly!

[Captain doom and Gloom] We have Citizens Ins and just got a letter explaining how the rates could go up 43% if they get hit with too many claims after a storm. What it boils down to is that if they are not in the black and need more monye to pay off claims they can up it to whatever they need from all policy holders. This reminds me of the old gangster movies where the car comes by your house and Molotov’s the joint because you did not pay the ‘insurance’, capisce? Link

White-House-Solar-Panels
[Solar White House] Technicians have finished installing solar panels on the White House roof, capping a project that President Barack Obama hopes will send a signal that renewable energy is feasible and environmentally shrewd. President Carter first installed panels but Republicans oppose alternate energy, so when Bush was elected he had the panels removed. Video
I almost fell off my chair when I read Putin’s quote, “Negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, shits on the board and then struts around like it won the game.”
Arguing with the Tea Party is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good your argument the pigeon is going to knock all the pieces over, crap all over the board and strut around like it’s victorious.
from the right
mothers day rose bloomsHappy Mother’s day to all. And special condolences to the mothers of the four Americans who were murdered in Benghazi by terrorists on 9/11/12Part1) If you are a liberal or lean liberal, the odds are that you are convinced that the Democrats and Team Obama have done an excellent job of governing.

Just for fun, let’s think about some of the more recent accomplishments of Team Obama.

Certainly every liberal will remember the bad old days of Nixon and his use of the IRS as a weapon of political intimidation. Obama has followed in Tricky Dickies fetid footsteps. Unless you are totally out of touch, you now know that the IRS is the subject of a huge Congressional investigation.  That investigation has revealed that the IRS did in fact target a specific political foe of Obama, for no other reason than to intimidate them. Criminal charges are a real likelihood.

Please recall that the IRS was making bizarre and improper demands of certain political action groups, they were demanding donor lists, minutes of meetings, and copies of internal memos that had nothing to do with income.

Now, we’ve just learned that the IRS used those donor lists, they used them to harass the donors. Records have revealed that fully 10% of people who donated to conservative political action committees were audited by the IRS. The national average for audits is @1% of taxpayers.  The major media have ignored this amazing scandal. Had GWB’s IRS conducted similar audits of left wing political donors, the media would have been apoplectic. And they would have been right.

They Democrats claim to be vigilant watch dogs of our tax dollars, but their record proves them to be lap dogs. The Inspector General of the EPA has just released a report that chronicles the activities of those vigilant protectors of our environment. The Office of Inspector General began looking only after the 2013 conviction of senior agency official for collecting paychecks for more than a decade during which he had not worked. The senior EPA official had stolen nearly a million in benefits and pay by not even showing up. How is that possible? He told his boss that he was on secret missions for the CIA.

Then there is the case of an EPA supervisory official who watched between 2 and 6 hours per day of porn on his slippery government computer. He is earning $120K per year, he’s still on the payroll.

But wait, there’s more: Another EPA manager separately let an employee collect full pay and benefits without reporting to work, costing more than $500,000. The manager approved exemplary performance appraisals, the absent employee got a bonus.

It’s not just the EPA, as we were sinking into its worst financial crisis in more than 70 years, Security and Exchange Commission employees and contractors cruised porn sites and viewed sexually explicit pictures using government computers. At least 33 high ranking staffers who make as much as $223K were involved. A regional office staff accountant tried to access pornographic websites nearly 1,800 times, using her SEC laptop during a two-week period. She also had about 600 pornographic images saved on her laptop hard drive.

Separately, a senior attorney at SEC headquarters admitted to downloading pornography up to eight hours a day, according to the investigation. The problem seems endemic. Our Missile Defense agency was involved as was the National Science Foundation, the Transportation Security Administration,” the “U.S. State Department,” the “Pentagon,” and “Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Deer Friends, does this impress you as sound oversight, management, of federal employees? Did our employees in the government feel “entitled?”

Part 2) Obama and Crist certainly seem to soul brothers in that they know not the truth. At a recent speech Obama claimed that the Republicans had “filibustered” 500 items of legislation. It is an old tired piece of slanderous Democrat campaign rhetoric that falsely labels the Republicans as being the party of “no” and the enemy of the poor. Obama hit it out of the Prevaricators Park on that one. The Washington Post did fact checking and stamped the claim as being a 4 Pinocchio lie, WaPo’s most damning label for liars. I urge you to read their entire column, it is revealing.  Link

Here’s what some news outlets are saying about Runaway Charlie:

The Washington Post: “Charlie Crist Didn’t Leave The Republican Party Because Of Racism. He Left It Because He Couldn’t Win A Primary.” The Tampa Bay Times: “Rubio: Even Democrats Will Be ‘Embarrassed’ By Crist”Sunshine State News: “Charlie Crist Hits GOP On Race But Was Singing A Different Song In 2010”

Sorry Charlie, only the best get to be the big tuna-

Part 3) Perhaps you remember Mr. Obama, Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Reid, and the entire boys and girls liberal chorus belting out their anthem that the sequester would cost tens of thousands of jobs, perhaps as much as 1.2 million jobs.  Well, now we know what actually happened. After all that handwringing, pulling of hair, and wails of woe, a Team Obama’s government accountability office reports that only the U.S. Parole Commission in the Department of Justice ‘implemented a reduction in force of one employee to achieve partial savings required by sequestration in fiscal year 2013.’  One job, one job only. How on earth, can our liberal friends continue to believe in and trust the Democrats?

A POSTER WROTE: “FTR,

“Of course Hillary should be held accountable!  However, did you ever see Clintonites admit to an error, personal or official?

The key is to having DOD do a probe as to what military assets were available; how quickly they could have been brought to bear against the terrorists in Benghazi;  and, most importantly, why was the call for help not only ignored but an order NOT TO HELP was given.  That was part and parcel of the testimony in front of Congress by the staff who survived the ordeal.  Ironically, the #2 at the Consular Facility was a democrat and he pulled no punches during the hearings.

Should Leon Panetta be arraigned, he, and only he, can pull down the mask from the spinmasters within the current administration because he likely followed orders.  It is highly unlikely that he would have acted on his own without consent from above or from State…”

FTR’s RESPONSE: There are so many unanswered questions in this tragedy, that we might never know the entire truth. I know the threat of imprisonment is a mighty weapon in the hands of a good prosecutor.  The Select Committee seems very competent, and I suspect (and hope) that there will be little or no speechifying or politicking. Gowdy strikes me as a take no prisoner’s prosecutor. Personally I feel that DOD is a player in the tragedy and would be unable to do a fair and impartial investigation.  I believe that the Select Committee will find a weak link and break the chain of lies. It might be necessary to grant immunity to one or more underlings to get to the truth. It sure looks like Panetta bears a heavy burden of guilt in this mess, but honestly, I suspect that the real heavy hitter was Hillary. She was ultimately responsible for the consulates vulnerability, and then she lied, and lied, and lied. During and after the assault she did her damnedest to cover her butt, and to cover Obama’s butt. To me the evidence is clear that the decision not to appropriately safeguard the consulate came from Obama and Clinton who, for purely political reasons, insisted on a benign, smiley face presence so as not to anger the locals, and to try and prove to America that their foreign policy was working. It wasn’t and it isn’t, and the caskets prove it. I think that the same dynamic was at work when any attempt at rescue was forbidden.
