Letters to the editor with pictures since 2002. Published on Big Pine Key’s garbage days, Tuesdays and Fridays.

[Starlink] Remember that name because soon us Earthlings will be buying our internet service from Elon Musk. Starlink is his satellite constellation cluster being constructed by SpaceX to provide satellite Internet access through 30,000 small satellites and provide complete global internet coverage for a fee. Does anyone remember the car bomb that exploded at the light in Marathon in front of Kmart some years ago? No one was killed. I’m getting it confused with the person asphyxiated in a restored 1957 Chevrolet from a leak in the exhaust system. That might have happened at the same light. Was the car bomb in the same ’57 Chevy?
Maybe it’s me, but I’m still not sure we are in the clear with that Y2K thing.

[Summer Song] This is probably the first summer since recorded music when there wasn’t a “summer song” that we fell in love to or to remind us of all the fun we had that summer.

Be yourself, everybody else is taken.

Apparently Mac supports Windows now.

[Support Racism] It can’t exist without you!
Afghanistan has been conquered by Alexander, Genghis Khan, The British, Russians, and the USA. Afghans have always been at war.

[Permanent Heatwave] 37,000 without power. Meanwhile, more than 37,000 customers were without power across the state, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Pacific Gas & Electric. “Extreme heat and electricity demand has caused outages in parts of Los Angeles,”  ~Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

[Friday Joke] Potential real estate buyer: Hi, I’m looking to buy a home – how is the market here? Real estate seller: Remember back in May when you were looking for toilet paper? Yeah, just like that.

[New Band Notices] People need to stop putting flyers on my car. I don’t want to see a band called “Parking Violation” at the “Courthouse.”

Religion as that of Rome would give small satisfaction. Its legends were often childish or impossible; its teaching had little to do with morality. The Roman religion was in fact the nature of a bargain: men paid for certain sacrifices and rites, and the gods granted their favor, irrespective of right or wrong.  ~Gibbon

[Kitten Wanted] Wanted long-haired-female kitten. Our cat of 14 yeas died last month and we’re now ready for a new kitten. Getting a kitten from the animal places is impossible because of Covid-19. Our efforts have all failed. Please email me if you have a long-haired-female kitten at b33043@outlook.com

[“Cannon Hinnert”] What about Cannon Hinnert? There was an immediate 24-hour search put in place for his killer who was caught, arrested, and thrown in jail ASAP. Why would you be  upset about an immediate and successful search and capture? Guess it destroys the posters rhetoric.

Tropical Storm 13. Now it begins!

… but where did they bury the rest of him?

[“State bank”] The bubba system works quite well in another public agency of the state. Lack of proper oversight. No independent audit of records and procedures. No thank you.

For sale. Homemade pontoon boat. Needs motor and center console finished. $1500. Buxton, NC.

I worked on the 7 Mile Bridge as a laborer for $4.50 an hour and got promoted to a welder at $5 an hour. That was fair money back then. Couldn’t live on it, but that’s what jobs paid.

That’s it, it’s done.  The new law of accompaniment at the end of life just got enacted.

[Movies] Are they kidding when they dress a very pretty movie star as a man and everyone in the movie believes she’s a man? Give me a break.
