I forgot how good ‘real’ tomatoes tastes. I went to the flea market on Saturday and bought some. They were so good I went back Sunday for more and they were sold out. I will be there as early as I can this Saturday to buy a basket full. Fresh baked bread and good farm fresh produce are the only things I miss from up north.

There is a major design flaw recently noticed in FKAA’s LPS sewer system. Another grinder pump manufacturer brought this to our attention as an undesirable trait of the E-1 brand pumps specified by FKAA.

Good engineering design, reiterated in the FL Plumbing Code 712.4.2 states that a sewer pump must pump at least 21 gallons per minute if pumping through a 2″ pipe. This is the quantity of flow required to achieve a scouring velocity to prevent settlement and blockage in the pipe. The Environment One (E-1) pump can only achieve about half that rate under very favorable backpressure conditions, but the pumps are all piped to a 2″ force main in the road. Consequently, unless at least 2 pumps are running at the same time, deposits will build in the 2″ pipe.

Two pumps will never run at the same time for the homes at the ends of the line, such as in cul-de-sacs. When the snowbirds are away, it may not occur for the whole street. This is especially likely considering that the pumps only run for about a minute at a time, so scouring velocity would only occur when at least two pumps were running during that same minute! There are flush-outs provided at dead ends and intersections, but until an FKAA crew can get out to unplug the line, you will be without sewer service whenever deposits build in the line.

The best way out of this pending disaster for the FKAA and their engineers. is to eliminate personal grinder pumps in people’s yards (like we have said all along), and put people in sparsely settled areas on a gravity system to a collector manhole with a more capable pump that can achieve scouring velocity and run for a longer period of time when it pumps. Since it is cheaper to do things that way anyway, why the stubborn insistence on trying to put individual E-1 grinder stations in people’s yards?

Insurance policies have been going up in price 20% every year. Did anyone know that? Did anyone ever read their policies? Companies have to provide a letter of cancellation because the policies, as provided, changed. They are technically new policies but are actually the same policies with upgrades.

For instance, the USA has been one of the worst western countries in infant mortality rates because policies have not been including maternity benefits. Babies died because women, even if they had benefits from work, didn’t go to the doctor for prenatal care because they couldn’t pay out of pocket. Now all policies must include maternity benefits. Pregnancy will be considered the same as any other medical condition. All you pro-lifers should love that, right? Social Security was a mess when it first started. Medicare was a disaster when it first started. Medicare D was a mess when it started. They all came around. Stop complaining and be supportive. The ACA is going to eventually be a good thing!

[Exploding Poop] Knowing that FKAA has chosen a grinder pump to put in many of our yards that is not explosion-proof (meaning it can ignite fumes), I amused myself this morning reading about and watching videos of exploding sewers. The University of Georgia’s Student Government Association (SGA) held an unusual dinner and dialogue during Social Justice Week in opposition to the notion of success stories.

The event “No More Success Stories: Dinner, Dialogue, Making A Difference” was scheduled for October 23rd and listed panelists for the final event of Raise Your Hand for Equality Day at the U. of Georgia. The premise of the forum is that minority success stories diminish the stature of other minorities. The flyer, for example, features the openly gay CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper in the background, and poses: “1 in a Million Means 999,999 left behind.”

The concept behind the event is that everyone should be equally successful; and therefore, elevating success stories violates notions of social justice, which are premised on equality of outcomes. According to this reasoning, if a minority becomes successful, while others fail to do so as well, that means society is unjust; and therefore, social justice requires elevating those who haven’t done as well, even if that means leveling the economy. [“Water Quality”] The real source to the deterioration of the water quality in the Okeechobee is coming from the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon. The brown algae blooms there are killing off the manatees and dolphin at high rates. So, once again we are faced with a trickle down effect where the water from the Lagoon is flushed to the Okeechobee, then flushed to the everglades, then to a coral reef near you.

The Regressives on here have had a pretty bad 2 weeks on the C.T. They have been caught making up magical numbers, are dismayed that Americans are starting to see that Obamacare isn’t the worst thing ever so now they have to resort back to their usual crutches. One of them is Bengazi. When they are made aware of facts that they disagree with they have a tendency to blame the Messenger, the Media, the newspapers, colleges anyone they can point out. This information was direct from the military.com website. I don’t think they are a radical anti American media source but the right will try now to paint them in that light.

According to Military.com U.S. Envoy Chris Stevens refused offers of additional security before the Consulate attack. McClatchy newspapers reported the same information.

Its reported that U.S. Army general Carter Ham the then commander of the U.S. Africa Command even called Stevens and asked if the embassy needed a special security team. Stevens told him no it did not. Then a few weeks later the general again asked him if he needed more security and again Stevens said no. Twice Stevens refused additional security.

As usual the right im sure will attack the messenger and ignore the realties. They can have their own opinions but they cant continue making up facts. Its time to throw away the Bengazi crutch and try  to be a positive force for this country. Putin and Palin have not been elected to office yet. Did you know Putin can see Palins house from his front yard?

What is the Tea Party Movement? Millions upon millions of Americans feel as though the country is heading in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, there’s no one single problem (or one single person) on which to pin the blame.

Government spending is at an all-time high, and America is trillions of dollars in debt. Low taxes- Dramatically smaller government with a much reduced role

Substantially less central government (Washington) and a preference for states rights

More individual freedom

Free market prosperity

This is accomplished in a number of ways. American citizens must decide to elect out corrupt officials and replace them with individuals who value the input of the average citizen. The government that governs best is one that governs least, and elected leaders must be made to understand that. Those officials who remain in office should know that they will not remain if they vote against the will of the people.

Frankly, I think that we make a mistake in placing all of the blame for the ACA on Obama. The legislation was written solely by Democrat legislators and passed both houses of Congress without a single Republican vote. The ACA is yet another example of the deeply troubling determination of Democrats to control every facet of our lives. And, it is yet another example of their ineptitude.

Please recall that the Democrats have had functional control of our government for nearly 7 years. During those years we’ve seen ever more intrusion into our privacy by the government. We’ve seen Muslim fundamentalist terrorism explode. AQI is growing like an metastatic tumor. We have seen our government intercept private and personal communications of friendly heads of state. We are witnessing a move by prior friendly nations to sanction us in the UN for that behavior. We’ve endured an unprecedented explosion in our national debt even though our federal revenues are at a historic high. We now have more people on welfare than people with jobs. That’s not only dangerous, it’s tragic.

It’s time of a change of governance, time to return the Democrat legislators to their homes.

In any event, thousands is one hell of a lot more vets in attendance than some doofus claimed. That poster wrongly suggested that the whole thing was a Tea Party event and that only about 200-400 people showed up. The poster was wrong on both counts.  I wonder what that poster has against vets?
