[Crooks] A potential class-action lawsuit filed against the state-backed Citizens Property Insurance Corp. alleges the company purposefully deprived customers of windstorm mitigation discounts through an arbitrary re-inspection program that lawyers estimate has cost customers nearly $200 million in lost credits.

[Deputy Slandered] We all have things, places, and people we do not like. It’s part of life, right? Yesterday in the Coconut Telegraph, there was a post regarding a sheriff deputy and a link was attached. Upon clicking on the link, and then reading the story, I realized that some very hateful, mean, and classless person had tried to slander this man. I do not know him and I am not one to celebrate law enforcement, but I am a citizen of this community and I appreciate all those who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

We all have moments in life that may have been very difficult. The strong ones move on and make the best of it, and the cowards are the ones trying to knock down the strong. This was a low blow, and you need to do some serious praying, because karma and God will make sure you do not ever forget your hideous actions. Shame on you!

Let’s hope the County and School Board pass similar resolutions.

[“Sony PlayStation 4 is dead and no one will buy it”]  Did you review the device? It does not need a CD to operate just like PlayStation 3 you can download the game. It can be used offline and online just like the units before it. Please research better before making a comment that is not true.

[“Banks are refraining from dumping a large inventory of foreclosures on the market”] I read that article, then checked my mail. Funny how the story linked from CT differs greatly from the numbers in the newsletter I got from one of the local blue and white sign company Realtors yesterday.

According to them, things here are sunny and bright in the market. Yet, there’s a bunch of them REO(?), short sale, distressed properties in the Lower Keys and there’s more to come, just ask the agents who are approved to work the inventory for the banks, they’re the ones making the money.

an_drunk_baby3[Bar Humor] A guy in a bar was about as drunk as it’s possible to get.  A group of guys notice his condition and decide to be good Samaritans and take him home.   First they stand him up to get to his wallet so they can find out where he lives, but he keeps falling down. He fell down eight more times on the way to the car, each time with a real thud. After they get to his house, he falls down another four times getting him to the door. His wife comes to the door, and one guy says, “We brought your husband home.”

His wife asks, “Where’s his wheelchair?”

[Climate Change] High tide, low tide. The photo has no bearing on the fact that  the high water mark has not changed in 100 years.
[Man to Man] The Obama administration is asking the Supreme Court to overturn California’s ban on same-sex marriage and turn a skeptical eye on similar prohibitions across the country. The administration says unequivocally in a legal brief filed late Thursday that gay marriage should be allowed to resume in California, where it has been barred since the passage of Proposition 8 in 2008. It does not explicitly call for marriage equality across the United States but points the court in that direction.

[Climate Change] Compare the two pictures of the Long Key Bridge that were on here Thursday.. You can easily see the difference in the water depth between the two. Thanks to whomever enabled us to compare the two by bringing up the bridge as an example of the belief that there has been “no rise in sea level”.

This poor soul has forgotten to take into account one minor fact. The physics associated with rising & falling tides.

nasa3.1[Snow from Space] In late February 2013, a major snowstorm made its way across the continental United States, dropping snow from Colorado to the Great Lakes region. The National Weather Service reported snow totals of five to eight inches in many parts of the Central Plains and Upper Mississippi River Valley. Some parts of the Central Plains experienced snowfall rates as high as four inches per hour, along with thundersnow.

The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the Suomi NPP satellite captured this nighttime view at 1:55 a.m. CST on February 23. This imagery is from the VIIRS “day-night band,” which detects light in a range of wavelengths from green to near-infrared. The day-night band takes advantage of moonlight, airglow, and starlight to brighten the landscape and uses filtering techniques to observe signals such as city lights and snow cover. On the night of this image, the Moon was nearly full.

City lights glow like clusters of stars against a backdrop of grey and black in this image. The snow appears medium gray, and stretches from northern Texas to the Dakotas, and from the Rocky Mountain states eastward past Chicago. When VIIRS acquired this image, snow cover across multiple states had persisted since the previous night.

[Climate change] Do you think one bridge picture is high tide and the other is low tide?
[“A manatee was seen headed up the canal around noon on Wednesday”] I thought I’d seen it, but when I got out the hose and squirted fresh water at it, she turned around and yelled expletives at me! Turned out it was the vacationing Wisconsin snowbird from two doors down.

I’m figuring 6 weeks before they flee.

an_taxi_driver_tuttle[Taxi Humor] A man returns home a day early from a business trip. It’s after midnight. While en route home, he asks the cabby if he would be a witness. The man suspects his wife is having an affair, and he wants to catch her in the act. For $100, the cabby agrees.

Quietly arriving home, the husband and cabby tiptoe into the bedroom. The husband switches on the lights, yanks the blanket back and there is his wife in bed with another man! The husband puts a gun to the naked man’s head. The wife shouts, ‘Don’t do it! I lied when I told you I inherited money’ “HE paid for the Porsche I gave you. HE paid for our new cabin cruiser. HE paid for your season Bulls tickets. HE paid for our house at the lake. HE paid for your African tour and 4×4. HE paid for our country club membership, and HE even pays the monthly dues!’

Shaking his head from side-to-side, the husband lowers the gun. He looks over at the cabby and says, ‘What would you do?

The cabby replies, ‘I’d cover him with that blanket before he catches a cold.’

[Winn Dixie Plaza] I agree that the Winn Dixie Plaza needs some serious work. Landscaping, work on the parking lot, overall aesthetics. Big Pine deserves better.

On the nights when the Moon rises with Spica and Saturn, the pairings shift to the high southwest by dawn.

[“Climate change pictures”] You can clearly see the high tide mark on the bridge in the older picture. It was low tide when the older picture was taken and high tide when the newer picture was taken. It may be true about the water being higher, those photos are just not good proof.

[Climate Change] Here is how the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in its Fourth Assessment Report summed up its investigation on sea level rise:
“Global average sea level rose at an average rate of 1.8 mm per year over 1961 to 2003. The rate was faster over 1993 to 2003: about 3.1 [2.4 to 3.8] mm per year. Whether the faster rate for 1993 to 2003 reflects decadal variability or an increase in the longer-term trend is unclear. There is high confidence that the rate of observed sea level rise increased from the 19th to the 20th century, the total 20th-century rise is estimated to be 0.17 m.is unclear.”

.17 meters is about 61/2 in over the 100 year period. This is essentially the same Amount of rise each 100 years for the last 8000 years. Some have been less others more. You have to have a pretty good eye to see 6 inches in those pics so I’m thinking they are probably tidal differences.

Science is not a belief system you don’t “believe in science” science is a method we use to examine the world we live in. Religions and cults “believe”. Last I heard, climate change was not yet a recognized religion. Link

an_samurai-chop[How the military helps business culture] The military takes people at the age they would normally go to university or college in the U.S., and they spend time in compulsory military service. You find yourself doing things at a very tender age that you wouldn’t normally do at that age in other countries. People grow up. People develop skill sets that they might never develop. These are people who have learned problem-solving skills, to think quickly on their feet, to work together as teams. Typically, that takes time to learn in life.

This is the case in Israel. Everyone is required to serve in the military and the result is a versatile, innovative and creative nation.

[“Big Pine Shopping Center Improvements”] Clean it, scrape the parking lot clean, resurface it, sand-blast all the buildings of chicken shit, and get some stores in there worth going to, like a Publix. Thanks from the local wallets!

[Captain doom and Gloom] If the Democrats stay in office for more than four terms, we will have to change the name America to Barter Town!

“Gun Background checks” I feel sorry for people who think like this, they may never see reality. The utopian thinking of the perfect world cannot exist because we humans are obviously not stable enough to not need weapons. Just think if all weapons of any kind disappeared and all armies disbanded and all criminals became stable sane human beings, then the only thing we would have to worry about are the religious nuts, right?  Dog help us all!

“Google Goggles” Now this scares the hell out of me. Whatever is happening to privacy and security? Gone in sixty seconds, right?

“The Bible Series” Holy Crap Bat Breath, just think there is not enough mind bending BS on TV now, and they want to stick this crap in our eye. Time to drop the cable!

“No Name Electric” Whatever happened to majority rules? Do these people have a say or is it just the monye that counts. Seems to me, it is up to the land owners to order power or not by either voting on it, or by demand in court. Why all the hoopla? As far as the Key Deer go, enough already. They are over breeding like rats, right? Just feed them sterilization food to cut down their numbers. Deer Burgers are great on toasted buns too.

Obama’s trying to cut the budget today of 85 billion dollars and the Republicans don’t like it. They campaigned to cut federal spending but don’t like when it actually happens. What’s wrong with them anyway?

I sure hope the budget cuts go into effect tomorrow. We spend too much. I find it odd that everyone complains about too much spending then goes bizonkers when Obama actually tries to make the cuts.

[Hates Al Gore] It certainly tells a person a lot when one of our resident environmentalists quotes that eminent scientist Al Gore as the source of his latest revelation on the lefts fixation with Global Warming this is the same Al Gore who is now immersed in high finance with Muslim fundamentalists to the tune of somewhere around 500 million, but what’s to worry, it’s just another addition to Al’s pile which he has already accumulated selling carbon credits and all to his lackeys on the left, for his influence in high liberal echelons, while laughing all the way to his various and remote stashes of various different brands of currencies and his horde of commodities, and wondering perhaps how it could all be so easy to hoodwink the gullible followers that he and his various friends in stratospheric circles are performing on his naive and gullible robotic followers.

[Budget Cuts] How about all senators, representatives and congressmen take a pay and benefit cut equal to the sequestering.
2 way1[The Donald as Vice President] I have a deal for the poster that asked me to show him where Romney was considering The Donald as  a vice Presidential candidate. I would be glad too. As soon as any Republican can show me the quote where our President said he wants to take away peoples gun I will be glad to reciprocate with my proof. I have been asking for proof of Republicans claim of Obama wanting to take away our guns for 2 months now.

If you cannot show me the proof of our President wanting citizens’ guns then I volunteer the same response I was given from Republicans when I asked for proof. “Do your own research”. Streets run both ways.

FROM THE RIGHT

an snareOMG, who could have guessed that this would ever happen….drum roll please!…

Kudos and a tip of the FTR fedora to Jolting Joe Biden. Biden is actually doing something that makes a hell of a lot of sense and is actually wise. GASP! Yesterday he announced that he was giving up government paid Air Force 2  rides every weekend from DC to his home in Delaware.  By the way, AF2 could be any one of a number of different planes, but the odds are that it is one of those mega expensive evil big business jets. Link

Joltin Joe is giving up all that expense; he’s going back to his old favorite…the train.  Good for Joe.  Joe has again become “regular Joe”. “Regular Joe,” means first-class seats, nowhere near the quiet car. Those familiar with the veep’s travel history say Biden would pass some of the one-hour, 18-minute trip from D.C. to Wilmington, Del. by reading the paper or reviewing work materials. But mostly he just talks, a source said. A lot. And poses for photos. “He just walks around shaking hands posing for pics,” said the source. “He talks to everyone and anyone, and doesn’t sit still.”  He may be grandstanding on the train, but he’s saving hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars. AF2 doesn’t fly cheap.  Good for Joe.  Joe’s boss could learn a lot from Regular Joe.

very1Part 2)  Whoo-eee, it’s getting nasty outside…but verrry, verrrry interesting.  The media are starting to bite Obama, and Obama is biting back.  Certainly you will remember that very recently Bob Woodward revealed that it was the White House that fathered sequestration. The sequestration seed was brought from the White House, with the blessing of the Big O by Jack Lew (O’s newly minted Sec Treas)  and Ron Nabors ( O’s Legislative Affairs Director), and was hard sold to Republicans and Democrats alike. They both bought into it. The bastard child, sequestration passed from both the Senate and the House. Then the Big Daddy, -O- , signed the birth certificate and it became the law of the land. Congress and the The Big O  together birthed this bastard child called sequestration. Now, however, the Big O hates his bastard child and is embarrassed that it has been reported that he was the father.  Recently Bob Woodward revealed that Obama was the Daddy of sequestration, Woodward wrote about in his book, “The Price of Politics”.  Even worse, Woodward has hit the TV telling the nasty facts to all who will listen.  The Big O and his minions are severely pissed and appear to have threatened Woodward. On CNN Woodward said that he was warned he would “regret” writing an article arguing that Mr. Obama had “moved the goalposts” in negotiations over how to reduce America’s $845 billion budget deficit. “It makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters ‘you are going to regret’ doing something,” Woodward told CNN. Woodward didn’t boost his popularity in the White House when he characterized O’s handling of the sequestration dilemma as being “madness.”

It turns out Woodward was not the only voice in the forest. Lanny Davis is/was an ardent supporter of Obama and was a key player in the Clinton White House. Recently Davis, in a  WMAL-AM interview, said  that his editor, John Solomon, “received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn’t like some of my columns, even though I’m a supporter of Obama. I couldn’t imagine why this call was made.” Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, “that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials.”

Ron Fournier, editor in chief of National Journal reported that he has received several e mails and telephone class from a Team Obama operative that were filled with vulgarity, abusive language, and virtually the same veiled threats that Woodward received. Read all about it. Link

It is a dirty little DC secret that Team Obama has a nasty habit of calling and threatening journalists who refuse to hew to the Obama party line. Some admit that they have caved to the pressure. Even Politico has written an article about it. Check it out: Link

Chicago politics at play. Not pretty, not good, not ethical, and not surprising.

Part 3) It is really revealing that Obama is now saying that there will be no immediate effect on our daily life from the sequester. To quote him as of late yesterday: “This will not be a cliff, but it will be a tumble down”.  Now he says that we can expect “nothing” to happen, perhaps for months. Just the other day he told us that fires would not be fought, FBI agents would be furloughed, criminals would walk free.  The day before yesterday, Arnie Duncan, Education Secretary for Obama, falsely claimed that thousands of teachers were getting pink slips as a result of sequestration.  That was proved to be a huge, nasty, stinking lie. Read all about in Politifact wherein Duncan’s lie earned 4 Pinocchio’s, its highest/lowest lie score.
