(Ed: Tomorrow, Friday, will be the last day I’ll publish the CT. I will resume posting Sunday, April 14. It’s vacation time for Deer Ed as my brain needs an enema. Please save your thoughts as there will be no email service after I finish publishing Friday’s CT.  Email service will resume Saturday morning, April 13 for posting on Sunday, my first day back on the job.)

Restoring the Old Seven Mile Bridge is a swell idea, but not now. It should be done after the sewers are paid for. Stop spending what we don’t have. Were not the federal government.

[Disability Fraud] There are about ten to eleven million citizens receiving disability benefits. That’s a lot of fake injuries.

[Disability Fraud] SSA DI is the nation’s primary Federal disability program. According to the most recent data from SSA, in November 2011, the Agency provided about $9.8 billion in DI payments to more than 10.5 million citizens across the country (more than 8.5 million disabled workers, along with 2 million spouses and children). As baby boomers reach their most disability-prone years, more Americans have turned to SSA.

Restoring the Old Seven Mile Bridge will be great for Marathon’s tourist industry so why doesn’t the City of Marathon pay for it.

To yesterday was Wednesday the 27, not the 26th as on your post. (Ed: Aw, shucks. Thanks)

Don’t forget to boycott the oil industry on April 15th, as a loud unified voice. Fill up your gas tanks on the 14th or the 16th of April instead.

[Building Peace] One of the main obstacles is our pride. This pride is an inflated state of mind and relies on our false view of the transitory collection, which focuses on the existent self, attributed to our body and mind, and distorts it. When we are on top of a very high mountain, we look down on all the lower peaks. Similarly, when we are full of pride, everyone else appears lower. We are the best and everyone else is inferior. This pride is associated with our self-preoccupation and makes us act inappropriately and disrespectfully towards others, thereby bringing us face to face with all kinds of unpleasant and unwanted experiences. As long as we feel and act as through we are the center of the universe, we will never develop real concern for others. To counteract this attitude we train ourselves always to think of them as supremely important by considering their good qualities and by reviewing our own faults and weaknesses.

Deer Ed, Will you publish deadbeat tenants in the Keys if you have facts you can check at the Clerk of Courts websites? These people need to be known how they take total advantage of a landlord. Also they owe thousands of dollars. You always hear about bad landlords, but there are a whole lot more deadbeat tenants that should be exposed.

US1 Radio and Keynoter’s Sean Kinney have done a good job on the Balfour Beatty property tax issue this week, but where is coverage in the Key West Citizen? Link

Lost in translation.

Ok, I take it back about the Keynoter not informing the public on the Balfour Beatty tax issue. There is a very good article today there by Sean Kinney. The KW Citizen is still not paying attention though.

Support mental health or I’ll kill you!

[“Haven’t read FTR in months”] No deal of any kind here – it’s been years since I’ve read FTR or any of the other crap below the warning banner Deer Ed posts to let normal folks that have a life, know to stop, close the CT, and move on to the sunshine. Arguing politics is futile, useless, a waste of time and absolutely an exercise in mental masturbation. I’ll have no part of this waste of life.

One extreme zealot trying to convince his opposite extreme zealot to change their view, because “I” have a more valid argument, better understanding of the issue(s), am more “enlightened” than the opponent. You are all loonies if you think anything you have to say matters to “them”. It doesn’t. Doesn’t matter to me either.

Your vote. My vote. Deer Ed’s vote doesn’t amount to a pimple on an ant’s ass, but if you cast your vote you have earned the right to speak to the issues. But, my vote entitles me to not have to listen, nor read your crap – ever. Because that’s what your posts are – crap. God bless America and may America bless God.

Long live the Caution Politics Banner

[Tax Boycott] If we all were to unite as a nation, and decide that none of us will pay our taxes as a national protest until our politicians learn that the money that funds this government is not theirs to spend recklessly, but in fact, our money they’re spending what do you think will happen? Obviously they can’t arrest us all for boycotting taxes.

How many of you out there will be willing to teach these jerks in D.C. a very valuable lesson? The lesson is that they work for us! The government is not supposed to tell us what to do. In fact, we’re supposed to tell the government what we want them to do.

FROM THE RIGHT

an_bandagesHopefully you know that the various health insurers are now in the process of setting the health insurance rates that will be mandated by Obamacare.  The chances are you will remember that Team Obama gave us his most sincere assurances that health insurance would would be cheaper to buy under Obama. Certainly you will recall his (in)famous boast that he would reduce the cost of health care insurance by “up to” $2500 per family.  I suggest that you refresh your recollection by checking out the following link.

That promise was manna from on high.  The Great Obama assured us that those who could only afford very limited health insurance coverage would be able to afford the best. But now, those most sincere assurances are no longer “operative”.

Last year we learned that spending on health care rose 4.6 percent in 2011 — up $4,500 per person, on average — according to the nonpartisan Health Care Cost Institute. That’s up from a 3.8 growth rate in 2010. Then we learned that Health insurance premiums for individuals and families also climbed year-over-year, up 3 percent ($186) on average for an individual and 4 percent ($672) on average for a family, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Deer Friends, during Obama’s term, between 2009 to 2012, premiums have climbed $2,370 for the average family with an employer-provided plan – a rate faster than the during the previous four years under President George W. Bush, according to Kaiser. But now Just the other day, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius picked at out scabs by  finally admitting that health insurance premiums are rising because of the President’s health insurance takeover, per the Wall Street Journal. Some have pointed out that the price of health care insurance premiums has climbed faster under Obama than they did under during GWB’s last four years.

Then there is this: The Society of Actuaries estimated Tuesday that insurers will have to pay out an average of 32 percent more for claims on individual health policies under the Affordable Care Act, a cost likely to be passed on to consumers.

While some areas will see declines in medical claims costs, the report predicts the majority of states will see double-digit increases in their individual health insurance markets, where people purchase coverage directly from insurers rather than get coverage from employers.

By  2017, the estimated increase would be 62 percent for California, about 80 percent in Ohio and Wisconsin, more than 20 percent for Florida and 67 percent for Maryland. Much of the reason for the higher claims costs is that sicker people are expected to join the pool, the report said.  Whoopie!

tiphat28Part 2) Thanks and a tip of the FTR fedora to those members of the CT community who took the time to advocate for thought, especially critical thought.  Your postings are a breath of fresh air. Please, please, take the time to compose your thoughts and then post your beliefs here. Politics are a fascinating topic, but any topic will do. Aviation postings could be fascinating. Please advocate for your point of view.

Congrats to the posters who remembered that Sky King was the pilot of the Song Bird in the long running series, Sky King. First it was on radio, later on TV. In the later years, the Song Bird was a Cessna 310.  The aviation question (sort of) for today is what was the first plane that Sky King piloted in the TV show?  For extra points, how was that model used by the USAF. No fair Googling.
