[Lottery] I decided years ago to stop buying any type of Lotto, powerball or any lottery tickets. The odds of winning are a zillion to one – better chance of being struck by lightning than winning any lotto prize. When the lotto urge strikes me I just toss a few bucks out the window of my car. I don’t win anything, but some one will feel as if they did when the find my “lotto bucks” along side the road. No litter confrontations with the police yet, but I’d like to see what happens if it does occur. I feel better too, on Sunday morning when I know before I open the newspaper I didn’t win the big bucks, and don’t care. Life is good.

Looe Key resort  is not being auctioned off for taxes. The notice in the paper was a required public notice of foreclosure, please read before you post incorrect information. The only people that suffer from such carelessness are the bartenders and the people that work there. 

Daddy Bones is doing all they can to make it easier to get to their Rib Joint behind Checkers during all the horrible road construction. They even put up a sign on Flagler Aver to help you hungry BBQ fans.

I heard this strange croaking in my yard yesterday and looked to see a flock of ibis feeding. I never heard them croak before. Didn’t know they did.

It seems Amy Heavilin is firing or driving out all the stable experienced people in the Clerk’s Office. I guess it will be the next county scandal. Also Check the comments left below the story. Seems Heavilin wasn’t even qualified to run because by doing so she was breaking the Federal Hatch Act Law. Yes, complaints were filed and she was found to have broken the law. The OSC Letter showed up on Nov 6th at 6pm. I have to wonder why the Elections office did not remove Heavilin’s name from the ballot counting at that point? Did they just drop the ball? Do they not care when laws are broken by candidates? Harry Sawyer is this your parting legacy? illegally elected officials? 

I have to wonder how much Heavilin’s illegal activities are going to end up costing the County. Thank you Bob Peryam for promoting this illegal candidate. Those wishing to further complain that a unqualified federal law breaking candidate is being seated in our county even though Heavilin is disqualified per federal law, may get answers to specific questions regarding political activity by calling OSC at 800-85-HATCH (854-2824) or 202-254-3650. You may also file a compliant with the OSC. 

Its your county, people, do you want a law breaker to run the county money while you look the other way or are you going to make Heavilin accountable for her illegal actions? Heavilin has proved she has no integrity or she would have already stepped down. Heavilin broke the law to win the campaign. As to her denial of knowledge over the Federal law, lets remember ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Now who is going to step up and fix this travesty? Election office where are you? We have to remove Heavilin and hold a special election to seat a law abiding Clerk of Courts. [Do Unto Others …] I saw a sign today that there’s a fundraiser to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy. I guess I just must not remember the one the New Yorkers did for us after Wilma.

[Reminiscence on a Bad Night’s Sleep] I don’t think I’ve had a worse night sleep than when I first came to Key Weston vacation to see my new friend Gil. When he invited me, and the main attraction of traveling across America to visit him was that he had a 50′ schooner in Key West and plenty of extra girlfriends to go around. But when I got here the first thing I was obliged to do was witness Gil’s signature on the bill of sale for the schooner. So here he was living in his car, a Ford with the name White Whale painted on the fender. I slept that night in the apartment of one of his girlfriends. They fucked all night. They never stopped. It was awful. I was so tired and drunk and I couldn’t even stay asleep with their shenanigans going on. They were grunting and groaning and it was awful. It wasn’t sexy at all, I just wanted to sleep. Here I am on the couch in this efficiency across the street from the old Gibson Inn with the two of them and their noisy gymnastics twenty feet away. What a night.

[Building Permit] It happens everywhere, I reckon. Denied a permit for a horse stall. Sounds way too familiar unfortunately. Great ad-lib job. The horses in this photo really do look like they are miniature, but they are normal size. The ponies are standing under a gigantic wooden table and two chairs while grazing in a meadow near Doellstaedt, central Germany. The huge garden furniture was installed as a shelter for horses.

I just watched SWAT – Miami Dade on TV.   I am glad that I don’t live in area where those SRT men and SWAT detectives and officers operate but I will say that unfortunately I think our MCSO officers and detectives would die during their first operation.  That show demonstrated that there are two, if not more, caliber of law enforcement officers.

[Today] The Big Pine Moose Lodge and Moose and the Lower Keys Musician Coalition are putting on a benefit for Hurricane Sandy victims from a small island in New York, at the Lodge on Sunday Dec 2 from 11am til dark, the address is 331 Wilder Road, just past the Winn-Dixie on the right. It is Open to the Public, so everyone please stop by and check it out. We will have entertainment all day and Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and sides for $6 and Draft beers for $1 till they run out and a cash bar. We will also have all sorts of vendors selling there stuff, so hope to see you there. Anyone who wants to set up a booth, show up at the lodge around 10 and see Norrene ($25.00 fee).

Big Pine Athletic Association youth baseball league is having it’s 2013 spring season registration this coming week at Watson field on Tuesday, Wed, Thursday (Dec. 4, 5, 6) from 5:30 – 7p and Saturday (Dec. 8) from 9a- 11a. There will be two leagues this season, minor league for ages 5-6 and major league for ages 7-9. Pay attention to your receipts. This is important with this Christmas season. Check your receipts before leaving any cashier’s station!

I bought a bunch of stuff, over $150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of $40. I told her I didn’t request a cash back & to delete it. She said I’d have to take the $40 because she couldn’t delete it. I told her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I’d have to take it! I said no. Taking the $40 would be a cash advance against my Discover card and I wasn’t paying interest on a cash advance. If they couldn’t delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything. The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of $20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the electronic pad must be defective(yeah, right!).

Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad wasn’t defective because she NEVER offered me the $40 at the beginning. Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed?

My coworker went to Wal-Mart last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn’t give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My coworker didn’t look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for $20 cash back. She did not ask for cash back! My coworker called Wal-Mart who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this is a new scam. The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in line. Check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards. This is not limited to Wal-Mart, although they are the largest retailer so they have the most incidents.

With the NWO Presidente now back in puppet power and any chance of intelligence taking back our country, we will suffer severely for another four years. It’s time to remove the right of vote from women and non-contributing members of society. That’s the only logical answer that can save us from doom and gloom. Republicans will take their chips and cash them in and leave the rest of us to fight among ourselves to pick over the bones! Idiots cannot see it because they are losers who think like losers. They bitch and moan instead of rolling up their sleeves and putting their noses to the grindstone. Because idiots insist on believing that you can flip the economical pyramid upside down, doesn’t mean that the pyramid can stay erect. You can take that to the bank or what is Left of it!

While I agree with FTR’s rendition of events in Libya and Iraq, he is not going beyond the obvious and is only skimming the surface. He neglects the long view, track record and underlying reasons. There is a lot more than meets the eye on that score.

Not so coincidentally, a number of US flag level officers began to grumble and retire in droves following the announcement of a new policy for DOD: crisis management was to be institutionalized in lieu of conventional warfare. News from afar were massaged to fit politics du jour. Deception and denial replaced unadulterated reporting of events, be they military or political.
Western world geopolitics aimed to deny terrorists the benefit of publicity for their actions while they also translated their actions as criminal actions vice barbarian acts they truly were/are.These policies aren’t democratic or republican, left wing or conservative. They started at the tail end of Bush Sr.’s presidency and continue to the present time. Obama may be clumsy in the way he orchestrates the western Pontius Pilate like attitude but his attempt to wash his hands clean is nothing new.

I would loud Sen. McCain and others who claim they intend to stand in the way of Ms Rice’s nomination as the Secretary of State, but they cannot hide from they own complicity in the identical gamesmanship that saw us playing accommodation and appeasement games relative the Muslim world in Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya and now in the Islamic Spring. In each and every instance, they were/are fully aware what we were up against, what the stakes were/are and the desired end game. Through it all, we played a coy game and treated them with kids gloves.
For us as, as citizen and casual spectators, to fall in the dualism trap of divide and conquer perpetrated by one or the other party is sheer delusion if not naiveté. Both sides are in on it, the dialectic to and fro, and neither side is ready to pull their irons out of that fire. As to why we continue to be so accommodating to a wholesale invasion of Islam within our ranks and insist on proving we are indeed secular and that Islam is a benign religion like any other, that remains to be clarified.

As for Ms. Rice, she’s likely a political scapegoat, having been given the kiss of death by the Chicago mafia and rear guard Clintonite henchmen. Her role is minor, however reprehensible, but likely discredits her professional judgment and potential for nomination for higher posts. And no, race has nothing to do with it.

[Work] The Population of this country is 310 million. 160 million are retired. That leaves 140 million to do the work. There are 85 million in school. Which leaves 55 million to do the work. Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government. Leaving 20 million to do the work. 2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing terrorists which leaves 17.2 million to do the work. Take from that total the 15.8 million people who work for state and city governments. And that Leaves 1.4 million to do the work. At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals. Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work. Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons. That leaves just two people to do the work. You and me.

[Taxes] Fairness like so many subjective things is indeed in the eyes of the beholder. The rich, that in itself is highly subjective, pay about 90% of the income taxes at the present time, while 50% of the citizenry pay no taxes at all, yet enjoy many of the works made possible by taxpayers, roads and public beaches, etc. Now as to the question being posed as to only wanting the rich to pay their fair share, I in turn, would ask what part of the previous statement does he feel is unfair, as I and the rest of us patriots would be interested to know.

On Friday a poster tried to convince us that Obama’s win breached culture and class lines. As proof he told us that 8 out of 10 of the nation’s most wealthy counties cast a majority vote for Obama. Deer Friends, please allow me to say “Golly Gee, Whoopie”. The total number of votes cast, for each candidate, accounted to only about 1% off all the votes cast nationwide.  Each of those counties is and has been bastions of liberality since liberality became fashionable. Marin County California, give me a break! It’s damn near a miracle that Romney even got about 25% of the vote there.

The nasty, scary fact is that careful examination of the demographics of the vote actually proves that Obama’s class warfare did win him the Presidency.  The poor, the welfare recipients, minorities, and youth overwhelmingly voted for Obama.

The San Francisco Bee, an unabashed champion of all things liberal, published a demographic exit poll of the swing states. That poll revealed that 93% of Blacks voted for Obama as did 71% of Latino’s, 73% of Asians, and so did 56% of “other’s”.  39% of Whites voted for Obama. Special to our Deer Republican/Conservative friends. Take heart. The percentage of Blacks, Latin’s, and Asians voting for Obama in ’12 declined from ’08.

Hopefully you’re asking yourself what was the secret to the seductiveness of message that won his target demographic.  I think Obama carefully crafted his message to appeal to the most base of human emotions, envy. Obama sold a message of hate. He and his used propaganda that was specifically designed to ignite hate and distrust in our society. He set out to, and did set class against class. His message was simple: those  who are in the lower middle class or who are downright poor are there as a direct result of the greed and avarice of others who are higher on the socioeconomic  scale.  He vilified Romney by characterizing him as being a murderer, a tax cheat, a felon, an animal abuser, a bully during his adolescence, a vulture, a slavering raper of wounded companies, etc etc etc, ad nauseum. Nowhere, at no time, did we hear a cogent recovery plan offered by Obama.

It is very interesting to note that Obama won the vote of the under 39 yoa Americans. On the other hand, Romney won the vote of the 40 yoa+ population, and the older the voter, the more likely the voter voted for Romney. As for income, 60% of people who make less than $50K voted for Obama. In contrast, Romney won in every income group over $50K. Urban areas with populations over 500K overwhelmingly voted for Obama. The suburbs and rural areas voted overwhelmingly voted for Romney.  

 The Obama hate campaign would bring tears of envy to such master propagandists as Goebbels, Madalyn Murray O’Hare, Fredrich Nietzsche, or Karl Marx. Don’t kid yourselves, Obama shamefully, is the first President in my memory to use class warfare as a political weapon. Every day you hear him and his trumpet the message that the Reps are “sacrificing” the poor and middle class so as to “give” the uber rich a tax break. He and his claim that the Rep refusal to play the class warfare game are holding the poor and the middle class as “hostage”.

The exact opposite is true. First of all the Reps are ready to instantly pass legislation that will cut our massive spending and will provide added revenue which would exceed Obama’s tax increase demands.  Obama will have none of it. His is tightly focused of screwing the so called “rich”.

Unless our spending is cut we are on the road to being a third rate nation.  Fiscal cliff, or no fiscal cliff, when that happens, the poor and the middle class will suffer beyond their worst nightmare.  Think of riots inGreece,Spain, andPortugal. Think of existing entitlements being slashed to the bone. Think of wages being cut while work hours are increased.

The Reps have proven that the money raised from Obama’s class warfare demands is inconsequential. The money that Obama demands from “rich” will absolutely impede business growth and new hirings. At the same time the amount will impact our federal revenue no more that sparrow crap fertilizes a lawn. Obama is so insanely focused on punishing the rich, and redistributing their wealth, that he is willing, if not eager, to run our nation over the fiscal cliff.  So be it.
