Foundation Benefit
1st Annual
Blimp Road Fun Run
Saturday May 17
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m
Run will begin at 8:00 a.m
Sponsored by Pirate Wellness Center
Coffee and bagels will be provided by Bagel Island Deli.
Runners will be escorted across US 1 Highway and back at the
conclusion of the run for a BBQ lunch and entertainment by local
musician Brian Roberts.
All participants will receive a blimp run T-Shirt and goodie bags
brought to you by TIB bank.
We are asking the entire lower Keys community to come out and
support this new local Foundation which provides scholarships for
childcare and adult education for single parents in our area.
Together, we can make a difference by helping to break the cycle of
poverty in our community, get children into after school programs,
and giving single parents a chance to receive their education. The
SeaBee Foundation provides a single parent support group, life
skills training and education scholarships and we need your help to
continue this mission.

in the St. Peter Church office during the week.

Naval Air Station Key West
Armed Forces Day
May 17
10am-2pm
Naval Air Station Key West will open its gates to the public to
celebrate Armed Forces Day May 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The open house will be on Boca Chica Field at mile marker 8.
Visitors to the base will get to see an F/A-18 Superhornet, an F-5N
Tiger, a SH-60 Seahawk search and rescue helicopter, and an Air
Force U-2. Various departments on base and other local military
services will be represented by exhibits and demonstrations
including military working dogs and firefighting capabilities.
There will be food and NAS Key West merchandise available for
purchase.
Coolers, pets, and large backpacks will not be allowed on the
airfield, and vehicles and hand-carried bags are subject to
inspection for prohibited items, such as drugs, alcohol, and
weapons.
This is not an air show. We will have no aerial acts. However, the
air field is open and we are expecting the arrival of a squadron of
F/A-18 Super Hornets from VFA-106 from Norfolk, VA. Other military
aircraft could fly in during the open house.
Armed Forces Day is celebrated annually to recognize and honor all
military members and the sacrifices they make.

Kid's Bridge Fishing Tournament at
the
Old Wooden Bridge
Sunday May 18
Registration from 9-10am
Fishing from 10am-noon
Food and awards from 12 -1pm
Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish in every category.
Food will be pizza, hotdogs, drinks and shaved ice. free to children
participating.
Please do not bring: rods, reels, or bait, they will be given to
each child participating.
Do bring: tackle, sunscreen, and a parent or guardian. for

The 15th Annual Big Pine and Lower
Keys
Dolphin Tournament
June 6, 7 & 8.
Entry forms will be available at the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce,
Jig's Bait & Tackle, Dolphin Marina, Sugarloaf Key KOA, the Lower
Keys Chamber website and various marine
stores in the Lower Keys and Key West.
Entry fees are $150 per angler in the open class and $50 per angler
in the youth division, 15 years of age or younger.
The fee includes two days of fishing, the awards banquet and all
related social activities.
The first 330 registered anglers are eligible to win a $25,000 cash
prize for weighing in the heaviest dolphin over 55 pounds.
Cash prizes and awards total over $36,000 with top catches through
fourth place earning money.
Kids entered in the Youth Division will compete for fishing rods and
trophies awarded through third place.
There are also prizes for heaviest tuna and wahoo and this year the
tournament will feature cash and prizes for the top lady angler as
well as significant increases in the prize money for 1st through 4th
place in the Open Division.

Powerlab Vacation
Bible Study
June 16-20
9am-2pm
We've got the solution to summertime boredom! Send your kids to
Powerlab VBS at St. Peter Church.
Our one week long VBS is open to the entire community.
Children ages 4 years - 6th grade will take part in fun
scripture-themed activities that will help kids connect their faith
to real life.
Our theme this year is Powerlab, a science lab theme.
Each morning at 9:00 a.m. kids will check in with Professor
Liechstein (Father Tony) and hear about the latest drama in the
lab. Kids then visit their classrooms and different stations until
2:00 pm when they gather for the closing prayer.
Participants and teen helpers and adult volunteers should all visit

first day of VBS.

Big Pine Key AYSO
Challenger British Soccer Camp
July 21-25
The camp is open to children ages 4-18.
They will be coached by British Soccer coaches from the UK.
Each child will receive a free soccer ball and t-shirt!
