[Airport
Review] Our new Key West airport is beautiful! The arrivals are
still in the same location with the colorful family statues greeting you
on top of the airport as you deplane to Key West. Departures are now
across the street and upstairs above the parking (which is expensive).
The terminal bathrooms are stunning with very cool tile as is the color
inside. The bar looks fun and much larger. Additionally, the Sheriff
people were very polite and must have taken that required course. If
you go thru security with zippers, studs or an under wire bra, you may
feel the back of the security ladies hand under your booby as other
passengers watch intently. She told me that I couldn’t request a male
officer to do that and actually smiled. Smoking people now cross the
street to the designated smoking area and not in front of the door.
Happy trails! |

[From the
Right guy]
I am tired of reading the opinions of the Right-Wing
posters. I like to stick with facts. So here we go.
The poster stated that President Obama will be passing
President Carter as being the worst President in history. Sorry,
according to the C-SPAN 2009 Historians Presidential Leadership Survey
(65 Independent National Presidential Historians), President Carter is
in 25th place and President George W. Bush is in 36th
place and President Obama hasn't been in office long enough to have been
evaluated.
ACORN. The Bush administration from 2001-2008 provided 13
million dollars to this group. It makes a person wonder why the
Republicans, who were the majority in Congress until 2007, didn’t
question the funding of this group until now.
Posters have stated that they have lost freedoms under
President Obama. Sorry, I can’t find one Constitutional freedom that we
have lost in the past eight months? |

Name Key residents are trying a new approach
in order to get utilities to their island. This time they say they’ll
die from their cistern water even though people have been drinking from
cisterns for thousands of years.
Tip: Add one drop of bleach for each gallon of water.
Problem solved. |

How about them Cowboys and
their own modern Coliseum? Did you see that thing? Talk about marketing,
Jerry Jones is a genius. He's getting people to get off their couch and
go to Cowboy Stadium and pay $29 to stand and watch the game on TV there
and buy beer. Only in America. |

[Garbage
at the Reef] Did anyone else see all the trash at Looe Key on
Sunday? It was disgusting. Not boat garbage, but house garbage. Empty
food containers, oil containers, plastic ware, a tooth brush, the list
goes on. Kitchen and bathroom trash including very unsanitary items I
won't mention--all floating around on the reef. My guests and I would
not get in the water. We had to choose another area. I've been visiting
that reef since 1976 and have never seen anything like that. |

[Public option] Isn’t it just like the Republicans
to boast that 6 in 10 reject the healthcare plan. We reject that they
are leaning toward no public option to satisfy you. Last week 70% of all
Americans, Dems and Republicans favored a public option. No option--no
plan. That’s what’s rejected. |

[Dognapping]
As the value and profile of purebred and crossbred dogs are on the rise,
so are incidents of dognapping. The theft of pet dogs was once a rare
occurrence, but has become a specialized criminal enterprise. Like car
thieves, dognappers tend to target specific types of dogs. Toy breeds
such as Chihuahuas, Yorkshire terriers and Maltese are especially
desirable to dognappers as they are in high demand and can fetch upward
of $2,500. Thankfully, this does not happen much in the Keys. All I
know is that if anyone (human, crocodile, another dog) comes near my
precious Angel with ill intent, I'll kill them. |

[Protest] All our marching down Pennsylvania Avenue a few weeks
ago may be paying off. Obama is down again in the polls and Government
run wrong health care was defeated by two amendments in the Senate
committee on the Public Option. Be ready to march again. The House will
pass the public option and the Senate lefties are going to try to change
the voting rules in the Senate so they can pass it with no Republican
votes and 10 of the blue dog democrats get a pass. Please call, send
snail mail letters and email the dems until their heads reel. We only
need to turn a few more to get out of this mess.
If they shove this down our throats, America will throw all them out of
office in 2010. We will reverse it before it goes into effect in 2013.
Note they carefully get it going into effect after another Presidential
election, as if this bum is going to get elected again. I hope we can
stop or reverse the gov't plan and then we should slowly fix what is
wrong with health care.
Instead of raising our taxes, I wish our administration would pay
attention to the state of the economy which is really in the pits; and
do something to stimulate the economy. Where are the jobs? Does he
realize that 8% of the still valid mortgages are 30 or more days
behind? If the other shoe on these drops and even 50% of the payers
walk away from their homes, a whole bunch more of the banks are doomed.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious.
But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less
formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the
traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers
rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very hall of government
itself. For the traitor appears not traitor - he speaks in the accents
familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and
he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He
rots the soul of a nation - he works secretly and unknown in the night
to undermine the pillars of a city - he infects the body politic so that
it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared." ~Cicero,

[Peace Jam] September 21 youth from Monroe
County high schools engaged in a global call to action from Nobel Peace
Laureates and PeaceJam. Almost 300 students, recognized as leaders at
their schools, gathered at Marathon High School for a day of service,
learning, and fun thanks to Monroe Youth Challenge Program.
“It was especially nice to hold the PeaceJam SLAM on the
International Day of Peace. Students from four different schools came
together and cohesively created banners of peace that were very
inspirational,” said Sunny Booker. This one-day event served as a
kick-off to initiate forming school-based PeaceJam teams. Each team
works after school and weekends to create acts of peace on their
campuses, in their communities, county-wide, or globally.
The projects they create are to be based on one of the 10
core issues identified by PeaceJam which are: Equal Access to Water and
Other Natural Resources; Ending Racism and Hate; Halting the Spread of
Global Disease; Eliminating Extreme Poverty; Social Justice and Human
Rights for All; Rights for Women and Children, and their Role as
Leaders; Restoring Earth's Environment; Controlling the Proliferation of
Weapons; Investing in Human Security; and Breaking the Cycle of
Violence. PeaceJam is a world-recognized curriculum brought as a
resource to Monroe County students thanks to funds from Florida Learn
and Serve.
In the Spring, after each team has completed all training
sessions, 90 pre-qualified youth anticipate traveling to the Southeast
Region's PeaceJam Conference in Tallahassee to present their project for
peace. At the conference they have the opportunity to work face-to-face
with Rigoberta Menchú Tum who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992
in recognition of her work for the rights of the Maya of Guatemala and
native people everywhere.
MYCP's purpose in maintaining PeaceJam teams throughout
the school year is to help reduce violence and bullying. Research shows
a correlation between non-violent related behaviors and academic
achievement.
Monroe Youth Challenge Program's mission is to build
Developmental Assets® and create opportunities so every child in Monroe
County can feel safe, loved, and celebrated. For more information call

[From the
Right] Things are getting downright silly in DC. On the one hand our
President promised us that all legislation would be posted on the web
for a few days before he signed it. It isn’t happening. The Democrats
tell us that civilization will end if we don’t approve Obamacare, right
now. Then they set a deadline date. Then they ignore that date, and set
a new one. Then they reset it again. All the while telling us that our
nation will descend into wrack and ruin unless we pass Obamacare
immediately. Then we learn that this Obamacare emergency legislation
doesn’t take effect for nearly 4 years. If it’s such a damned emergency,
why doesn’t it go into effect the day after it passes? These politicians
must think that we are dumber than dog poop. Our Democrat friends warn
us that they will pass a bill with or without Republican participation;
after all, they hold the majority. Then they piss and moan when
Republicans resist, and they again reset the deadline. The Democrats can
pass any legislation that they want on a strict party line vote, they’ve
got the majority in the House and in the Senate. The Democrats promise
bi-partisanship. Then the Democrats kill nearly every Republican
Amendment, and they refuse to consider HR3400 a Republican alternative
reform plan. The most stinking Dem move so far was their killing of a
Republican amendment which would require the posting of the bill on the
web for 72 hours before a vote. I wonder what it is that they don’t want
you to see? I’ve got a hunch it could be the fact that under the current
Obamacare scheme, if you refuse to buy insurance, you could go to jail
for up to a year, and get fined up to $25K. Yup, believe it or not, if
you don’t do what Mr. Obama wants, you could be charged as a criminal.
Go to jail, do not pass go! Or maybe our liberal/progressive pals just
don’t want you to know the fact that the bill will make it impossible to
keep illegal aliens from participating. Or maybe the Dems want to hide
that the bill will require a major set of cuts in Medicare/Medicaid
funding which will slice into the level of care for our elderly. If I
was a Democrat, I wouldn’t want the voters to know that it was a
Democrat plan to cut the care for the elderly so that illegals and young
healthy folks can get “free” care. All of this in the name of saving
dollars. Whoops, wait a sec: it’s going to cost an additional $1.2
trillion dollars over the current system, how in the hell can that be
saving money? Who in the hell knows what’s going on? I think that most
of us agree that the whole Obamacare mess is hopelessly FUBAR, and
that's a very good thing.
(Part II)
President Obama addressing school kids. A lot of us said it smacked of
Red China, N. Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, and a whole list of other
Socialist strong man nations. The liberal progressives said that the
previous examples were just good folks teaching good citizenship. They
are wrong, it is a blatant push by educators to inculcate our kids with
liberal progressive beliefs. It’s a fact that that educators donate 10
times as many dollars to Democrat causes as they do to Republican
causes. In recent poling only about 8% of University faculty would dare
to claim to be Republicans. Now there is yet another video surfacing of
a group of little kids being brainwashed to believe that Mr. Obama is a
sacred figure. It’s got to be stopped.

[Dog
Stalking] To the persons stalking my dog, Meeka, your freaking out
my family, kids and neighbors. Driving by, stopping in front of our
home, staring into our yard, turning around at the dead end to do it all
again is just weird. If my dog goes missing again (she only has the one

[Sal and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers] “Road
Show” 9/24/2009. It appeared that the Corp spared no expense at their
annual dog and pony show held at the Hilton hotel in Dania, Florida.
The show’s core audience was primarily made up of government workers
having a day off from the normal rigors of their coffee shop routines
and a sprinkling of environmental consultants. One of the lead brown-noser
consultants at this function was none other than the renowned Sandra
Walters of Key West who seamed to be surgically attached to the event’s
main speaker David Hobbie chief of the Corps regulatory Division in
Florida. Mrs. Walter’s praises of the Corp was so intense it was
bordering on ad nauseum. There was no mention by Mrs. Walters, or
anyone else of the Corps foot dragging on any wastewater projects,
inflated mitigation fees or their abusive attitudes.
As usual many of the people that have been whining to me
about the abusive behavior of the Corp’s Miami office were nowhere to be
found. Unfortunately when this occurs it further empowers the abusers
at the Corp office in Miami to continue their abuse. I did my part as
usual to note some of their abuses but was clearly drowned out by the
warm and fuzzy comments from the consultants who are tickled pink about
how the Corp’s regulations have created an ever-increasing nebulous web
of paperwork that most property owners cannot navigate through and are
finding too costly to proceed. C'est la vie |

[Politics] The Republican Party of George W. Bush
and the Democratic Party of Barack Obama both represent the massive
expansion of centralized power at the expense of constitutional
government and individual freedom.
Bush oversaw drastic deficits, dramatically increased our domestic and
foreign policy budgets, and damaged constitutional liberties with the
Patriot Act and other police state measures. Obama has kept virtually
all of Bush's outrageously expensive and heavy-handed policies intact
and is now intent on laying down an even heavier bureaucratic hand.

hates snakes should probably live in a concrete jungle such as Miami. If
these creatures are indigenous to the area (which rattlesnakes are) they
are all part of what gives this place its beauty and allows the eco

probably paranoid and insecure is no reason to hate something to the
point you want it exterminated. What is even more troublesome is that
you chose a place surrounded by nature to call your home. |

Conservative vs Liberal
If a conservative doesn't like guns, they don't buy one. If a liberal
doesn't like guns, then no one should have one.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, they don't eat meat. If a liberal is,
they want to ban all meat products for everyone.
If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat
his enemy. A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look
good.
If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly enjoy their life. If a
liberal is homosexual, they loudly demand legislated respect.
If a black man or Hispanic is conservative, they see themselves as
independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as
victims in need of government protection.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his
situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal
wants all churches to be silenced.
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping
for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that his
neighbors pay for his. |

[The
Hackensack Two] After spotting a wide slime trail south of Florida
City, authorities are cautioning local residents about the seasonal
appearance of the Jersey Woman. Often spotted near flea markets and
discount stores, the Jersey Woman is usually seen in a large, flower
print muumuu and gold lamé slippers, carrying a plastic purse the size
of a small car, wearing a massive collection of K-Mart jewelry, the
entire Avon make-up inventory, reeking of cheap perfume and sporting
blue or flaming red hair.
Known to terrorize and loudly berate store clerks,
waiters and other service persons for failing to give her a locals
discount, she can typically be heard from great distances. Especially
in restaurants when the Two-For-One Early Bird Dinner check is
presented. She is often seen in the company of a short, submissive,
balding man wearing black dress shoes, black knee socks, plaid shorts, a
Hawaiian print shirt and a plastic sun visor with “I Saw Atlantic City”
printed on the front. This pair is also known as “The Hackensack Two.”
Local residents are cautioned not to approach the Jersey
Woman for any reason. Close contact has been known to cause hearing
loss, visual disturbances, nausea, night sweats, rash and loss of
appetite sometimes lasting for days. Sightings of the Jersey Woman
should be reported to the local pest control authorities as soon as
possible. |

On 3/22, a B747-200 freighter took off with a load

pipe broke from it's secure wooden box and punctured through the rear

decompressing the aircraft. No big deal since the aircraft was just

return and land.”
What was the big deal is what was on the other
side of the punctured bulkhead. Can you say Flight Control Hydraulics?

the size of the human genome. The draft covers 95 percent of potato

central role in feeding the world's 6.3 billion people
And it can also be used to create a dominant army to take

us now actually favor Obama care, that’s down 4 points in just the last
week. Nearly 6 in 10 Americans now reject it. It must be that Mr.
Obama’s Billy May’s impersonation on all the TV shows last week just
didn’t work, his approval rating has fallen again, it’s now down to -9.
It’s starting to look like a Chubby Checker’s Limbo Rock song verse “how
low can you go?” |

[Sky
dives’s chute fails to open] Yesterday, I went to collect the
rent from my new tenant who said he is a sky diver. He was all
jazzed up because he said his chute didn’t open. He said when it
didn’t open he cut it away so as not to tangle with his emergency
chute. He then opened his emergency chute and landed safely. The
main chute fell in the flats and he spent the rest of the day in the
water trying to find the cut away chute so he could send it back
with his complaint.
I didn’t believe him because I’ve lived here for so
long that I’m almost immune to bulls**t, but later I heard that the
Sheriff’s were looking for a missing sky diver because some people
saw the cut away chute fall to earth and thought someone died.
The sky diver said he has over six thousand dives and
he’s had parachutes not open 18 times over the years. I guess I
believe him now. |
| [Wagging His Cucumber]
Why
would anyone have the nerve to turn Leon in for something so stupid.
That man works very hard, and is always very pleasant to any
customer--rude or not. Trust me, I have seen some people go through
his line that would have deserved the "cucumber". So he makes a
joke. God love the person who could not see it as such. We have so
many up-tight a**holes around here, it is no wonder I pray for the
sphincter that took offense. Perhaps it was too close to home?
They are just trying to make a living given all of the cut-backs
happening and people losing their jobs for less than that. Cut the
old guy some slack! |

[Parachute
club coming to Marathon] 1:15 pm Sunday, 911 rescue call for sky
diver in the water, chute did not open; people on shore wading out
into water. Opps, false alarm! The chute in the water was empty,
cut-away by the shy diver who made it safely to land using his
emergency backup chute.
I sure hope that sky diver spends enough tourist
money down here to match the county's expense of sending deputies
and fire rescue to the scene.
The question on the big picture screen, as tourist
season once again looms, is are they worth their keep? Are we really
getting our money's worth?
As the locals get ready to spend less on groceries
because they have to spend more on taxes and fees, do the tourists
really pay their way? The full time locals contribute a lot more to
the Monroe economy than the tourists. Yes, some locals make more
money at their jobs when to tourists are here, but obviously
tourists are not 100% of their employment income. Is the prosperity
surge experienced by the tourist related merchants really paid back
to all the full time county dwellers? |

[Could cops be profiling] Who cares? The point
is the cops are catching the crooks. This is about volume and the
law of averages. There's a direct relationship between greater
numbers. The higher number of a group, the more of them are crooks.
So, hang up your 70's profiling rant. This is nothing
more than numeric fact, and cops doing their jobs.
Do you think you have ever been victim of profiling? |

[War on Terror] For Mexico and Canada the war
on terror is over. Mexico squandered 3 years on wild goose chases,
hunting imaginary terrorists who we're supposed to be convening in
Acapulco, sipping margaritas on a beach in Cancun, or plotting to
smuggle nuclear or biological weapons from Mexico City. All paranoid
nonsense from the nutcases in Bush's administration. Interior
Minister Juan Camilo Mourino, the country's second-most-powerful
politician and head of domestic security, argued shortly before
he “died” in a plane crash. "And during this time, the drug cartels
(in Northern Mexico) organized, grew and now pose imminent threat to
Mexican civil society."
And Canadians are even more angry that their
traditional international role as a nation that strives to resolve
conflicts in a fair and impartial manner, where Canadians are viewed
as a leader in providing peacekeeping forces around the world, has
been undermined by their cooperation in the war on terror. Soon we
will be standing alone, supporting these wars.

better polish up on your Korans and find out which way we have to

want to be cautious when you walk there.
And it’s just as well you should not be out walking

[New Jersey]
What do you mean if you go to New Jersey, don’t drink the water.
That’s terrible advice. My advice is bypass New Jersey
altogether. On my way to New England I made the mistake getting off
I-95 and driving thru the middle. I figured a 100 mile drive in the
country. The problem was there was no country. I’ve never seen more
aggressive, mean, finger waving drivers, and I’ve driven in all 50
states (I drove to Alaska and rented a car in Hawaii). The
experience makes traffic to Key West weekdays, in the morning, look
like a kindergarten. |

[Cozumel
Good] My wife and I have been to Cozumel many times and never
had a bad experience. The best diving in this part of the world!
They protect their reefs so much that you are required to shower to
remove suntan lotion and oil before you can snorkel or dive. We like
going in to the local neighborhoods and found our favorite
restaurant a few blocks up from
Señor Frogs, Los
Economicos where they have three dollar plates of food and
margaritas for less than a dollar. The best time we ever had was
being there for the Doce de September Festival (Sept 12th) which
they celebrate as independence day like our fourth of July. Great
food, fun people and fireworks that where so close the sparks
actually landed on you.
For those
that do not like Cozumel their is Cancun across the bay, but to us,
it is too much like Coconut Grove in Miami however we do like La
Pericos for great food and large margaritas. |

[Healthcare]
A few days ago I watched as a father and daughter walked to their
home as she gulped on a very large bottle of soda and waddled across
the yard. She could not have been more than 10 years of age and an
obvious 20 pounds overweight. I laugh as I pay for my gas and watch
folks pay $5 plus for a pack of smokes and wonder why. Quit you
fools. I am not without fault as I pay 16 bucks for my Bud Light 24
pack.
Why has no one proposed any type of health incentive
for getting and staying healthy? An incentive to take your kids for
a nightly walk. Quit smoking incentive, etc. A program at schools to
encourage a healthy diet and lifestyle. How many public health
centers could have been opened with the billions we gave away to
those "too big to fail"?
Back to the kid. As the dad, puffing on a smoke,
walked with her it is without a doubt in my mind she will become a
smoker as well. The end result is this child will become a ward of
whatever new healthcare system our gov’t wants to enact. She will be
a diabetic, a heart risk patient and at risk of multiple other
health issues. This is the age her habits need to be corrected.
Here is why none of these programs will ever be
proposed and never, ever be put into place - money - plain and
simple. If we begin to create new generations of a healthier people
drug companies will sell less, clinics will see less patients,
hospitals will have less ER visits due to a multitude of lifestyle
associated problems. People who consume large amounts of sugar are
at risk of a wide variety of health issues none of which is more
critical than destroying their immune systems. Our elected officials
need to stop taking bribe money. I know, it's called lobbyist
contributions, but any jackass, dem or repub knows it is a flat out
bribe. Anyone remember the Eddie Murphy 1992 movie Mr Smith Goes to
Washington? That is what we have. We should send a copy to every
member of the House and Senate. We are the most obese nation in the
world and no one seems to care. We throw money at healing instead of
throwing money at preventing. I am certain the latter would cost far
less. |
|

[Pill Poppers] I am really concerned about the latest trend
of teenagers getting high more on prescription drugs than street
drugs. I propose a community prescription drug turn-in event to
stop this. Turn in the drugs that are expired or you no longer
use. I will properly dispose of all the ones that are no good. |
|
[Least Competent Criminals] Kevin Ollie, 17,
and Damien Cole, 19, completely failed in their attempted street
robbery in Milwaukee, Wis., in August, when they accosted a young
man and woman. The male "victim" drew his own gun, shot Ollie
fatally and held Cole for the police. Later, Cole, though not the
shooter, was charged with Ollie's death under the state's "felony
murder" rule, which makes felons responsible if anyone at the scene
should die as a result of the crime. Cole could get 55 years in
prison. |

[Residents Bad] I love the Keys, but the
people here suck rocks! Most are rude, fat, alcoholics. Very few
practice self care and grooming and I cannot believe the large
amount of low-lifes down here. There are only two or three good
restaurants which are high-end and staffed by professionals whom we
do not see on the Arrest Pages. These are the only establishments I
happily support. Never again will I pay $4 for a Budweiser. I am
going to bring my own when going out. I feel gouged when
over-paying for every type of service and goods. It is sad that the
Keys have disintegrated from the greedy Bubba Dickheads and white
trash which litters Paradise. I find it amazing that people would
complain about the Cubans, as they are the better citizens and
neighbors. I cannot live anywhere else, but most of the locals are
not my people. |

[From the Right]
I feel the love from the Liberal posters who were kind enough to read the
humble postings of this Conservative and took the time to comment on them.
Thank you. I must respond to some of your points.
On the “Mr.”
President respect issue. I choose to try and address our President as “Mr.”
rather than simply using his last name, his first name, or some pejorative
term designed to be an epithet. The title “Mr.” connotes respect, and I have
great respect for the Presidency. I even have respect for Mr. Obama. After
all, he did win the election and he is an extremely intelligent and erudite
man. I have no respect for many of his policies, his methods, his outlook on
society, his racist cohorts, none. Those components of the man are
offensive. I remember all too well the Democrat practice of calling Mr. Bush
an unending array of demeaning names. I choose to be respectful and post
racial, even if you do not. Regarding ACORN. Contrary to the liberal
posting, this Right Winger never, repeat, never demanded Mr. Obama take
action against ACORN. That would be like urinating upwind in a gale. I did
however point out that he was/is a serial accomplice in much of ACORNS
activities. Even today ACORN’s tentacles permeate the Obama administration
at its highest levels. ACORN is not dead. Concerning the “destruction” of
Mr. Obama. Right Wing Kudos to the perspicacious poster who has concluded
that this Right Winger joins with the more than a hundred million other
Americans who are adamant in resisting the efforts of this administration to
remake American society into a Socialist society governed by an all powerful
central government. I might add that Mr. Obama’s foreign policy efforts have
held us up to international scorn. I hold a genuine and deep desire to see
the defeat of all of Mr. Obama’s efforts to scrap our institutions and to
literally rob us of our liberties and our choices. I have no wish to destroy
Mr. Obama, just his socialist programs. I wish him a long and interesting
life, however his defeat as Apologist in Chief for America in 2012 would be
“nice”, just ducky. Now that Mr. Obama has some executive experience,
perhaps he would be qualified to be a Mayor of Chicago, or perhaps Ojus
first just to get a little more real experience. Perhaps he could parlay his
popularity into a career in show biz. I would expect that Mr. Obama would
be a killer contestant in “Dancing With the Stars”, probably a lot smoother
than Delay. I commend Mr. Obama for continuing to follow Mr. Bush’s plan in
Afghanistan, and his decision not to scrap the Bush Patriot Act. It was the
Patriot act that helped bust the current rash of 5 Muslim plots to kill us
in our homeland. I salute his reluctance to close Gitmo, his continuing
pursuit of Mr. Bush’s policies in Iraq. Plus I like his choice of suits. |

[Bum
Vacation Cozumel]
It sounds like the person who wrote about how much they disliked Cozumel
stayed in one of the budget hotels. There are a number of fine resort
hotels along the west side of the island. And yes, thousands of divers
every year do enjoy a couple of drift dives daily seeing the turtles and
fish, the amazing pristine coral reef, sharks and other pelagics. The dive
at Punta Sur (Devil’s Throat) is spectacular to say the least and not for
the faint of heart.
As
far as the food goes they must have had all their meals at the budget hotel
also. They obviously missed Casa Denis home of the best tacos anywhere,
Costa Brava for breakfast (the Motolenos are excellent), Prima for northern
Italian and seafood, El Capi’s for great seafood dinners with many choices
prepared tableside, Plaza Leza for mouth watering enchiladas and chili
rellenos and La Choza for pasole and super lunches. (Guess they missed
Subway and Pizza Hut too)
They
also obviously didn’t take the time to go to the Mayan ruins of San Gervasio
and spend a half day seeing what Mayan culture was like a thousand years ago
nor did they bother to enjoy a day at Chankanaab Park and swim with the
dolphins and enjoy a day on the white sand beach. No doubt they also missed
the Museum Cozumel with great displays and dioramas of the history of the
island.
Had
they bothered to actually take the time to travel the full perimeter island
road they would have seen Bob’s Marley Bar (yes, that’s how it’s spelled)
and enjoyed a cold beverage relaxing in a hammock and listened to some
Reggae, toured the lighthouse at the south point, took in the view from the
Top of the Island bar and restaurant and then found Mezcalitos, home of the
best margaritas and grilled shrimp on the island.
Some
people are never happy no matter where they are. I would suggest to them
that they stick to Disneyland and a quick photo op with Mickey and friends.
(By the way, if you go to New Jersey, don’t drink the water) |

Now
we have the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake to contend with. It is
the most dangerous venomous snake in North America. To many people, the only
good snake is a dead snake. A better truism has never been spoken. This is
not the typical type of female snake that that you usually see sitting on a
bar stool at the local tiki bar. It is true that the diamondback is a highly
venomous snake that can give a deadly bite. This pit viper delivers enough
venom in one bite to kill three average weight adult humans or one
overweight female waitress. Hopefully your small child doesn’t play out in
your weed infested overgrown yard where these deadly cold blooded child
killers like to sunbath. A rattle snake will only bite for two reasons: fear
or food. So, whatever you do, don’t piss off the snake or try hand feeding
it.
A
mature rattlesnake can live for 10 to 20 years and grow to 6 feet and weigh
about 15 pounds. With long sharp piercing fangs and big venom glands, it can
inject a huge amount of venom deep into its victims. You have only a 30%
survival rate if bitten or you could die within 8 hours from sitting in the
waiting room if go to the Florida Memorial hospital.
Being bit by one
of these not so friendly snakes is best described as instant pain "like two
hot hypodermic needles," and causes spontaneous bleeding from the bite site,
intense internal pain, bleeding from the mouth, vomiting, hypotension and a
weak pulse, swelling and discoloration of the affected limb and associated
severe pain followed by death if untreated. No worries here. You might want
to think twice before you go skinny dipping at night in your polluted canal,
the blue hole or in your outdoor heated pool as rattlesnakes are known to be
excellent swimmers.
Ann Kill More of the National Snake refuge stated and was
printed in the Keys Barometer that the recent increase in the
rattlesnake population is actually a good thing from a biological stand
point because snakes help control the smaller critters and birds. She
implied that the large diamondbacks eat a regular diet of small puppies,
kittens, young chickens, small endangered marsh rabbits and fledgling bald
eagles. This keeps the Animal Rescue Death League from having to execute
these lovely critters after they are captured.
Officer Dopey of the Florida Wild Snake commission recommends
that you call him if you find a rattlesnake in your soon-to-be foreclosed
house and he will catch it and have it relocated. Is Dopey nuts or what? You
should take out your high power iguana/chicken killing pellet gun and shoot
the snake dead. One quick head shot works the best. If you want to watch if
suffer for awhile, shoot it about 3 inches behind the head. Try for a clean
spine shot. The spine will be shattered and the dying snake might roll
around for about ½ hour before the cosmic sky wizard snake God takes it up
to heaven. You might have a great photo op here. Remember, you now have
really pissed off the dying snake so don’t attempt to hand feed it and the
only good snake is a dead snake.
Some of these deadly pit viper snakes will soon become the
victim of yellow center line road kills, and indiscriminate assassination by
enlightened educated local yokels’. The dead pit viper can be added to the
menu for your next crock pot road kill feast. |

[Flat
Beer] Does anyone know how to make beer go flat so I can use it in a
beer batter recipe that calls for flat beer? My beer doesn’t last long
enough to go flat. the stuff I don't drink I tried boiling, but it only
increased the fermentation and made more bubbles. |

[Nuclear Iran] Iran says they have a right to nuclear
weapons. This is the same country that denies the Holocaust, says Israel is
evil, supports terrorism and vowed to destroy Israel.
Nukes in Iran’s hands is not a very good idea. What does the
world think Iran will do with a nuclear bomb? They want it to destroy
Israel. |

We have no chance of securing that country until the people trust their

According to Property Appraiser website: In 2/8/2007 a Key West house
was bought for $425.000. The owners paid $35,000 above the 2006 market
value, then put in $40,000 improvements, which the County knew about, and
their assessed value still did not increase, and there are no exemptions,
and it's not homesteaded. |

[Cucumber]
Poor ole Leon at Winn Dixie works in produce and pushes carts out in the hot
sun (he has a pacemaker). I heard he got the axe. Why? Because he held up a
cucumber like it was his wiener. Someone needs to step in and be sure he
gets his proper benefits, and that he doesn’t get screwed by an even bigger
vegetable: heartless Winn Dixie. Give me a break. This country is so pent up
about any sexual innuendo, and sexual suppression that they haven't heard
the news? Suppression breeds violence. So lets give ole Leon a break. I
think he shows a good sense of humor. Winn Dixie you’re just plain hopeless.
We in this community support you, and don’t forget that, by-crackie. Be damn
sure Leon gets his due. You shysters, you. Go get laid. |

[Responsibility]
The decisions we make today, individually and collectively, will determine
whether the planet goes to hell or goes to Heaven. One thing, however, is
sure: we are the transitional generation. The critical choices lie in our
hands. Future generations will know who we were. They will think of us
often. They will curse us, or they will bless us. |

[Noah's
Ark] Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark.
Don't miss the boat. Remember that we are all in the same boat. Plan ahead.
It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark. Stay fit. When you're 600 years
old, someone may ask you to do something really big. Don't listen to
critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done. Build your future
on high ground. For safety sake, travel in pairs.. Speed isn't always an
advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. When you're stressed,
float a while. Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by
professionals. No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a
rainbow waiting. |

The
Monroe County Tourist Development Council (TDC) only received $27
million for its 2010 budget. How can tourism survive on such a small
pittance? All those TV ads, videos and brochures they produce must cost a
few big bucks. I’m sure no one is milking the money tit dry with their
overpaid paid jobs and tax payer paid benefits. The Keys are probably an
easy sell as the Florida Keys are like a found and forever lost paradise.
Great weather year round, hurricanes and evacuations included, beautiful
polluted pristine beaches, great overly priced restaurants, not so friendly
foreign speaking wait staff, highly unreasonable luxury accommodations, a
great divorce rate, no financial fraud, unrealistic real estate prices, zero
foreclosures, up front politics and low life employment opportunities. But
all is not wine and sunshine in the Keys. There are those nasty little Lyme
ticks from the diseased key deer that can kill you. What about the 20 pound
Gambian rats running around? How about the lovely iguanas that eat all your
plants? What about those recently relocated deadly Lion fish, quickly
becoming the Lion King of the ocean? The Malagasy ducks that s**t all over
your dock. Then there are the pork sandwiches that can give you a deadly
dose of Swine flu. Those pesky biting skeeters that we spend millions to
control that carry the dengue plague. How about those 8 foot pythons that
are migrating south faster than the illegal workers coming from overseas?
Why is it that none of the truth about living in paradise while being under
taxed and overpaid isn’t advertised by the TDC? (Thieves Don’t Complain)

[Restaurant Review] I tried the new Wharf restaurant
on Summerland Key. Bright and shiny new, average and somewhat limited lunch
menu, full bar. But, overpriced is putting it gently. Be prepared
to pay plenty for just average fish sandwiches. Fish dinners are $20 and
served on plastic plates and you sit on lawn chairs. |

[Realtor Review] I am the person who wrote in Tuesday
(Printed Wednesday) asking if anyone knew anything about Crocker & Wagner
because I was considering calling them after I decided to fire my Realtor
team for over charging me and lieing about it. All I wanted to know is if
they were new and were any good. That's all. Someone wrote in yesterday,
Friday, with quite the attack. If someone needs to vent like that call your
mother don't publicly write that here unless it is proven fact.
Friday's posting was totally uncalled for and none of it has
ever been proven. I commend the person who wrote in today saying pretty
much exactly what I am saying here. If they did that to you and didn't show
your offer call the seller directly. Their name is public record. The
phone number should be easy to get in the Google age. If you prove your
accusation to be fact then go after them in court and call them out in
public. Innocent until proven guilty is still the law isn't it? Like
yesterday's poster mentioned. This attack on Crocker & Wagner had no fact
behind it and was worse than anything written about two nasty facts. One
Real Estate Broker sexually assaulted a 5 year old and admitted it asking
for a plea agreement. That is fact that can be checked with The State
Attorney and it wasn't written up in such a nasty way. Another Realtor beat
up his girlfriend at a Realtor function in front of many witnesses. That is
fact. There were well over 100 witnesses and he was not publicly chastised
as badly as Friday's posting.
Not presenting an offer on a piece of real estate is illegal
and unethical but ask yourself one question. If you had to have an
unethical person, a child molester or a repeat wife beater living next door
to you which would you choose? |

The
Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act
would establish a nationwide system for prohibiting
unlicensed gun-ownership. If approved, the law would require gun owners to
apply for five-year licenses to own firearms, and would give the U.S.
Attorney General broad authority over the program. This is a fringe bill
with no co-sponsors that has virtually zero chance of becoming law.
If
you have gotten an e-mail lately that talks about "Senate Bill 2099" and how
you are going to have to register your guns with the IRS and pay an extra
tax--don't worry, that e-mail is totally false. We looked into it, and HB
2099 does not even exist. But there is House Resolution 45 which, if
passed into law, would put restrictions on the sale and transfer of guns and
create a licensing system for people who own guns. HR 45 is currently in
the Judiciary Committee and one gun owner does not think it will go into
law. |

[Politics] I disagree with the man the Republicans ran
for the President. I don’t care how many times the head of the Republican
Party tells us that our troops were torturing terrorists. The man went on 60
Minutes and told the world our troops were committing torture. Yet the
republicans said nothing.
Obama wants to have talks with our enemies and republicans
scream from their rooftops. Yet those same republicans go on TV and scream
to the world how mean we are and call our own troops torturers. The Right in
this country has lost its moral high ground. I knew early on that
republicans pick and choose their morals like a thief picks his next crime.
Never believe a thief in your house. Just say “No thanks.” |

[From the Right]
It is charitable to be kind even to those who attack you. Today I will be
charitable and only point out the errors in yesterdays posting that claimed
that the Republicans take more money from special interests than do the
Democrats. That claim is just not true. Opensecrets.com tells us that in the
current cycle, the insurance industry has given our Dem friends $3.6 Mil,
the Reps, $2.9 Mil. Then we learn that the Lawyers and lobbyist gave the
Dems a whopping $19.1 Mil but The Reps only took $5.9 Mil. Check it out, the
donor dollar numbers from nearly every facet of our economy are there for
you to examine. I don't think that our Dem pals would want you to peek. Our
Dem legislators took lawyer bucks at a rate nearly 400% higher than the
Republicans. It is no wonder Republican Tort Reform was axed by the Dems, no
wonder they block real reform. The clueless liberal poster then said that
the Republicans have “no” plan for health care, and have never had one. The
liberal poster is again dead wrong, perhaps even maliciously wrong. During
GWB’s tenure there were several Republican attempts to reform health care,
plus on several occasions tort reform was attempted. In each instance the
Dems road blocked the legislation. Check it out for yourself. Currently,
HR3400 is the most recent of about 30 Republican attempts in this session
alone to have a voice in structuring genuine healthcare reform. In each of
these 30+ attempts to put forward real healthcare reform by the Republicans,
they were slammed down on straight party line votes. Our wrong headed
liberal poster than labels those who dissent against the current admin as
being “violent undemocratic hecklers”. We have all seen the spontaneous sea
of wrinkled faces and white hair at every event that dissents against
Obama’s efforts to socialize our nation. I see the faces of patriots. When I
see the busses full of union T shirted bullies, waving professional signs,
marching to the orchestration of Democrat paid organizers, pushing, shoving
and ranting left wing slogans. When I see protestors against Mr. Obama’s
policies getting pummeled by thugs. Then I see the faces of oppression. Then
I see history. Then I see Europe in the 1930’s. Now we see history repeating
with school children chanting the glory of a national leader. The
Republicans desperately want health care reform, it's in the best interests
of all of us. The Democrats block true reform. The Democrats demand a
scrapping of the best health care system on the planet and a grand march to
socialism for our American culture. To the Democrats it is not reform it is
redistribution. When I read postings so full of error, I am forced to wonder
if it is simply the mouthings of the misinformed, or is it scripted
misinformation. I become more and more convinced that the rank and file of
the Democrat party and its liberal camp followers are truly the folks who
just don’t know. The menacing thing is that they refuse to know.

The Republican Party is the home of Know Nothing wing nuts not because any
person says it's so, but by simple observation. Any thinking, moderate
American citizen will tell you the health care delivery system in this
country is broken. We who have used health insurance and have been rejected
by insurance companies, have had payments refused and premiums increased
dramatically understand that we are powerless in the face of their arrogant
monopoly. It will take government intervention to make a change for the good
of working American citizens.
The term wing nut is applied to the members of a the political party, the
Republicans, who refuse, on the grounds of party political strategy, to
acknowledge this situation. The Republicans did nothing to alleviate
("improve") this situation in the eight years they were in power because the
Republican party is an extension of the needs of Big Business ( check out
the amounts of money they use to lobby Republican versus Democrat members of
Congress). Now that the Democrats are trying to craft meaningful change to
benefit working Americans the wing nuts are just saying "No!" to all and any
suggestions to improve our insurance situation. They aren't offering their
suggestions, they have none, they are just turning out in bands of
violent undemocratic hecklers to shout down sensible discussion about the
best way to effect menaingful change to help working Americans. If they
aren't wing nuts, what are they? |

If al-Qaeda,
the Taliban and the rest of the Looney Tunes brigade want to
kick America to death, they had better move in quickly and
grab a piece of the action before Barack Obama finishes the
job himself. Never in the history of the United States has a
president worked so actively against the interests of his
own people - not even Jimmy Carter.
Obama's problem is that he does not know who the enemy is.
To him, the enemy does not squat in caves in Waziristan,
clutching automatic weapons and reciting the more militant
verses from the Koran: instead, it sits around at tea
parties in Kentucky quoting from the US Constitution. Obama
is not at war with terrorists, but with his Republican
fellow citizens. He has never abandoned the campaign trail.
That is why he opened Pandora's Box by publishing the
Justice Department's legal opinions on waterboarding and
other hardline interrogation techniques. He cynically
subordinated the national interest to his partisan desire to
embarrass the Republicans. Then he had to rush
to Langley , Virginia to try to reassure a demoralized CIA
that had just discovered the President of the United
States was an even more formidable foe than al-Qaeda..
"Don't be discouraged by what's happened the last few
weeks," he told intelligence officers. Is he kidding? Thanks
to him, al-Qaeda knows the private interrogation techniques
available to the US intelligence agencies and can train its
operatives to withstand them - or would do so, if they had
not already been outlawed.
So, next time a senior al-Qaeda hood is captured, all the
CIA can do is ask him nicely if he would care to reveal when
a major population centre is due to be hit by a terror
spectacular, or which American city is about to be
irradiated by a dirty bomb. Your view of this situation will
be dictated by one simple criterion: whether or not you
watched the people jumping from the twin towers...
President Pantywaist's recent world tour, cozying up to all
the bad guys, excited the ambitions of America 's enemies.
Here, they realized, is a sucker they can really take to the
cleaners.
His only enemies are fellow Americans.
Which prompts the question: why does President Pantywaist
hate America so badly?

"Those who do not
live in Fantasyland understand that the only options are:
- To
greatly increase
taxes
on middle- and lower-income groups (a political
nonstarter).
- To
`fund' all of the new spending by selling bonds to the
private market at much higher
interest rates
(thus sucking out private capital and increasing the
cost of homeownership, which will lead to slower growth
and higher unemployment).
- To
have the central bank (the Fed) buy the new debt
(leading to higher
rates
of inflation, making everyone poorer).
- Or
for the government to act responsibly and reduce
spending."

Let's
see.......Mr. Mark Hooper was given the job of Keys Center Counselor at
Marathon High School as a consequence of the School Board's demotion for
mishandling oversight responsibilities as the Education Career Coordinator.
Mr. Hooper got the blessing of then Superintendent Randy Acevedo (now 3 time
convicted felon) and current Principal Harry Russell for his newly assigned
position. How much experience does Hooper have working with at risk youth?
We know he doesn't have the minimum educational requirement of a Masters
Degree.
A reasonable person might think this fix was arranged because Mr. Hooper
campaigned non-stop for Randy Acevedo during school time and it is rumored
he used construction supplied for Acevedo’s campaign.
Jerry Dykhuisen, a well respected counselor was dismissed by Harry Russell
with Acevedo’s blessing. Mr. Dykhuisen had glowing personnel reviews and
his only mistake was contributing $50 to Randy Acevedo’s political
opponent. Mr. Dykhuisen already has a Masters Degree and twelve years
experience working with at risk youths.
Principal Russell did not anticipate how incompetent he would look, how his
Marathon High School's reputation would be damaged and most importantly what
a disservice this does to the at risk children who desperately need
specialized care. These children do not deserve someone who needs "on the
job training" like Mr. Hooper. "Student Success....How Much Can We Take"
needs to end.
Please, Fix the Fix, Dr. Burke. |

After living

fortunate to have this insular community where they can run things
without competition, since they mostly haven't got enough sense to
"pour piss out of a boot" as the old saying goes. Greed and
stupidity seem to be the main ingredients here now. But- they are in

restaurant, school administration, junior college, etc. And we await
the unveiling of their next fiasco, already in the works-a new city
hall. Who will get (has) the construction contracts?

The Prez and his band of not so
merry persons keep barraging us with words and dire warnings telling
us how vital passage of Obamacare is. They suggest that our nation
will suffer grievously if their scheme fails. They put in place
deadline dates, then they change them. They keep changing what’s in
and what’s out according to the breaking winds of politics. All of
this is pure stinking donkey dung. If all of this is so freaking
vital and such a freaking immediate problem, why are none of the
versions of Obamacare to go into effect immediately? None of them
activate until 2012. They know that the plans are full of horrific
consequences that will fundamentally change our way of life. They
want to avoid the backlash until after the 2012 elections. That’s
craven politics and also the reason that the vast majority of the
stimulus funds don’t go into effect until just before the 2010
Congressional elections. Then the Dems will have plenty of DC money
to slather on their locals and the debt mess won’t come home to
roost before the elections. |

What did Crocker & Wagner do to deserve the write up they got today? How
can anyone be that bad? If you have proof they didn't show your offer to a
seller contact the seller and go after them legally. That will hurt their
wallet and hurt their license. The write up today was the worst attack I've
seen on anyone on here in quite some time. Did they deserve that? Sounds
like someone lost a bidding contest and is pissed. I don't know anything
about Crocker & Wagner but I do know for fact that another local Realtor
molested his daughter from the time she was 5 years old and another beat up
his girl friend at a Realtor Function and was supported by his Broker 100%
after it but neither of them got the write up that Crocker & Wagner did. If
they didn't turn in an offer it is very unethical but not as unethical as
child molestation or beating a woman or a well known Broker supporting a man
who beat a woman. Whoever wrote that posting today needs help or just has a
personal beef with Crocker & Wagner. That post today was just childish. |

In the Baucus Obamacare bill, a Dem demanded amendment will
require thatif you refuse to buy government approved health
insurance, and you refuse to pay the $1900 penalty, you will be
charged with a misdemeanor crime and could be sent to jail for
up to a year, or a $25,000 fine. The Joint Committee on Taxation
Chief of Staff, Tom Barthold, confirmed that in a memo sent to
Sen. John Ensign on Thursday. Aside from that, this debt picture
is getting really frightening, you should check out:

cut the Medicare spending, it’s called “Cash for Codgers”.

Well, well, well! Our Dear
Leader, the Beloved and Highly Respected Barrak Hussein Obama spoke
unto the world. President Barrak Hussein Obama, savant of the Muslim
mind, said: “Mea Culpa world, I’m so sorry that America and
Americans are assholes”. That message was to make the world love us.
Has the Obama charm changed the world? We are now begining to reap
the harvest of his message. Here in the U.S. we are stunned with the
headlines about the current 4 deadly Muslim plots (the only ones
we’ve been told about) to kill us in our own homes. Overseas our
allies are shunning us and AQI has begun to flourish again. Our
beloved and highly respected President seems to be preparing to
retreat from Afghanistan. But, but, but, I thought that all we had
to was to make nice with our enemies and they would make nice with
us. Iran is starting it’s countdown to nuking Israel. Israel is
loading it’s planes for a preemptive strike. Iran still has as it’s
rallying slogan “Death to America”. Our oldest and best allies, The
Britts are really, really, pissed at us. We’ve abandoned the Poles
and other E. European to the Russians. Aren’t we all so very proud
of our Dear Leader, what a super dooper job he has done in the last
9 months. Gee Whillickers! What the hell is next? |

[Crocker & Wagner Real Estate] I can give you an
eye full and more. If I don't tell you enough about them call The Key
West Realtor's Board and ask for the Ethics Committee. They go in front
of them on a regular basis. If that doesn't work call FREC (Florida
Real Estate Commission) in Orlando. Their disciplinary committee has
heard of them too. They are not new. They started as Conch Republic
Realty who sold out to Century 21 Key Search. Then they got into the
foreclosure racket like most realtors have.
If you want to buy a house listed with them you better
grease their palms. There have been three houses they had for sale that
I have made offers on through my realtor that works for another
company. In all three cases I was told I was out-bid. All three houses
closed at a later date than I was prepared to close on. All three
closed for far less money than I offered and all three buyers were
represented by Crocker & Wagner. Two of those three had a buyer who had
to obtain financing when I offered cash and a letter from my bank
proving the funds with each offer. I have FREC looking into it now but
I don't believe my offer was ever shown to the bank who owned the
foreclosure. I have been trying to call Bank of America/Countrywide to
get the asset manager who was in charge of each house and ask.
It will take a lot of red tape but I am determined. I
will get to the right person and if my offer was not shown as I believe,
Crocker & Wagner will be exposed. I hope that once my story is printed
here others will come forward and tell the same so we can run them out.
They (Crocker & Wagner) see it coming. They have already opened
branches in Naples and Orlando for when they get exposed here. Maybe
they see the end is near? ~bigpineboy@gmail.com |

[Shut up and read this!] Americans are getting
ruder! No more Mr. Nice Guy, apparently. Seventy-five percent (75%) of
adults say Americans are becoming ruder and less civilized, according to
a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Women under the age
of 40 feel more strongly than any other age group that Americans are
becoming ruder and less civilized. But overwhelmingly in every
demographic category, Americans say the behavior of their fellow
countrymen is coarsening. Fifty-one percent (51%) of Americans say they
have had to confront someone because of his or her rude behavior in
public. But 45% say they’ve never had to do that. By 11 points, men are
more likely than women to have confronted a person who is being rude in
public. Those ages 18 to 29 are far more likely to have done so than
those who are older.
Adults are evenly divided over whether recent rude
behavior by public figures like rap star Kanye West, tennis pro Serena
Williams and Joe Wilson, the congressman who called out “you lie” during
President Obama’s recent speech to Congress, makes the situation worse.
Forty-one percent (41%) say these actions lead to more rude behavior by
Americans, but 38% disagree. |

[Green
Flash] Although I have not experienced the green flash myself, I
have heard accounts that describe the phenomenon to be more dramatic
than the picture yesterday. Please forgive me if I'm wrong but in
today's Photoshop world, all images are subject to scrutiny.
The experienced tell me that at the rare moment when
conditions are right, the sun's light is brilliantly magnified for one
fleeting millisecond when the fiery orb drops just below the horizon
line at sea in the lower latitudes. This moment is the last direct
light of the day because we are now in the shadow of the curvature
of our globe. This last light seems green amplified through the ocean's
water and makes sea and sky all the same color for that blink of an
eye.
Yesterday's photo appears to maybe be the sun or the moon
shining behind a cloud bank and the redness of the photo makes me think
it may have been taken on Mars.
I will continue to watch for that green flash, just like
always |

[Avoid
Swine by Eating and Drinking Right] Make sure you get your daily
dose of fruits and veggies. Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin
C. Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune
system. Walk for at least an hour a day. Go for a swim. Take the stairs
instead of the elevator, etc. Wash your hands often. If you can't wash
them, keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around. Get lots of fresh
air. Open doors and windows whenever possible. Try to eliminate as much
stress from your life as you can. Get plenty of rest.
Or take the doctor's approach. When you go for a flu
shot, what do they do first? They clean your arm with alcohol. Why?
Because alcohol kills germs. So my regime is to walk to the liquor store
(exercise). I put lime in my lager (fruit). Celery in my Bloody Mary
(veggies). Drink outdoors on the bar patio (fresh air). Tell jokes and
laugh (eliminate stress). Then pass out (rest). The way I see it, if you
keep your alcohol levels up flu germs can't get you.
My grandmother always said, “A shot in the glass is
better than one in the ass!” Live well and laugh often. |

[Water]
If you thought that oil prices ruled, I just rented this movie Blue
Gold: World Water Wars.
President Bush Sr. and Jr., while in office, purchased
over 400,000 acres of land in Paraguay, near the world's largest dam
which just happens to be near a military base we built there. There are
50,000 dams in the world. In some countries right now, people are paying
more for water than for food. The Great Lakes were even threatened by
Nestle owned Perrier, S. Pellegrino, Deer Park, Ice Mountain and many
more bottled water brands. Who knew? This eye popping movie is a must
see.

[Respect the President] I find it amusing to read

[Obama to be Assassinated]
I am not psychic do not have a crystal ball, but even a blind man could
have seen this coming. The American people woke up, and Obama became an
anvil, chained around the neck of the D.C. Liberals and the Bildenburg
Group. Not my words, it is the opinion of a Canadian political analyst
by the name of JB Williams.
He makes some very interesting and scary observations from the outside
looking in. He recons that Obama will be very lucky if he lives to write
his memoirs. The threat is not from the right but from his handlers who
put him in office. After the protests in D.C. he has become a liability
to the Democrats. JB feels that Mr. George Soros, already has the patsy
picked out, and they have a weapon with his fingerprints on it. Go ahead
and laugh, but it happened before. Remember these folks spent a billion
dollars to put their boy in a $400,000 a year job. They are not the kind
of people to be disappointed. They make Al Capone look like choir boy. |

[From the Right] Sara Palin, Idiot? It’s no wonder
that liberal hair is flashing afire all over the blogosphere at the
mention of her name. Gov Palin is seen as the single biggest current
threat to liberal politicians. Ms. Palin just earned a $250K speaking
fee paid by executives from 32 countries with $10 Trillion worth of
assets amongst them who came from all over the world to Hong Kong to
hear her speak. I suppose that there are not too many dummies amongst
them. I suppose that they could have paid the bigpinekey.com poster who
called her an idiot, but they didn’t. There have been about a thousand
requests for her to speak, and at least 120 candidates have asked her to
appear on their behalf. I love the smell of singed liberal locks in the
morning, it portends victory.
(Part II)
When, oh, when will more Americans just pay attention to what’s going on
in D.C.? President Obama, time after time, has solemnly promised us: “If
you like the health care coverage you have, you will be able to keep
it”. The Republicans attempted to make that Obama promise the law of the
land, at every try, the Democrats, on straight party line votes, killed
the legislation. Then there is the issue that President Obama and his
surrogates have promised all America that Obamacare would not strip
Medicare of benefits. Thursday we learned that the non partisan CBO
headed by an Obama appointee (Doug Elmendorf) says that the Obamacare
plan to pay 120 billion of the costs, would strip that money from
Medicare Advantage, reducing benefits to the poor elderly by as much as
50%. Medicare Advantage has about 11 million, largely lower income
seniors enrolled; it’s about 1 in 5 of all Medicare enrollees. Medicare
Advantage provides many low income seniors with health check ups and
routine medical care. Our Florida Senator Nelson said yesterday that
this approach is “unconscionable”. Remember when we were gulled into
believing that the public option had been dropped by President Obama.
That has been proven to be even more perfidy on the part of President
Obama. His surrogates, Senators Rockefeller and Schumer, probably today,
will introduce yet another amendment to the Baucus bill to require the
public option. These people are like vampires, we need to find an oak
stake, a silver bullet, and we all must wear cloves of garlic. Sunshine
must be coming soon. |

I found odd is that The Citizen didn't mention that a certain, very

fact whereas it's all public record. I don't know how some people stay in

[Fighting
City Hall] The city of Key West has been talking about building a new
city hall for years. It seems that the commission has now approved
demolishing and rebuilding the city hall, fire station and parking garage in
the current location on Angela. The nature of construction is that it
generally costs more than expected and takes longer than expected to
complete. At this point the costs of this project are estimated to be 18
million. There is over one million dollars in new furnishings budgeted and
one million in relocation costs for employees while construction is
underway.
The city hired the architectural firm of mbi/k2 to research
various sites for the location of city hall. When this study was done we
had a different School Superintendent. The County School System owns
several properties in the city and are now anticipating moving some of their
operations out of the city of Key West and into Marathon and Stock Island.
Because of this there are now options that were never considered that could
indeed serve as a viable option for a centrally located City Hall that would
be easily accessible to both workers and citizens and cost the tax payers
less money in the end.
What the city needs in the downtown area is more parking to
provide for tourists and to alleviate the stress on the neighborhoods
especially during high season. Construction of the new city hall which
could take years to complete will eliminate all of the existing parking
during that construction. The location of the current city hall needs to
become additional parking, and some green space for our residents and
visitors. City Hall does not need to be in the middle of the historic
district and the middle of the business and tourist district. It needs to
be in a central location away from the main tourist traffic areas.
We are in a recession. Our population is already having
difficulty surviving in this economy. Tax money can be used for other needs
that will improve the quality of life of the residents, not to extend a
minimum of 18 million of our tax dollars to build a palace for city
employees in the wrong location.
The commission and city manager should re-open discussions
with the school board and it’s new superintendent to determine the
feasibility of relocating city hall to another site that would best serve
the residents and businesses in Key West.
Thursday September 23, 2009 the city budget that will fund
the new city hall is to be approved at a meeting at Old City Hall at 6pm.
You still have a say on how your tax money is spent. If you are opposed to
the city spending 18 million dollars on building a new grand city hall in
the wrong location, Please show up. Your voice will be heard!
These are our tax dollars

[Separation of Church and State] Rev. Chris Todd of
St. Francis in the Keys Episcopal Church told board members that forcing
Finance Director Kathy Reitzel to resign will prevent other finance
directors and bookkeepers around the county from reporting theft and fraud
in their organizations. Reitzel earns $500 a month in retirement and
shouldn't have been fired because she turned in former Adult Education
Coordinator Monique Acevedo in March.
"You don't think Kathy Reitzel didn't bring it up fast
enough? Next time it will take that much longer," Todd said. "The
bookkeepers of Monroe County have gotten the message: 'Don't rock the boat
or you'll end up like Kathy Reitzel. You know what happens to heroes; they
lose their careers".
"The sociopaths and white-collar criminals know it's better
to be caught doing wrong than to be caught exposing wrong. Don't make
yourself a target like Kathy Reitzel. The children of Monroe County have
learned this lesson in civics: 'If you try to do the right thing, they'll
try to crush you like Kathy Reitzel.'"
Rev. Todd, don't you think you are incorrect in your
assumptions? Where in your teachings does it take into consideration it is
right to steal? Being truthful and upfront doesn't count anymore? Don't
you believe you’re on the wrong tract putting this type of information out

[Wing nuts] By labeling people in a group then
determining a whole group of people to be wing nuts you can eliminate all
their ideas weather they be well thought out, intelligent or not. It does
not matter. If they belong to a certain party they are labeled and their
ideas aren't worth anything. That is what the media and others push on
people. When you buy into it we all lose. One side does not have to listen
to the other side's ideas because they are all a bunch of liberal communists
or a bunch of right wing nuts and racists.
Those labels which you and most use detract from the exchange
of ideas just as you have shown. It is not just the Liberals that use the
race card, but both groups. Race does not play into policy unless the policy
is about race. You are buying into the media's representation that people
are against Obama due to race. Both sides are using this at this point, but
in different ways. They do this to anger you against the other side over
something that does not affect policy. The right also gains from this race
card and uses it. They drum up support from weak people by using fear. So
you see both sides are using it now to gain support for their "side." They
will even label themselves. Everyone including your favorite talking head
and "news" channel has their own agenda. And they will push it without
regard.
You see both sides lose when ideas, policy and proposals are
discussed. Then you would find out the true differences or lack there of
between the two parties. You and many others would realize they both are
moving toward the same end goal. Both sides just want power, to gain
power and to stay in power. They gain this power by taking it from you. I
can think of many policies Bush put in place that I despise. But Obama has
not changed them. Stay in the dark and believe everything is the way you see
it. They keep people divided so they can keep their power. They know they
will be in control for a few elections then lose. But they know who they are
going to lose to. It’s a never ending cycle, but in reality they always win
and we always lose.
Too many buy into the media's ideas or propaganda. The idea
that many believe Obama is not a citizen or is a Muslim is pushed with an
agenda from both sides for a reason. The reason is to divert attention from
what matters. I know many that do not agree with the current and former
administrations’ polices, not one of them believe Obama is a Muslim or
Kenyan. One should not believe everything on TV as everyone has an agenda
even if it is hidden. I also know a couple that was at the resent
demonstrations in Washington. I saw her and her husbands photos. They were
nothing like what I saw on any news channel. Not FOX, MSN or CNN. They were
a bunch of old people, mostly couples, and some holding hands just walking
around. They saw two racist flags or stations set up. That is out of about
65,000 people.
Labeling does make it easier to counter ideas. Just label
them racist, tell yourself racists have no good ideas, and that you are
better then them. Then you can do whatever you want. What a wonderful
feeling. May I have a sip of your Kool-aid? |

Appliances] We have probably all seen the big list of uses for WD-40.
Not on the list, but it works so great it should be on the top: Cleaning and
making streak free you stainless steel appliances.
The big trend is
stainless steel appliances. Women soon found out that they were a pain to
keep clean and looking good. They finger printed easily and showed streaks
easily. Our dishwasher looked terrible. I cleaned the surface with an all
surface cleanser and it still didn't look good. It showed spots and streaks.
I then went to the
garage and found my WD-40. Wow is an understatement. It not only cleaned the
surface and made it streak free but it put a shine on it that it never had
before.
I waited a day to see if it would dry or fade back to the spotty streaky
thing I started with and to my surprise it looked exactly he same the next
day and the next. Two weeks later it still looks like the first day I shined
and cleaned it. I grabbed the cleaning cloth and with dish soap and water
cleaned and rinsed our other stainless appliances and WD-40'd them. They all
look better than new and seem to stay that way! |

[Afghanistan] Those who cannot learn from history are
doomed to repeat it. ~George Santayana
The Massacre of Elphinstone's Army was a victory of Afghan
forces, led by Akbar Khan, the son of Dost Mohammad Khan, over a combined
British and British Raj force, led by William Elphinstone, in January 1842.
After the British troops captured Kabul in 1839, an Afghan uprising forced
the occupying garrison out of the city. The British army, consisting of
4,500 troops and 12,000 working personnel or camp-followers, left Kabul on
January 6, 1842. They attempted to
reach the British garrison at Jalalabad, 90 miles away, but were immediately
harassed by Afghan forces. The last remnants were eventually annihilated
near Gandamak on January 13. Only one
man, the assistant surgeon William Brydon, survived and managed to reach
Jalalabad. |

It
is estimated that every day about 250,000 animals get killed by cars on
American roads. That’s over a hundred million road kill victims each year.
Sounds like a lot of free food, doesn’t it? Covert that to pounds of fresh
edibles and the number is staggering. That’s a lot of free splat and spatter
food fresh off the bumper for the ‘Meals by Wheels” food program that
started just after the ‘Cash for Hags” and ‘Switch a Bitch’ nationalist
social rebate programs in late 2009.
I have become an
enthusiastic promoter of the road kill program “meals by wheels” and work
hard to spread information and the skills to empower other people to tap
into this huge available food supply. I have started a delivery service for
my hot fresh flat meat meals and squashed deer jerky. I do a good amount of
traveling on the do-it-yourself skill sharing circuit in the Lower Keys.
Teaching people how to judge the edibility of double yellow center line
yummies found on the animal highway supermarket and guiding them through the
pleasure of skinning and cleaning the deceased animal. At the 2008
gathering at the Lunatics Anonymous convention, one of the most memorable
events was the hands-on road kill workshop, in which we learned about the
cleaning, skinning, and butchering of road kill animals. One of the Lunatics
brought a fresh road killed bald eagle with her. Another road kill
enthusiast brought a large dead black snake he had found while he was biking
to the gathering. People enthusiastically took front-row seats to see these
animals get gutted and skinned. Some people shuddered in horror, had to look
away or otherwise expressed their squeamishness. Most people watched
quietly, fascinated as I de-feathered and quartered the bald eagle and my
girlfriend skinned the large black snake. My girlfriend and I prepared the
poultry and snake in a nice presentation and the attendees commented on how
truly delicious it was (if they didn’t think about eating bald eagle and
black snake fresh off the road). I also showed them how to make a deluxe
Winn Dixie barbeque grill out of any abandoned metal shopping cart. Why
waste your O-Banana bucks for a grill when you can find abandoned shopping
carts all over the islands.
Road kill has been
a source of food for poor people since there have been cars. Eating road
kill generally has a pejorative classist connotation, epitomizing ignorant
Appalachian Mountain Americans (hillbillies) behavior. Now I and other
enthusiasts are embracing road kill with a political ideology, rejecting the
values of consumer culture by “transforming dishonored victims of the
automobile age into food which nourishes, and clothing which warms.”
I will soon have a
limited edition Key deer skin bound, road kill cook book on the market
called the ‘Bluff-Kins Diet’ and co-authored by Ann Kill More. Both women
will periodically be in front of Key deer refuge center on Big Pine Key to
do book signings. Some sample recipes of the 200 listed in the book: deer
butt sausage, grilled fawn burgers, lower Keys doe cakes, pan seared deer
liver, pickled deer hooves, doe maggotini, A1-A road kill stew, flaming fawn
flanks, doe droppings chili, deer splat-kebabs and the young buck stopped
here pepper steak.
The next time you're driving down the highway supermarket and
you feel a hard thud against the bumper, don't get upset. Get out of the car
and start thinking up a great recipe! A word of caution: watch out for
imbedded road gravel in the meat while washing down your free road killed
Key deer feast with a few beers. |

something else that is no longer politically correct) can be amazing. Here's

[Socialist] I find when somebody wants to dispute the
piddling distinctions between socialism versus communism, I have a socialist
on my hands. I hate to waste my time discussing what degree of disease a
society or an economy can endure. How 'bout a dose of HIV as long as
doesn't take the half step into full blown AIDS? Public schools serve
only to indoctrinate the distinguishing virtues of both, rather than teach
the terrible consequences of either.
Why is it that socialists have kept coming to America to make their fortune,
and in the process denigrate the very thing they are taking advantage of?
Socialist societies all around the world love to absorb anyone into their
vortex of impoverishment. Then after your money has evaporated, the
welcoming prison door slams behind you. Read "Capitalism and Freedom" by
Milton Friedman, just for starters. Please. |

[From the Right]
Some ditto head’s devotion to Limbaugh may well approach cultist intensity;
those few folks are foolish. Anyone who surrenders reason to adopt cultist
behavior does so because they made a choice to blindly accept and follow the
object of their adoration. To blindly adore and unquestioningly follow any
politician is un-American and a recipe for totalitarianism. To those of you
who unquestioningly accept the teachings of Mr. Obama, the term “cultist”
may make you uncomfortable, but it perfectly defines your behavior.
Yesterday a couple of left leaning individuals took offense at their being
identified as “cultists”. Their postings suggest that they feel that their
obeisance is a badge of patriotism. Certainly they should not be offended
if the description is accurate! One of Mr. Webster definitions of the term
is: “5 a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work.”
Thefreedictionary says, in part: “5.a. Obsessive, especially faddish,
devotion to or veneration for a person, principle, or thing”. Well Deer
Friends it seems to me that those are spot on definitions of the fevered
devotion that many of our left leaning posters have for Mr. Obama. Many of
these folks are truly cultists, so why do they take offense? These persons
have singled out Mr. Obama, a man, a craven politician as the object of
their adoration. These folks rarely, if ever speak to Mr. Obama’s policies,
ideas, his triumphs or failures. These folks will tolerate no criticism of
Mr. Obama whatsoever. That is especially true for those who refuse to
abandon their supremely racist view that anyone who would speak out against
Mr. Obama is being critical of him because of the accident of his racially
mixed parentage. I find the notion that any American can object to criticism
of Mr. Obama because he is “the (our) first black President” to be abhorrent
and grotesquely racist. By the way, this right winger did not post the piece
about Ms. Obama, if I had, I would have commented that every one of us had
damned well better lose weight before Mr. Obama imposes a tubby tax, he’s
actually working on it now with his tax sodas and sugar initiatives. Watch
out BPK, beer will soon be $10 a can.
(Part II) Senator
Baucus, continues to claim that Baucus’ Obamacare Bill won’t impact Medicare
benefits. It’s a fact that the current Obamacare iteration will require a
major cut in benefits to Medicare recipients. The Congressional Budget
Office confirmed that in hearings on Tuesday. Insurance companies have been
sending their customers information about that fact and about other deep
problems with Obamacare. Medicare has just ordered the insurance companies
to cease and desist spreading that news. Folks this reeks of ham handed
Chicago politics. It is an outrageous attack by the Obama admin on freedom
of speech. There will be much, much more on this. |

[Shopping
Obama Style] This is exactly what happens when the "Right" takes a
story from the internet and twists half truths (lies) out of it for the
purpose of insulting our President and his family. Yes, this article
was in the Washington Post, but you "neglected" to post the entire
article. The part you wrote was intended to be a funny introduction to
the rest of the article. Where's your sense of humor?
Michelle Obama was on hand to promote a local Farmer's
Market in Washington DC. This had been planned for months. Hundreds of
people showed up and listened to her and others give speeches about
healthy eating She has done a wonderful job in her efforts to encourage
all of us to eat home grown vegetables and grow our own gardens. It's
about time someone decided to promote a healthy lifestyle in America.
We are currently the most overweight population in the world. Our
children are getting fatter every year and our health care costs are
partly increasing because of diabetes and other weight related diseases.
We should all thank our First Lady for taking this on. If she can
inspire Americans to eat home grown vegetables instead of fried Twinkies
and pizza, we would all be better for it. Kudos to Michelle Obama! |

[Culling Key Deer] I find it humorous that the last name of the
manager of the Key Deer refuge is Morkill. There must be some type of
job security with a name like that. Morkill is like “kill more” road
kill so she can have a job with all the benefits sucking on the federal
government tit. I called the refuge to ask some questions about disposal
of road kill. After pressing 2 for something and 1 for nothing I finally
got another recorded message with a cell number for the person on call
that responds to calls for injured or dead key deer. At least the call
didn’t get forwarded to India. The phone was answered on the second
ring. I guess the person working was bored from sitting on their federal
funded ass and was hoping for a fresh bumper splat and splatter to give
them something to do.
I asked how the refuge disposed of the 75 plus road kills a year. He
stated that they just throw them in the woods and let the buzzards and
nature take its course. He also stated that if they have some type of
disease, like a brain abscess they are dumped in another spot with the
rest of the diseased deer. How would they know that the deer had a
brain abscess? He said that if they were injured there would have to be
a cost analyst done to see if it was cost effective to save the deer.
Let’s say the deer had a broken hip. Remember deer don’t have Medicaid.
You and I, the tax payers are paying for this s**t. He said that if the
deer was seriously injured they would have to put the deer down, like
they do with race horses. Is putting a deer down the same as execution?
How do they put deer down? One quick .30 cal rifle shot between the
eyes, who knows, maybe I should have asked? I wondered what the dollar
expenditure would have to exceed to have the deer put down. This sounds
a lot like the O-Banana death squad for the elderly under the new
socialist national health plan. I hope I don’t accidentally break a hip
and have to be shot in the head like a race horse because it is cost
effective.
If the number 75 plus represents the number of road kills per year, what
is the total number of deaths including the ones that the federal
employees humanly executed? In the states that have large deer herds
they have a hunting season to cull the herds. In the keys they extort
land from the owners so the herd will have more range to feed and breed.
Some day there will be no more land available to be extorted and as the
herd continues to over breed, there will have to be hunting season. A
good quality pellet rifle will drop a chicken or iguana with one clean
shot to the head. The only legal way at this time to drop the invasive
deer is with an intentional high speed vehicle impact. Road kill is the
only way that the deer herd is currently culled. They have even
relocated deer to Cudjoe Key since the Big Pine Key area population of
diseased deer has past its carrying capacity sustainable limit. They
have spent millions of our dollars on underpasses, fences and blinking
signs for the deer, but the number of road kills has not decreased, it
actually increased. I saw some buzzards on Blimp Road feeding on a deer
carcass that might have been thrown in the woods by the refuge employees
to let the buzzards and nature take its course. Soon there will be as
many free range deer as there are chickens. More deer, more road kill,
more flat meat for us human carnivores. Call the National Refuge center
305-872-0774 and ask for Morkill if you have any concerns.

[The 666 Chip] The Mondex Digital Chip for
Implanting in the Right hand or the Head-Mostly Fiction! This eRumor
comes in various forms including a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. It
describes new technology that can use tiny electronic chips to identify
the person who has the chip and that it could be part of a future
cashless society in which the chip would be used for financial exchanges
instead of money.
The eRumor also claims that the chip can be implanted into people's
bodies and that the two best places for it ware the right hand or the
head. The story hearkens to a Biblical passage in the book of
Revelation that describes "The Mark of the Beast," a system in which
buying and selling can take place only with the approval of a world
ruler who requires his mark to be on the right hand or forehead of every
living person. |

said "No" when it came to looking up the definition of cultist. Are

Has anyone bought or sold a house through the real estate company
Crocker & Wagner? They seem to have all the low price stuff but it all
seems to be in really bad shape. Anyone know anything about them? Are
they trustworthy? I had a realtor team I worked with for a few deals
but they really screwed me on the last one so I'm shopping for a new
realtor.
My former agents listed my house at 7%. The husband told
me it was split 50/50 between them and the buyer's agent and that by
offering 3.5% my property would be shown more than the 6% listings
offering only 3% each. I thought it made great business sense. When I
went to close I saw they kept 4% and only gave the other agent 3%. I
questioned them and the wife told me that it is always 4% to them to
cover advertising. The wife denied the conversation I had with her
husband. The husband wouldn't return my calls. Calling the company
owner was like talking to a rock. I won't name him until I decide what,
if anything I am going to do about this lie legally.
I bought three houses through them and listed two. Now I
need an agent to list the third and help me buy a new one. I'm in the
market for a new agent and this Crocker & Wagner seem to do a lot of
business. They have the rougher shape homes and that is what I buy, fix
and sell. |

Zombies
Are Coming! Based on models of rampant
infectious diseases, say researchers, civilization would be doomed if we
were ever attacked by zombies. If society were ever attacked by zombies,
we would probably be doomed, and quickly. That was the conclusion of two
university researchers in Ottawa, Ontario, who set up mathematical
models hypothesizing zombie attacks as infectious diseases with the
well-known characteristics of zombie biology from popular fiction. In
fact, according to a July BBC News report, zombies are more threatening
than virulent diseases because they can regenerate (unless decapitated
or incinerated, of course). More troubling was the researchers'
presumption that zombies move slowly, as in older movies, but in recent
fiction, they're super-quick, making them nearly invincible. |

[From the Right]
The latest
iteration of Obamacare is the Senate Bill sponsored by Senator Baucus,
Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. This bill was initially the
product of democrat and republican senators. Recently both the Dems and
Reps bailed out leaving Sen. Baucus holding the bag (bill). After all
the flack about the earlier Obamacare bills, the Baucus bill might seem
to be downright innocuous. But it’s not. There are several components
of the bill that are as noxious as anything that has come before.
First, Senator Baucus’s bill is promoted as being deficit neutral. It is
not. His figures are based on 6 years of costs, paid for by 10 years of
revenues. His bill relies in savings from Medicare and Medicaid, this
simply means reductions in care for the needy and the elderly. Sen.
Baucus has refused to allow a full and comprehensive assessment of the
bills cost by the Congressional Budget Office. Another objection to the
bill is that it would make purchase of "government approved" health
insurance an absolute legal requirement, failure to comply would result
in huge penalties. It is estimated a middle class family would be forced
to pay a penalty of $1900 per year, and then they still would not have
insurance. Our Dem pals can call this whatever they want, but it is
absolutely a new tax. The original estimate of the bill’s cost was to be
about $850 billion, the bill is now the object of at least 564
amendments with costs add-ons increasing the cost to about $1 trillion.
We simply can't afford any new big government spending. We're teetering
on the edge of real national bankruptcy.
(Part II)
At long last
Mr. Obama has taken a position that I can agree with. On The Letterman
Show he quipped, "I think it's important to realize that I was actually
black before the election." He said that while commenting that he didn’t
feel that most of criticism against him was racially motivated. He noted
that any President who attempts massive change is sure to receive vocal
and strong push back. Mr. Obama is absolutely correct on this issue.
But, it was shocking and stomach churning seeing him chatting with
Letterman about critical national defense issues. Incredibly he told
Letterman that he intended to question General McChrystal’s urgent plea
for additional troops in Afghanistan. The General's message is simple;
no new troops will equal defeat and all that goes with it. How much
farther can Mr. Obama go in disparaging our military and our nation? It
is becoming perfectly clear that Mr. Obama will not rest until the USA
is defeated and relegated to third world status. |

[From
a guy who rides the bus] Southbound, the Lower Keys Shuttle is great
especially if you need to get to the College or to Publix. If you take
the Lower Keys Shuttle to Key West and need to get anywhere on Key West
other than the extreme east end of Searstown then you must shell out a
couple of more bucks and wait and wait and wait for a $2 transfer to a
City bus. The Aqua-Route goes all the way to Whitehead street and will
at least get you on the other end of the island once. Then in the
afternoon you have one opportunity to get back up the Keys on the
Aqua route.
I suggest the
public interest would better be served if the route schedule was changed
and instead of one early and one late opportunity to get somewhere else
in Key West other than Publix. If you miss your bus to Publix don't
worry there are eleven others. The current 14 route schedule
should be reduced to a 12 route schedule with every other bus running
the Aqua route (6) or the Lower Keys Shuttle Route (6).
Another
suggestion would be to add the bus schedule info to the
www.kwtransit.com/ link. Sometimes I need to plan my bus travel and it
would be handy to have both the real time and route schedule on the same
link.
Here is the
schedule. Note the buses within minutes of each other northbound in the
morning and note the bus about every half hour southbound.

feathers by raising standards, cleaning up corruption and expecting
faculty and staff of the college to actually work. The last straw was

[Shopping
Obama style] Let's say you're preparing dinner and you realize with
dismay that you don't have any certified organic Tuscan kale. Lordy,
lordy what to do? Here's how Michelle Obama handled this very serious
predicament this past week.
As reported in the Washington Post, the Secret Service
and the D.C. police brought in three dozen vehicles and shut down H
Street, Vermont Avenue, two lanes of I Street and an entrance to the
McPherson Square Metro station. They swept the area in front of the
Department of Veterans Affairs with bomb-sniffing dogs and
installed metal detectors in the middle of the street, put up barricades
to keep pedestrians out, and took positions with binoculars atop trucks.
Though the produce stand was only a block or so from the White House,
the first lady hopped into her armored limousine and pulled into the
market amid the wail of sirens accompanied by three heavily armed Secret
Service vehicles.
At the market she picked up her certified organic Tuscan
kale, some tomatoes and fruit, left them with an aide to pay for, and
hopped into her limo for the block and a half trip back to the White
House. (Why didn't she just send the aide to the store with a shopping
list like regular folk? Guess she just felt the need for a photo op
along with her greens)
One has to wonder how much Mrs. O's organic kale cost the
taxpayers for her brief foray to the local veggie stand. |

[Race
Card] The rationale that Liberals are the people playing the race
card in the shouting about President's Obama's policy proposals is
bizarre. Opponents of the president's policies accuse him of being a
Muslim, accuse him of being born in Kenya (and thus ineligible to serve
as President), they hold up signs that are racist and attack him
personally even though they have issues with his policy proposals, they
claim. Yet we learn, to our astonishment, that these ad hominem
attacks (attacks against the person not his ideas) are the fault of his
supporters?
The Republican Party is the party of wing nuts. There,
that's my ad hominem attack against the people who are rude to
the President. Wing nuts, all of them, and a good few of them are
undoubtedly racist too, judging by their comments.

[From the Right] Soon we will be hearing more
charges of racism and bigotry leveled against Obama critics as more
Americans listen to what Mr. Obama says instead of how he says it. The
shameful ploy of Obama and his supporters calling everyone who opposes
him “racist or bigots” cuts both ways. The word “bigot” is derived from
the 17th century French term for “hypocrite”. According to Webster a
“bigot” is a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or
her own opinions and prejudices. That perfectly defines our friends who
are Obama cultists. Webster further says: These persons regard and
treat members of groups other than their own with hatred and
intolerance.. That too perfectly describes far too many Obama cultists.
We've all read the hateful and scurrilous bilge that they have thrown at
Obama critics. The Obama cultists disparage Obama critics by accusing
them of being “racists”. Webster defines “racism” as: a belief that
race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that
racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
No doubt there are some Obama critics who fit that definition; those
cretins are nothing but a foolish distraction that benefit the Obamists.
Please note that the Webster definition perfectly describes Obama
cultists who slavishly support him simply because one of his parents was
negro African. These people too are cretins who are the very definition
of “bigoted racism” and they deserve your scorn. The purpose of the
cultists name calling is to silence criticism and to distract attention
from any message that is critical of Obama. These vocal cultists are
nothing more than an annoyance. But the unfounded charge of bigotry and
racism, from any source, must be challenged; failure to do so tends to
validate the false accusation. Illegitimi non
carborundum
(Part II) I fully agree with our Deer Ed in his decision to refuse to
publish racist postings. I would suggest that he also refuse to publish
posters who accuse other contributors of being racists or bigots unless
the anonymous accusers can back up their charges with some semblance
of reason or proof of that scurrilous accusation. If Deer Ed were to do
so, it would be a strong statement against all forms of racism or
bigotry, and would elevate the discussion on this site. I’m confident
that Deer Ed would not publish accusations of sexual perversion or
criminality without at least publishing the provenance of the accuser.

[Political
Correctness] I have played tennis for the
last 50 years when I lived in Forest Hills, NY. I grew up with the
traditions and respects of the game. Somewhere in the back of my
closet is an old white tennis dress outfit. In my day, honor and
dignity on (and off) the court were everything. To be
disrespectful to the game or players or judges or rules by anyone
involved in the game, including family members, was unacceptable.
I recently made a comment, while a group of
us, including a 30-something Cuban from Miami, were watching sports
news, that I did not like Serena or Venus. Before I could say
another word the Miami Cuban yelled at me, "Yea, because they're
black."
I was appalled at his remark. First because he
immediately assumed my motive was race, and he was therefore
accusing me of being racist. Second because that showed me where his
mind is.
After a few seconds of silence, I merely replied,
"No, that's not it." To which he adamantly and loudly yelled, "Yes
it is." I was so put off by his behavior I left the room.
My only regret is that I didn't smack the little
twerp and tell him he's shrunk 75% as a person in my eyes. I still
have to deal with him, and now I am wary. Every time I say
something when he is around I chose my words very carefully so he
will not impose his biases and interpretations of the world on my
words.
And that is how political correctness is born. The
how and what we speak is based on what will least offend.
Because I am white, I do not use the N-word because
doing so has been socially engineered to be offensive when used by
people who are white. Sadly, that same social structure is not
imposed on people who are not white.
Political correctness impedes dialog and
relationships, rather than facilitating them. |

[Obama's criticisms are racial] I don't
believe the majority is and I don't totally believe you are
receiving these countless emails. Nor do I believe that should
detract from the people that bring up true concerns. Those ideas
should not be labeled nor should the people be labeled racist for
disagreeing with a person's ideas. But we know there are crazies out
there that detract from the truth. I have read this site for a while
and know the type of people that post here. To come up with an idea
based on how many posts are geared in one direction does not give an
accurate representation of the majority of the populace’s
thoughts. That's not to say there aren't some decent ideas posted.
Everyone has there own agenda as do I.
I know many that disagree with many polices that have
been put in place in the last twenty or so years and the ideas being
put forward in the new administration are the same. I guess the big
difference in my thinking is people should not criticize one man,
but instead criticize his ideas. Anyone that criticizes one
man, in this case the president is a fool. As are the ones that
blindly follow a man. For he is not the only one making decisions in
our government. The majority of the people I talk with aren't
criticizing a man or even one individual, but his ideas and the
ideas of others.
The blame lies with many ideas within many people in
all branches and all parties. It might not be that bad yet, but is
it getting better? I'm not sure. For if it was I would surely
know. We need to break the idea of party affiliation that has been
put upon us. What we have is bickering amongst people and parties
and not ideas. To be for or against something or a person based on a
party affiliation is plain mad. But that is exactly what they want.
I have three questions. Do you perceive yourself
as more free today then 20 years ago? Is our dollar worth more then
20 years ago? Do you know what organization prints our money? |

[Christian
Nation]
Try to put aside for a moment any political party association you
might have, your religious view if any, and step into Jesus’
thoughts. Jesus preached compassion, forgiveness, empathy and love.
He was pro-universal health care, pro-taxes and against the greed of
its collectors and violence.
Excerpts from the article written by Cynthia Boaz: "So if we concede
that the United States is a "Christian nation," it follows that its
citizens, as practitioners of the teachings of Jesus, should be:
anti-war, anti-gun, anti-death penalty, pro-universal health care,
pro-taxes and pro-(democratic) socialism, while also being - to the
rest of the world - forgiving, meek, humble, generous and loving of
everyone, even perceived enemies."
"Despite our verbal proclamations to the contrary, Americans
(Christian or otherwise) have such a negative visceral association
with the concept of socialism that we-thus far-have been unable to
have an authentic, productive conversation about whether greed or
compassion is the more moral (and productive) incentive for human
beings engaged in the social experiment of the democratic
nation-state."
She quotes Abraham Lincoln: "I am not so concerned as to whether God
is on our side, as to whether we are on God's side." and Gandhi: "I
like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are
so unlike your Christ." |

Picking
up road kill (flat meat) is a good way to get fresh, wild,
totally free-range and organic meat for absolutely free. Advantages
of the road kill diet, apart from its low cost, are that the animals
that road kill scavengers eat are naturally high in vitamins and
proteins with lean meat and little saturated fat, and generally free
of additives and drugs.
When you find road kill you should try to determine
if it is edible or not. If you saw the animal get splattered then
it’s obviously fit to eat (although you may have to use your club to
put it out of its misery). If its heart is still beating you should
slit its throat as soon as possible to bleed it out. If you don’t
bleed out the deer, the meat will quickly spoil. There is no delight
in killing the key deer, as someone suggested. It is basic survival.
It’s the hunter-gatherer thing as proven by the grossly overweight
women that are on top of the fast food chain.
As discharging firearms in the Federal Employee
Preserve is strictly prohibited, a baseball bat is the best weapon
to club the dying critter to death. This has always been the
preferred way as shown by the Eskimo seal pup hunters in the Arctic
Circle. If the critter is flattened into a pancake in the middle of
the highway then it’s probably best to leave it. Most of the time
(not always), good ones will be sitting off the road or in a median
where they aren’t constantly being pulverized by passing tourists
with their motor homes.
Sometimes it can be hard to determine how fresh a
carcass is. A lot of factors can contribute to how fast the deer
meat spoils, especially temperature. Obviously, road killed deer
will stay fresher longer in colder weather and spoil faster in
warmer weather. It’s best to go carcass to carcass and follow your
instincts. If it is covered in flies or maggots or other insects
it’s probably no good to eat. If it smells like rotting flesh it’s
probably spoiled, although it is common for deer to shit themselves
upon splat and splatter bumper impact, so don’t let the stench spoil
your potential feast. If its eyes are clouded over white it’s
probably not too fresh (though likely still edible). If it’s
completely mangled, it’s probably not worth the effort. Rigor mortis
(when the animal stiffens) sets in pretty quickly. Most of the deer
I’ve eaten have been stiff. There’s no reason to assume the deer is
spoiled just because it’s a stiff.
One of the most severe risks of road kill is rabies.
In order to assure your safety from this deadly serious brain
inflammation, you may want to use rubber gloves, drink large amounts
of beer and smoke some more weed when gutting and skinning any
warm-blooded animal. Road kill, that is not dead yet is usually safe
from rabies because it dies off quickly after you use your club.
Also, rabies will cook out of the carcass. Generally speaking,
boiling the road killed animal first (rather than just grilling it)
is a good idea, especially if it’s a notorious rabies carrier like
so many of the keys lovely critters.
So, save

[From the Right]
I agree
that there are many racists who attack President Obama. Racism or prejudice
of any stripe is shamefully un-American. Many racists attack President Obama
simply because he is half black. These pin headed persons may be vocal, and
they may be frequent posters. Deer Editor is with the angels when he refuses
publication to the foolish racist venom that may accompany their
submissions. Mr. Obama may be right or he may be wrong, (I believe he is
horribly wrong), but neither his virtues or his negatives are a hallmark of
his mixed race heritage. Mr. Obama’s acolytes have adopted a reprehensible
tactic of labeling any person who dares to criticize Mr. Obama or his
policies as being a racist. The fact that any person who simply voices
beliefs that are contrary to Mr. Obama does not imbue that critic with the
curse of racism. The act of leveling the charge of racism absent any
evidence other than a differing political outlook is every bit as
reprehensible as attacking another person simply because of their skin
color. Not only is it reprehensible, it is a cowardly act, utilized when the
accuser does not have valid argument available. Racists come in every color,
one needs to look no further than Obama intimates Rev. Wright, Louis
Farakahn, Mr. Obama’s x-green czar Van Jones, Father Pfleger, and a host of
others too long to list. Remember too that fully 96% of black people voted
for Mr. Obama. We must all drop the crap about the color of Mr. Obama’s
skin. There is plenty to criticize in Mr. Obama's actions, his associates,
and his agenda. Obama supporters should knock off their knee jerk, all too
often baseless racist accusations against Obama’s critics.
(Part II) Shouting
“Racist” in response to a every criticism of Obama is an apologist who has
no sound argument to rebut the Obama critics. Think about this: You’re
sitting in your home reading Coconut Telegraph when your red neck neighbor
comes running up the stairs, he’s really excited. He says “Some f***ing
n****r just set your house afire, the bastard grabbed your little girl, the
mother f***ing n****r stole your car and is driving away with little
Julie”. You smell smoke and can hear screeching tires. So what do you do?
Do you get up and check it out? Or, do you simply say “get the f***k out of
my house; you’re a bigot and a lying racist troublemaker?” My guess is that
you’ll check out the truth of what the red neck racist has to say. If you’re
smart, you will. |

Circuit
Judge Mark Jones, a bubba himself, was behind a
rock and a hard place in sentencing Randy Acevedo. He faced the wrath of his
bubbas or the ire of the public which will surely cost him his job when he
comes up for re-election. Dennis Ward, the State’s Attorney, was elected on
his promise to be tough on corruption and he did the right thing in
prosecuting Randy Acevedo and getting him convicted of three felonies
(a felony is the most serious crime a person can commit).
Judge Jones made a
mockery of the fight against corruption in the county with his gentle slap
on Randy’s wrist and telling him what a bad boy he was to try to cover up
his wife’s crimes. I hope the State intercedes and re-sentences Randy and
sends the right message to politicians that corruption will be punished.
Down with Judge Jones! ~Uanme66@aol.com |

[Acevedo Free]
It didn’t come as much of a surprise to most of us that Randy Acevedo walked
with a slap-on-the-wrist-sentence from Judge Jones. Too bad the State
Attorneys Office can’t file more charges against Randy for receiving stolen
property (silk ties and clothing in his size his wife bought with a school
system credit card).
It’s also too bad
that a class action suit won’t be brought against both Randy and his wife,
on behalf of the students and taxpayers, to recover some of the money that
was blatantly stolen (after she is found guilty, of course). Although it’s
a great idea, it’s not too likely to happen.
Perhaps if Randy
is granted the new trial that his attorney has requested he will be tried
before a different judge, again found guilty, and receive the jail time that
he so richly deserves. But, sadly, that’s not very likely either.
Maybe when Monique
is found guilty of her crimes against the children and the taxpayers,
the County will seek to seize their assets to recover some of the missing
money and some of the huge costs associated with bringing them both to
trial. Alas, probably not. Even though Monique had no problem with seizing
our assets to finance her steal, spend and stash hobby.
How about the
IRS? Even ill gotten gains are taxable. Wouldn’t it be poetic justice if
the Feds got into the act and seized their assets (home, cars, bank accounts
and whatever else they can find) to pay the taxes due on the hundreds of
thousands of dollars Monique absconded with. We’ll just have to wait and
see on this one.
Meanwhile, Randy
can smugly thumb his nose in contempt at the tax payers. We, the tax
payers, can all thank the Bubba System for his freedom as he sits
comfortably at home instead of in a jail cell where he belongs. |

[Keynoter Editorial] “Acevedo skates after Judge Jones
caves
“Message sent by slap on wrist erodes community trust
"Bubba justice."
"A slap on the wrist."
"A disgrace."
Those phrases and others -- unsuitable for a family newspaper
-- have been thrown around a lot since Thursday's sentencing of the
disgraced Randy Acevedo. We agree with all of them. Circuit Court Judge Mark
Jones has let the community down.
For covering up what appears to be massive theft by his wife,
Acevedo, the suspended School District superintendent, received three years
of probation, plus a $15,000 fine. Oh, and a token eight hours of community
service monthly during those three years. A jury convicted him of
three counts of official misconduct for protecting his wife, who directed
adult education for the district when her apparent theft was discovered.
She's scheduled for trial in a few weeks on multiple felony fraud and theft
counts.
When he meted out Acevedo's punishment -- if you can call it
that -- on Thursday, Jones said, "This case deserves a harsh sentence, but a
harsh sentence can take many forms. Part of your sentence you already
served, because you had a terrible fall from grace."
So what the judge really said is if Acevedo hadn't been a
high-ranking official, he would have gotten a harsher sentence (Acevedo
could have received 15 years; State Attorney Dennis Ward asked Jones to
impose two years).
Let's call it what it is: A double standard for the
well-connected.
Had nearly any Joe Public been found guilty of covering up
what could be the theft of anywhere from $200,000 to $500,000, you can bet
that person wouldn't be spending this weekend at home. Rather, that person
would be in the South Florida Reception Center, awaiting word on where he
would serve his prison sentence. Some liken this to the case of Jim
Hendrick, the former county attorney convicted on corruption charges for
helping facilitate a bribe to a county mayor. Hendrick got probation two
years ago -- and probation again a week ago when he was resentenced
following a protest by federal prosecutors.
Acevedo's case is far more troubling than Hendrick's case.
Hendrick was convicted of being party to a kickback scheme, but he was never
accused of accepting a bribe. Did he deserve prison? Maybe. Remember, the
bribe paid to the late Mayor Jack London in 1997 was $29,000. But here are
some critical differences in the crimes: Hendrick wasn't an elected
official, and Hendrick never sought nor got a dime of the money.
Acevedo can laughably and smugly deny all he wants that he
didn't know of his wife's activities. But he knew he had to write personal
checks to cover airline tickets she bought with a School District credit
card. He should have known when he saw the new clothes, furniture, fancy
decorative pieces, satellite radio and more. He gained financially. He wore
new suits and shoes she bought. He dined on food she's accused of buying
with the district purchase card.
And again, don't forget that unlike Hendrick, Acevedo was an
elected official (technically still is, but that doesn't mean much anymore
since he's suspended from office and isn't going back to work in the School
District). And there's this: He was not just any elected official, but the
top elected leader in the School District -- an organization charged with
educating our children, teaching right from wrong, setting examples as role
models. Acevedo failed miserably on those last two.
And Jones failed the public by handing down a light sentence
that sends the worst kind of signal -- de facto being complicit in the theft
of money earmarked for students gets a slap on the wrist. And it sends a
signal that if you run in the "right" circles with well-connected movers and
shakers you can skate if you do wrong. |

[Torture]
To the over 60 poster who tried to insult Obama concerning water boarding I
have only one thing to say. Ask the Pirates that had their heads blown with
Obama’s approval if they think Obama’s weak. And if water boarding isn’t
torture like John McCain said on 60 Minutes, why did America prosecute
people from another country for water boarding Americans in the 2nd war?
Shouldn’t you have insulted John McCain? I love this country and have served
in its military, but until we realize we also have done things in times of
war that other countries have done we cant just wave the flag and say "They
are always wrong". We dropped the only nukes on civilians in the history of
the world. If you think melting hundreds of thousands of people in their
homes is any more civilized then 4 people getting burned by Muslims, you’re
simply naive. War is nasty and horrible things happen. We all do it and we
all pay the price. You should expect atrocities anytime you go to war.
Waving the flag and being naive isn’t being patriotic. |

A
reptile that lives side-by-side with man is the iguana. Eating iguana
is every day food fair in the Caribbean islands and other places where
protein has been hard to come by at times. As with chickens, iguanas can be
vectors for disease, so you need to take care. Numerous flattened iguana
carcasses are seen on a daily bases lying on the sides of the roads just
waiting to be taken home and placed into the crock pot or on the grill.
A quick single
shot to the head with a pellet rifle is the approved humane way to murder
them if they are only wounded. I have a Gamo Whisper pellet rifle with 153
notches on the stock and I’m a lifetime member of IKC (Iguana Killers Club).
One clean shot to the head usually does the deed.
Once you get a
hold of a delightful, juicy and clean young dead iguana, they taste good in
a simple peanut sauce or roasted over mangrove wood coals. It is easy to
make a deluxe grill out of an abandoned shopping cart. Don’t bring home any
dead manatee. They rot too fast in these warm pristine waters. Actually you
should not bring home anything you find floating in the ocean. My girlfriend
recently brought home a badly decomposed loggerhead turtle and it smelled
worse than rotten local politics. I politely told her that if it smelled
like fish and tasted like fish that I would refuse to eat with her. I have
already tasted Ibis, Rosette Spoon bills and Pink flamingos and to tell you
truth they are not worth killing to eat. They really don’t have enough meat
on them after they are boiled to be de-feathered and butchered. I would have
to kill 6 or 8 Rosette Spoon bills for a dinner for 2. It’s hardly worth the
cost of the bullets. I prefer stewed blood with deer balls or stir fried cat
with natural brown sterile maggots. I have tasted the chicken dishes in the
local Chinese restaurants and it doesn’t taste any different from the road
kill cats that I cook at home.
While there isn’t as much traffic as there used to be, but we
can still count on the tourists racing down the roads at break neck high
speeds and leaving behind lots of fresh road killed edibles in their wake.
When racing around looking for the freshest road kills make sure you wear
your seat belt. You know the saying “click it or ticket” and we certainly
don’t want to break any laws or attract law enforcement attention to this
new source of food. This is where road kill recipes come in handy. You'd be
surprised how many of these you can find – yahoo returns 193,000 hits for
the phrase! That's a whole new world of stews, kabobs, roasts, pot pie and
chili just waiting to be plucked off the road. It'll take some adjusting on
your part and that 'gamey' flavor coming through your pores that might over
power the stench of the seeping alcohol. This may not be so attractive or
pleasant, but when you've managed to survive one more day evading the local
taxing politicians in your soon to be repossessed home, you'll be glad you
have all the fresh road kill flat meat you can eat. |

[No Atheists in Foxholes] The faithful who think like that don’t

Racism
is alive and well in America and even more so now that the bigots have a

[Why Afghanistan] Everyone in the know over there says
we can never defeat al Qaeda militarily. Only redneck Texans think we can
kick their ass. The Russians couldn’t do it and the only reason the British
had some success was because they bought the Afghans. Buying them is the
only way we had some measure of success in Iraq. We should be buying their
compliance in Afghanistan. Moslems are a lot less religious when they are
offered cash.
The last time Islam was beaten was during the Crusades when
Muslims were thrown out of Jerusalem, but they regrouped and beat back the
Christians and have been beating them ever since. Islam is
unbeatable. We should realize that and stop thumping our chests and start
offering them money. Islam is a dangerous idea. We can’t kill an idea no
matter how much we hate it. But Islam is for sale or rent.
Afghanistan and Pakistan will be stuck in the dark ages as
Taliban states. There’s nothing we can do about it. Didn’t we learn anything
from our defeat in Vietnam? Our mission should be to protect the USA. The
most we can do over there is political and financial, not militarily. |

[Road
kill Raccoon Kabob Recipe and Cleaning Instructions] Two pounds,
reasonable fresh raccoon cut into one-inch cubes: one-half cup lite French
dressing: two green peppers cut into one-inch squares, one large Vidalia
onion cut into one squares two - three layers thick, twelve ounces fresh
mushroom caps. Place raccoon cubes in a ceramic bowl and marinade for two
ours in the French dressing. Remove cubes, save marinade for basting.
Alternate meat and veggies on skewers and while basting, grill over medium
high heat till medium well in doneness.
Cleaning road kill is just a little more complicated than
cleaning the baseball bat killed raccoon you caught in your garbage cans.
The primary difference is that the bloodshot damaged meat shouldn't be used
and skinning is not as easy as the flesh will start to tear. Start by
nailing the head to a tree or post with a good sized nail. Cut through the
skin just enough to make rings around the paws and neck as skinning these
parts isn't necessary. Make one incision through the skin from the throat
halfway down the torso. Remove the nail, turn the raccoon around, re-nail,
and begin teasing the skin away from the meat at the base of the neck. Once
you have enough peeled back to slide a golf ball or large marble under the
skin, stop, insert the ball and tie a thin rope around the skin with the
ball inside of it. Tie the other end of the rope to your trailer hitch and
use your vehicle to pull the skin off in one smooth motion. The best meat
runs along the spine and can be cut away as if you are filleting a fish.
Thighs and shoulders also have good sized chunks of meat but they are better
for stewing.
This method also works with any other small animal such as
small dogs, iguanas, and feral cats. Bigger dogs and small deer should be
hung from a noose. Tie the legs spread in different directions to keep them
from spinning as you work. Larger animals will have tenderloin big enough
to retrieve. Remove the guts and you will find it along both sides of the
spine on the inside of the abdomen. Bon appetite! |

[From
the Right]
Mr. Obama has been mysteriously silent about the
current ACORN revelations. That's odd because ACORN and Mr. Obama are long
time compatriots. Obama and ACORN are/were as up tight as Grannies thong.
During O’s early political years he was very active in training ACORN
activists and workers. In 1992 O lead Project Vote for ACORN in Chicago. In
1993 O was with The Woods Fund of Chicago (Chaired by Bill Ayers, O’s
terrorist pal and mentor) and obtained Woods Fund and public funding for
ACORN. In 1994 O was an attorney for ACORN in a lawsuit (Buycks-Roberson v.
Citibank). Many experts believe this suit was the genesis of the current
mortgage crisis. The suit had to do with forcing lenders to loan to folks
who were not likely to pay back. In 1995 O sued the State of Illinois on
behalf of ACORN (this is the motor voter lawsuit). In1996 Democrat Senate
Candidate Obama was a member of the New Party, and avowed Socialist
political activist party. This party successfully fought to elect members to
public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to
ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda. Obama
actively sought and received the endorsement of the New Party and its
ancillary, ACORN. O was elected State Senator and for the next few years was
slavishly active in all things ACORN. In 2008, Anita MonCrief, a top ACORN
executive and its affiliate Project Vote from 2005 through January 2008,
said ACORN acted as an unofficial arm of the Democratic Party during the
election and used cash operations to keep many Obama campaign financial
transactions hidden from scrutiny. Just one thing more for today. A direct
quote from Mr. Obama during the Presidential campaign: “The only involvement
I've had with ACORN was I represented them alongside the U.S. Justice
Department in making Illinois implement a motor voter law that helped people
get registered at DMVs." It’s a crying shame that campaign claims are not
made under oath. ACORN and ACORN alums are major players in the Obama admin.
Today, the Obama admin is home to many ACORN alums, much of his Obamacare
initiative is the work of ACORN thinkers.
(Part II) On 9/14
President Obama’s Rasmussen approval index rating was -3. Since then he has
given about a dozen speeches and appeared on TV countless times. He’s burned
a gazillion gallons of hydrocarbon in AF1 and in Presidential motorcades.
As I write this on 9/18, his approval rating has dropped to -7, a drop of
one percentage point per day, in spite of all of his glad handing and
speechifying. Maybe, just maybe, people are beginning to listen to what he
says rather than how he says it. Let’s hope so. |

So Sunny Booker testified at
Randy's hearing about what a great guy he is. It took place during work
hours, so I wonder whether she took vacation time to appear or was she doing
it on our dime? |
|
I have thought about
this for a long time, but waited to see the results of the Acevedo case.
I believe we taxpayers
can file a class action lawsuit against Randy and Monique Acevedo
for what they did with
their trusted positions; using them to take advantage of and gain from
the people they were
supposed to serve.
If anyone knows an
attorney who might be interested in taking the case....let us all know.
There IS something we
can do to stand up against corruption. We can stand together and
let it be known that we
will not tolerate the unfairness. If the laws were applied to everyone
equally, I don't think
anyone would have a problem with the leniency granted to a "Bubba".
But the laws are not
applied equally down here, and this is a very dangerous precedent to set.
God Bless Dennis Ward,
he tried. So now, let's try to find an attorney to take the case...

If you are walking or biking, because your driver’s
license was revoked for DUI, you should look down occasionally and you will
inevitably encounter some type of road kill. All vertebras including cats
and dogs crossing a road are often unavoidable prey for vehicles traveling
at fifty-five miles per hour. I eat road kill almost every day. My neighbors
bring road kill stews to our potlucks. They had strips of road kill key deer
splayed across their truck hood drying into jerky at the last gathering.
They are true flat meat/poultry road kill carnivores.
My first feast of road
kill was right after hurricane Wilma. That past summer I had experimented
with skinning and tanning, using dogs and cats I had found dead on the
roadside. One early dawn I was driving around smoking some weed on Ramrod
Key and observed a young gray dog dying on the roadside. My first thought
was poor pooch. I checked to see if pooch had a name tag collar so I could
contact the owner about their pet’s pending demise. None was found. After I
humanly clubbed it on the head with my baseball bat, I scraped it up (it
wasn’t mangled at all) and took it home and skinned it in the backyard with
my girlfriend. When it was all done and hanging gutless and skinless from a
Gumbo Limbo tree, it was like some collective epiphany: why not eat it? I
have a great fire pit in my backyard, out of sight from my noisy vacation
rental neighbors and a few pretty hardcore vegans who I didn’t want to
upset. After a couple hours on a spit, while we smoked some good weed and
consuming a few brews, pooches was finally edible. Some friends stood by and
watched while we feasted on the tender meat. My girlfriend, a onetime
hardcore vegan, was perhaps the most voracious. There was something primal
about her eating—like a wild women caged for years after eating only bagels,
tofu and bananas. She latter tanned the dog skin and transformed it into a
neck collar for herself. She proudly wears it every day while riding her
bike searching for more flat meat road kill. I now eat road kill nearly
every day, Christmas day included, have a good supply put away in a freezer,
and have tried dozens of different species of animals found dead on the
mediums and roadsides. |

[The Taliban

anyone. I am 66 years old now, and I have seen many horrible things since I
was a teenager, but that video of the Taliban burning those three man, taken
my breath away. The men were tied up and gagged, those F**ken bastards
poured gasoline on them. I was waiting for those black hearted bastards to
shoot the condemned, after they were pushed into the fiery pit. I am just
waiting for some dung brained poster to say, "That was a fake video!" just
like the one where a 15 year old boy hacks off the head of a prisoner while
five others hold him down. I've seen pigs butchered this way, but not
men. Then to think that 'Waterboarding' is cruel, by some bleeding hearts.
Is it not cruel to be fried like a piece of bacon?

Danny
Brawner, 46, was indicted in Albuquerque, N.M., in August for aggravated
indecent exposure. A police officer and his 10-year-old son had seen Brawner
with his pants down around his ankles, performing simulated sexual
intercourse against the trunk of his car. The officer also said Brawner was
shouting and swinging his arms, as if enjoying the real thing. [KOB-TV

[Anti-Obama Attacks] A
couple rants by me. First, hey douche bag your butt buddy Clinton
deregulated the banks with the help of the republican congress in 1999. What
I see is people criticizing ideas when I see protests. What is even more
funny or sad is people believing the media's story switching idea,
turning the truth into a story about racism and violence. This is
deliberate so as not to educate people on the truth. Which is the government
is not here to take care of us. You should care for your own dam self. If
you cannot you parish. Natural selection. What we now have is the dumbing
down of society.
Next, why the hell does
the media pick on each other. You have CNN and MSN talking s**t about Fox
and Fox talk trash about them. What a waste of time. But again that is what
they want to do, not focus on facts, but on waste. Like our fat government
that increases exponentially every year no matter what worthless party is in
place. Government pay has been increasing at a rate higher then the private
sector and that's a problem.
Lastly, We have a lot
of people that believe in political parties and the media's sensationalism.
And it's not just the worthless people who think they are democrats, but its
also the worthless people who think they're republicans. All you people hurt
America by buying into a two party system. The problem is many people relate
themselves as either a democrat or a republican and follow people not ideas.
That is a big flaw. You are hooked on a corrupt government and terrible
"news organizations." Pass the Cool-aid yeah....... |

The net is getting tighter and tighter. The Consumer
Product Safety Commission has just announced a new initiative aimed directly
at folks who run yard sales or thrift stores, or anyone who dares to sell
used merchandise. The campaign threatens big time fines against anyone who
sells anything that has been previously recalled. Fines could reach $100K
for a single act, or millions for repeated violations. I wonder if this is a
make work scheme funded with stimulus bucks to fight unemployment. It's
rummored that the new fed agency will be the YSE, Yard Sale Enforcement. As
part of their training, new agents will have to practice the line: “Hello,
I’m from the government, I’m here to help. Assume the position Ms.
Ackerboobie, Spread EM ! You are under arrest for selling a recalled, tinker
toy.” Maybe we’ll soon see undercover YSE agents cruising up and down our
streets on the prowl for outlaw yard sale offenders. Maybe even surveillance
at the light pole at the intersection of KDB and US1. Beware of promoting
your yard sale, your name might make it to Mr. Obama's enemies list, worse
yet you might get hit up for a campaign contribution. Soon we’ll have
clandestine yard sales where you’ll have to know a code word to buy a
tainted tinker toy. I can see it now, sitting at Coke and Sluts, toking a
banned tobacco reefer, sipping a $25.00 RC (these new sin taxes are a
bitch), when a dude with 'dreds and a Jimmy Buffet outfit (obviously a YSE
undercover agent) asks if I want to score some Chinese stuffed bunny. Now,
normally I’d be in the buying mood, but now I’m afraid of a reverse sting.
On the other hand there might be some big bucks to be made as a snitch.
Hmmm. |

A friend of ours just recently moved to Phoenix..
Dear Jim and Jean...Just moved to Arizona! Now this is a state that knows
how to live!!
Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! It is beautiful.
I've finally found my home. I love it here..
June 14th:
Really heating up. Got to 100 today. Not a problem. Live in an
air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see
the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshipper.
June 30th:
Had the backyard landscaped with western plants today. Lots of cactus and
rocks. What a breeze to maintain.. No more mowing the lawn for me. Another
scorcher today, but I love it here.
July 10th:
The temperature hasn't been below 100 all week. How do people get used to
this kind of heat? At least, it's kind of windy though. But getting used to
the heat is taking longer than I expected.
July 15th:
Fell asleep by the community pool. (Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my
body).. Missed 3 days of work. What a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson
though. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this.
July 20th:
I missed Lomita (my cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By
the time I got to the hot car at noon, Lomita had died and swollen up to the
size of a shopping bag, then popped like a water balloon. The car now smells
like Kibbles and Shits. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this
heat. Good ol' Mr. Sun strikes again.
July 25th:
The wind sucks.. It feels like a giant freaking blow dryer!! And it's hot as
hell. The home air-conditioner is on the fritz and the AC repairman charged
$200 just to drive by and tell me he needed to order parts.
July 30th:
Been sleeping outside on the patio for 3 nights now, $225,000 house and I
can't even go inside. Lomita is the lucky one. Why did I ever come here?
Aug. 4th:
It's 115 degrees. Finally got the air-conditioner fixed today. It cost $500
and gets the temperature down to 85. I hate this stupid state.
Aug. 8th:
If another wise ass cracks, 'Hot enough for you today?' I'm going to
strangle him. Damn heat. By the time I get to work, the radiator is boiling
over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like baked cat!!
Aug. 9th:
Tried to run some errands after work. Wore shorts, and when sat on the seats
in the car, I thought my ass was on fire.. My skin melted to the seat. I
lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and ass . . .
Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried ass, and baked cat.
Aug 10th:
The weather report might as well be a damn recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and
sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do Shit for 2 damn months and the
weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in
this damn state? Water rationing will be next, so my $1700 worth of cactus
will just dry up and blow over. Even the cactus can't live in this damn
heat.
Aug. 14th:
Welcome to HELL! Temperature got to 115 today. Cactus are dead. Forgot to
crack the window and blew the damn windshield out of the car. The installer
came to fix it and guess what he asked me??? "Hot enough for you today?" My
sister had to spend $1,500 to bail me out of jail. Freaking Arizona .
What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live here??
Will write later to let you know how the trial goes. |

RANDY ACEVEDO APPEALS CONVICTION (This piece
of shit should be hit by a semi and dragged a mile)
Randy Acevedo on Thursday
appealed his conviction, asking a higher court to review the lower court's
behavior and the Aug. 24 trial verdict.
"The appeal is on Assistant State Attorney's Mark Wilson desk right now,"
State Attorney Dennis Ward said Friday.
Acevedo's attorney, Catherine Vogel, filed the appeal immediately after a
judge denied his request for a new trial and sentenced the suspended schools
superintendent to three years probation, a $15,000 fine and eight hours a
month of community service.
The 3rd District Court of Appeal will decide whether the circuit court must
retry his case. |

[D.C. Protest]
Be on the lookout for part of the right wing mob that is on its way back
to the Keys for rest after the 9/12/09 march on Washington. The old VA
farmer was on the march again after you got us going at the Tea Party on
Big Pine. The march was huge and every street we passed down Penn Ave.
was packed as far as we could see. The crowd was just unreal and to
tell you the truth, previously my biggest crowd had been 300 cows with
calves, I was a little anxious as hubby and I made our way around to the
side of the Capitol (took us 4 hours) and just couldn't see anything but
like-minded people. The people were all helping each other and we even
had grandmas in wheelchairs! If you had to be in a crowd, try to make
sure its the home-grown terrorists of the Right Wing Mob because it sure
is a great group of folks.
Since the march, the public option notion seems to be nixed. In fact now
the Dems are not wanting to vote on it. ACORN (of which there were many
signs against) has lost all of its funding and Cap and Tax is on the
run. You may not have the exact count (it had to be over a million and
a half), but let me tell you they were peeking out of the windows and
are running for the hills. Keep up the emails and telephone calls if
you wish to save what is left of America that we love on the Right!
This is the very beginning of our part of the march. We were almost two
hours early because every road into D.C. was in gridlock at 11:00am and
the march was to begin at 11:30 so we were way early and the police had
to let the people start down to the Capitol (about a mile from Freedom
Plaza) early because there was no where else for them to go. As you can
see there were still two flags at 1/2 staff because of Kennedy (I think)
and no one had changed them. This has been a matter of contention on
the left wing blogs.
Just so you know, people were packed like this all the way around the
building and down Independence and all the other Avenues.
See you all the on the last of Oct. Someone please write a fishing
report on the Telegraph.

[Acevedo Free] Can you believe Randy Acevedo just
got a slap-on-the wrist probation? I'm appalled! The jury showed how
guilty they thought he was. The bubba judge let him go, showing no
respect for how the people feel. Randy will just get his buddies to
sign off on his probation and his community service, so there will be no
repercussions at all. I give him a couple of weeks and he'll be working
for the trolley or the Spotswoods. Poor Cathy Reitzel, the whistle
blower, got fired from her job.
So where does that leave us? Don't blow the whistle
because you'll get fired and your corrupt boss will go free. I thought
that maybe things had changed, but alas, no. Is there anywhere I can
picket? Anyone I can complain to? I'm so tired of the bubbas and the
blatant crime in our politics and the stealing from us--the taxpayers. I
know it's been going on forever, but geez, isn't there anything a guy
can do?
Next, Monique will get off because she's got mental
problems. What can be a worse crime than stealing from our children?
And the poor kid in Bahama Village with a bag of weed will be doing 5-15
years in prison. There ought to be a law. |

[Pig

story, and considering there are jerks who are deliberately killing the

| [Foreign
Aid] I love the idea of ending foreign aid. Let's stop it
immediately and watch peace break out in the Middle East. The two
largest recipients of US foreign aid are Israel and Egypt. They get more
than everyone else combined. If we stop foreign aid we can dismantle the
military and stop trying to police the world. That will clear up the
federal budget deficit as one third of the federal budget is for the
military alone. We could spend trillions on boosting the CIA to defend
us from foreign aggression and local police forces to protect our civil
society, and have trillions left over to provide health care for all
while running a federal budget finally in the black with no new taxes.
Also Key West would get a decent airport at Boca Chica and we could
ramp up tourist income in the lower Keys. Instead we kill people for no
reason that I can think of in Iraq and Afghanistan and fail to meet
basic human needs at home. If there is life after death we're going to
have a lot of 'splaining to do, Lucy. |

[Fresh
Road Kill]
Shame on the women that killed the key deer with her vehicle and then
took it home to gut, skin, butcher and eat. I hope she gets reported to
the deer police. I called the Deer Cops on Big Time Key and asked them
what they did with the 75 plus deer road kills each year. I really
couldn’t get an answer, just a lot of overpaid bureaucratic double talk
about nothing. They probably do throw them in the dumpster as the
murderer suggested or they secretly take them home to their dinner
table. Fresh road kill is often referred to as flat meat, flat poultry
or flat rats (short for rations). Humans should never be considered as
road kill whereas it is against the law to eat human meat.
As we
move deeper and deeper into the recession/depression I think we are
going to see more of this type of barbaric cannibalistic behavior. Yes,
life is going to get a lot harder not too far down the blooded road.
However, all hope is not lost. Look out your window or down at the
ground as you go about your daily business. Food sources are everywhere
- all those little furry, flying, walking, feathered, creeping and
crawling critters that live and die all around us can become the new
source of protein and nourishment for your family. They are all over the
place constantly, pooping on everything, eating your victory garden and
spreading all kinds of deadly deceases. Fortunately for us, the National
Association for Lunatics Anonymous has been working on plans to open a
big box type chain restaurant where all your favorite road kills will be
served. For an $8 charge per person they will butcher and cook your
fresh road kill--flat meat. Gratuity not included. For the past eight
years they been barbecuing and grilling the little buggers at their
annual convention.
Free
range chickens are a delicacy - they recommend it roasted with
belladonna leaves for the best high, and a side of smoked python dip is
a nice complement when you can get it. They even have an expert on staff
who recommends a recipe of simmered osprey in "butter, pineapple,
mandarin oranges, rum, and walnuts". The descendants of the imported
Cuban fighting roosters are pretty dumb, and can be lured into a basic
box-and-stick trap with a little bit Cuban bread, or whatever edible
garbage you can scrounge. The young hens seem to be tenderer. Most free
range chickens today have lost their fear of mankind and they will even
walk right up to your feet while you sit down to throw them some food -
close enough for the quick to reach out and grab them before those
heavy, ponderous wings can get them out of trouble. With one quick twist
you can ring their necks. The only thing to watch out for is to check
the condition of the feathers. If oily or gross, or if the chick has a
film over her eyes she may be diseased. You'll know for sure when you
cut it open, if the guts are spotty or don't slide out smoothly. Chicks
are capable of carrying infectious diseases, so use all precautions, and
be sure to consider what the chicks have been doing before you share a
holiday feast of them. I prefer the fresh, young, tender deer meat over
old chicks any day of the week.
I have
heard something about a hard to find marsh rabbit and some type of snail
that can be found in some local areas which would make a very delicious
rabbit with escargot family meal. I will soon check out manatees,
osprey eggs, eagles, seagulls and young turtles as a good food source. |

[Lobster Poaching: Not Just for Cubans Anymore]
For you bigots that keep saying all lobster poaching is done by persons
with Spanish surnames remember they are most likely American citizens as
were some folks from this famous recent case out of the lower Keys. I
see no Spanish names within that case, do you? Your last name is
probably what? And your people are perfect examples within society? Let
us worship your idiocy.
Cudjoe case:
Officials arrested David W. Dreifort, 41, of Cudjoe Key, for his
involvement in an out-of-season lobstering operation that included use
of illegal lobster traps placed in the protected Florida Keys National
Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) and the stockpiling of approximately 1,500
pounds of lobster tail. Dreifort was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 6 after an
investigation by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
If convicted, Dreifort faces up to five years of prison as well as
criminal fines and penalties under the Lacey Act. Agents became aware of
a group constructing artificial lobster habitats, often referred to
informally called casitas, in the Lower Keys. In an affidavit by Special
Agent Kenneth Blackburn, Blackburn reported following a boat owned by
Dreifort to different locations in the FKNMS and harvesting spiny
lobsters on July 26. After marking the locations on GPS and returning to
the same locations later, divers found illegal lobster traps and lobster
body parts lying on the ocean floor. |

[Why
Afghanistan] I read the post by the person questioning why we are in
Afghanistan. I then saw the video of the Islamo-Fascists burning alive
their fellow Muslims. Well that answered that question. We need to hunt,
chase down and kill every one of these murder mongers wherever they are! |

Bank
of America did the same thing to me last week. They charged me $420
in overdraft fees. So I tried to do the online chat session to get them
refunded because it was BS that they charged me for those. After 45
minutes of being passed around, they told me that there was nothing that
could be done for me. So I called the 800 number they provided and was
able to talk to someone who actually helped me. They refunded my $420
but I’m still getting charged the $35 overdraft fee almost every day
because they still can’t get my account straightened out. So I have to
call the morons every day and get it refunded. |

[Acevedo
Free] Most of us knew what would happen to the Bubba Brother, Dandy
Randy. He slimed his way through the system and was given a big slap on
the wrist and a mini lecture. The judge sentenced him to three years
probation on each of three counts (served concurrently so he will only
be on probation for three years), a $15,000 fine (that he should have no
trouble paying from his generous "Technical Consultant" salary with the
Conch Train), and token repayments for court costs ($398), prosecution
($100), investigation ($40), $75 per month for probation fees and a
silly 8 hours per month of community service.
Now he can go home and relax for a while before putting
on a nice new suit and a silk tie, (thoughtfully bought for him by his
loving wife who stole the money to buy them from the taxpayers and the
kids), before heading out for a celebration dinner with his Bubba
buddies.
At least as a
convicted felon he can't hold public office again. (Oh, I forgot, this
is Monroe County so I can’t bet on that.) |

[Why
Afghanistan] Why are we fighting the Taliban? I thought we were
after the real threat, al Qaeda and Osama. If those people over there
want to let the Taliban rule them, let them. Those people have lots of
guns so when the Taliban come around they could just blow them away.
Let's target Osama's guys and screw the rest of it. We can't afford to
take over that whole place. |

AmeriCorps NCCC Raven Team served with Habitat for Humanity of
Key West and Lower FL Keys for the past two months and honored the
President's call to community service on September 11 by cleaning up
Little Hamaca Park in Key West. The group worked tirelessly on the 8
new Habitat homes on Bayside Landing, Big Coppitt Key. They have
completed the underside of the houses, erected the downstairs area,
painted and cleaned, readying the homes for tile work and final
completion.
In
1993, President Bill Clinton signed the National and Community Service
Trust Act, which established the Corporation for National and Community
Service and brought the full range of domestic community service
programs under the umbrella of one central organization.
This legislation built on the first National Service Act signed by
President H.W. Bush in 1990. It also formally launched AmeriCorps, a
network of national service programs that engage Americans in intensive
service to meet the nation’s critical needs in education, public safety,
health, and the environment.
The newly created AmeriCorps incorporated two existing national service
programs: the longstanding VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America)
program, created by President Lyndon Johnson in 1964 and the National
Civilian Community Corps (NCCC).
In September 1994, the first class of AmeriCorps members—20,000
strong—began serving in more than 1,000 communities. On July 3, 2003,
President Bush signed the Strengthen AmeriCorps Program Act, which
nearly doubled the number of AmeriCorps members. By establishing new
accounting guidelines for making Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards from
the National Service Trust, the Corporation can now authorize
approximately twice as many AmeriCorps positions in all categories. The
legislation was the product of extensive, cooperative discussions with
the Administration and a sign of the strong bipartisan support for
AmeriCorps.
AmeriCorps and its programs are among the most recent chapters in our
country's long history of encouraging and supporting civic engagement. |

[Iguana
Killers Club (IKC) Recommended] Gamo Outdoor has developed the
newest member of the Whisper Series of air guns utilizing their award
winning ND52 noise dampening system. The new Whisper .22 was engineered
to derive maximum velocity and energy from the P1000 power plant and
yields velocity of up to 950 fps with PBA ammunition and 750 with lead
with a single cock. To combat recoil harmonics and reduce muzzle blast
the Whisper .22 was fitted with a specially engineered integrally
mounted ND52 noise reducer which effectively eliminates over 50% of
discharge sound and helps to stabilize point of impact. (Newman

[Thick
Headed Liberals] To attempt to set the previous poster on the path
to truth would be an obvious attempt in futility. Anyone that far off
the path in history is obviously so indoctrinated in leftist foolishness
that to attempt to make sense to him would be just impossible. Why
frustrate yourself you could research the topic extensively, show him
where his premise is wrong, present a carload of facts, then with his
left wing ideology firmly in place, his eyes would glaze over and he
would immediately erase everything that you had labored to show him, and
go on his merry way distributing the same kind of nonsense. These people
have been living in this kind of a world so long that it is the only
reality they know. They consistently refuse help of any kind and common
sense has vacated their minds years ago. Just be thankful that you have
not been stricken by this virus (jlelt, that is Latin for
stupidity) and ignore them and if at all possible never let them on your
property as they tend to contaminate all they touch. |

voting in assholes that take advantage of the working class. Man, I hope
his pay-back is a bitch! |

[Acevedo Free] Our local government is a disgrace.
Randy Acevado getting no jail time is totally ridiculous. You or I would
have gone away for 6 months minimal. If you know enough bubbas you can
get away with murder in this stinking county. Why waste the money
to prosecute Monique with a trial, the bubbas will let her walk too; and
likely give her a job at the courthouse. Every citizen in this county
got screwed today. How can any of us mail our taxes into this sham of a
county? |

[Never
Argue with a Woman Who Reads] One morning, the husband returns the
boat to their lakeside cottage after several hours of fishing and
decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife
decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors,
puts her feet up, and begins to read her book. The peace and solitude
are magnificent. Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat. He
pulls up alongside the woman and says, 'Good morning, Ma'am. What are
you doing?' 'Reading a book,' she replies, (thinking, 'Isn't that
obvious?') 'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her. 'I'm
sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading.' 'Yes, but I see you
have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment.
I'll have to take you in and write you up.'
'If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault,' says the
woman. 'But I haven't even touched you,' says the Game Warden. 'That's
true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at
any moment.' 'Have a nice day ma'am,' and he left.
Moral: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also
think. |

[From the
Right] The credibility of every poster is measured in large part by
how accurate they are in citing of facts or circumstances that support
their main point. For example: Senator Jones is a corrupt because he
took bribes from ACORN in January of 1970. If Jones was a school boy in
1970, and ACORN did not exist until 1990, Senator Jones is falsely
accused and his accuser should is unworthy of belief. Yesterday’s pot
boiling progressive has his facts all messed up. He said that Limbaugh
and Beck had make radio broadcasts condemning FDR, Socialism, Social
Security and Medicare. The facts are: Neither Limbaugh or Beck was
alive while FDR was alive. Medicare was enacted in 1965, Beck was one
year old, and Limbaugh was 14. The self proclaiming ultra liberal poster
sang the praises of Social Security and Medicare, suggesting that they
are shining examples of the overwhelming superiority of a socialist
society. The fact is that both Medicare and Social Security are
government run Ponzi schemes.. Each program relies totally on their
being a vastly superior number of persons paying into the program than
the number of persons on the receiving side. When that equation tips,
the scheme falls apart. That equation has tipped; both programs are
most certainly headed for bankruptcy. This fact will sorely affect you
and I for years. Both programs were ill conceived, and the members of
each program would be much better off had they been permitted to save
and invest for their own future/retirement. Because of the impending
crash of both programs, my benefits will crumble, your taxes will
skyrocket, and you will ultimately receive grossly minimized benefits if
any benefits at all. The sorely confused progressive poster also blamed
Mr. Reagan and deregulation for the current economic mess. The actual
fact is that our economy went south because of a massive national credit
failure caused nearly en toto by regulations put in place by
Democrats which first simply promoted reckless lending, then required
lending to individuals who simply had no hope of ever servicing their
indebtedness. Democrat passed legislation permitted the packaging of
those loans into securities which were sold as investment vehicles.
These securities were doomed to crash which led to our current
situation. The progressive poster is unworthy of belief or even
consideration. His posting is silly prattle. He does not deserve scorn
or anger, he only deserves our sympathy. We must hope that his personal
situation is not as fouled up as his recollection of history, his
understanding of our current situation, and his belief in socialism.
(Part II)
ACORN has been a hot topic for sometime in conservative
circles. We have been astounded that the major media outlets have not
pounded on the issue. That may finally be coming to an end because of
the efforts of two 20 something kids with balls (well one of them has
them and the other has courage instead). These kids revealed at least 4
ACORN offices on the east and west coasts were staffed with people who
counseled them on how to successfully operate a brothel staffed with
underage illegal immigrant kids. The utter salaciousness and
reprehensible behavior was just too much for the media to ignore. By now
you know that ACORN has a long history of recruiting illegal aliens as
voters and a rich history of voter fraud. It is ACORN who provides
hordes of paid demonstrators to Democrat causes, and pays a bounty for
recruiting new Democrat voters. By now you know that ACORN has been cut
off of the government teat, Until just the other day it had been the
recipient of millions of tax dollars, at least 40% of its revenue is
taxpayer funded. Mr. Obama had planned to have ACORN hired to conduct
the upcoming census. Doesn’t that give you a tingly feeling down your
leg? Just the other day, in a rare fit of good sense, they were fired.
By now you know that ACORN is the target of scores of investigations
nationwide, including Dade County. You may not know that ACORN and
President Barak Obama’s past and present are intricately and intimately
intertwined. ACORN’s philosophy is at the core of Mr. Obama’s
philosophy. ACORN acolytes, officers, and even founders, some of whom
are extraordinarily corrupt, are serving Mr. Obama in the White House.
They serve in a number of posts. ACORN executive alumni are policy
makers for Mr. Obama, some have been architects of Obamacare and link
him to ACO | |
