Sunday August 31 2003 |
Jerry Lewis was on Larry King trying to be funny in the conventional way, but he looked shocking in his present steroid-bloated appearance-- just like a balloon. |
|
| 31 |
Shut up about the F'n pools on the
corner.. Are you Larry by any chance?? There are so many low areas
around here that hold water those pools aren't a big deal.. Have you
ever thought about taking up knitting??
|
|
| 31 |
Larry ruining your island? I think
not. Beware, I think you are. OK, you're not involved. You don't
know how one becomes president. Wow, sounds like you're batting a
thousand. Think you should be running things? I don't think so. Hard
work never killed anybody, but why take the chance? Larry, keep up
the good work, the ignorant know not what they say. "People with
courage and character always seem sinister to the rest." - Hermann
Hess

I couldn't agree more (fundraising). It
has gotten to the point of ridiculous. We are people,.........people
need our "funds" to. It's great to support animals. But let's not
forget our human animal friends in need. Pete's situation is exactly
the kind of fundraising event that makes perfect sense to support.
Pete is a kind, hard working local who was at the wrong place at the
wrong time. He needs our help,.....please support the fund raiser on
Sunday! You will feel good helping a fellow human animal you can
actually talk to!

| 30 | Ed:Tomorrow's Kudos will be published late in the day, cause I'm away. | |
| 30 | Larry Sullivan and his band of geriatric idiots need to get a life or take up a hobby! Why are they ALWAYS opposed to ANYTHING that goes on here. The Civic Association represents a minority of small minded individuals who'll be dead in a few years and who have way too much time on their hands while still breathing. I say lets all join the Civic Association and vote their asses out! Let's send them packing on their walkers! | |
|
BIG PINER'S BEWARE!!! The Big Pine Civic Association and Larry
Sullivan are ruining our island. He has only lived here a short
time and is opposed to every little thing here on the island. How
did he become head of the Big Pine Civic Association? We need to
get involved with our community and keep idiots like him from making
decisions for us.

| 30 | WHEN IS MOSQUITO CONTROL GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE %#*& SWIMMING POOLS AT THE LIGHT ON BIG PINE KEY???????? WILL YOU GET OFF YOUR ASS AND TAKE CARE OF THIS??????????????????????ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! | |
| 30 | DON'T WORRY IF YOU DON'T PRAY, I WILL PRAY FOR YOU. BELIEVE ME YOU NEED IT. PASS IT ON. | |
| 30 |
About Prayer. Yes, when you’re dead, you’re done (so let the good times roll—Ray Charles). Faith is not a reason to live. I agree that it would be easier, but some of us are forced to take total responsibility for our lives. Creation began thru evolution. |
|
|
Friday August 29 2003 |
To the one who never prays- do you think when our lives here on earth end, that is it? Some horrors make it hard to believe, I agree... but without faith- why even live? Where did creation begin? We did not create ourselves.

Don't
walk bare footed on big pine. Squashed bugs feel icky! |

Now that the whales are gone and all the
publicity is over, I'd like to see all the mess and damage done to
the old swimming hole cleaned up. I only hope that is part of the
overall plan after saving these whales. I can't believe all the B.S.
that went along with the fundraising like collecting donations from
businesses for an after release party. Everybody who lives here
knows the people who party here on Big Pine may not have food or a
real place to live but they always have plenty of money for
partying. Let's keep the fundraising for those who really need it.
We are starting to use the idea of fundraising the wrong way. We
have to make sure we don't become too used to the idea of
fundraising where we become complacent to those who really need our
community's help, like Pete who has lived here for over 20 years
and who was beat to within inches of his life. His fundraiser is on
Sunday. Much better to attend that than a fundraiser for a business.

Today in 1963 Martin Luther King delivered his "I have a dream speech". Powerful stuff.
| 28 | To that writer who thinks everyone prays when something horrible happens: I don’t pray even when I’ve faced death and the many times I’ve suffered personal tragedy. I don’t believe in myth. The outcome is always the same regardless. | |

When my son was 15 he loved home made
salsa.A locol guy brought us some every week. Now my son is 21 and a
mp in Iraq. That same local guy brought me a stack of island music cd
s to send. He gave me 3 conch republic flags.
If you watch the news and in the most
unlikly place you see our flag flying proudly thank C. W. Colt.
Thank you much for supporting our kids.

| 28 | While I was driving in my neighborhood, a child had stopped IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MAIN STREET, thrown his bookbag down in the street, and proceeded to tie his shoelace! He held up traffic. Anyone driving around the corner could have hit the child head-on! What on earth are you parents teaching your children? Play in the traffic? | |

Wednesday August 27 2003 |
To the person saying the Explorers and Cadets are little Nazi's? Where is your opinion coming from? Have you ever been to one or their meetings? That is one of the most off the wall statements I've ever read. The explorers and Cadets give the kids something FREE and fun to do. Helps build self confidence (something so many kids are lacking), teaches kids how to avoid harmful things like peer pressure and drug influences, and how to defend themselves against unwanted attention. It also teaches kids the benefits of community service. You who makes that statement about the Explorer program, are you one of the kids who couldn't cut it? What are you angry about? Or are you one of Big Pine's finest "got Beer and nothing else" population. How can anybody with even a semblance of brains think that empowering our children with knowledge and self worth is a bad thing. I wonder, Do you have children and where are they? Do you know or care?
| 27 |
How come they can put a man on the moon , but can’t make a proper Saran wrap dispenser for under the kitchen cupboards? |
|
| 27 | So people here help out some whales that are known as the Typhoid Mary's of the cetatous world (didn't you wonder why you couldn't go into the ocean for 24 hours after being with the whales). Now we loose a swimming hole we've used for many years. Is this really progress? | |
| 27 | Spencer (Spencer's Reef MM20) is/was and old guy years ago and drank a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if he passed on. I'm sure one of the Mangrove Mama's bar mops could answer that question. | |

| 26 | As predicted....on my morning walk I'm seeing piles of junk thrown into the woods, rather than paying Waste Management those new high hauling fees. As I said, the fees were increased due to Monroe County tacking on some tax or fee, for something really necessary I'm sure, like lunch or redecorating their offices or something like that. I suggest whenever you see junk in the woods that you drag it out to the COUNTY easement and call them to clean up THEIR mess. Just remember...for every action there's a reaction. | |

The only presidential candidate who has a good health care plan is Gephardt (even though I’d never trust an albino). He wants National Health Care-now. The Dems want to phase their plan in over time and only cover the uninsured. That means that savy employers will cancel their employees’ health care so they can be covered by the national plan which the Dems don’t have money to include. |

| 22 | Costa Rica and Canada are the only two countries I know of that don't have a national (food) dish. Example: USA=apple pie, hot dogs and hamburgers. i don't think you'd call Canadian bacon a national dish--it's just an ingredient. | |

If they’re re-calling Gray Davis for a 35 Billion deficit how come they don’t recall Bush for the 450 Billion? It just proves that Californians are a lot hipper than the rest of us. |

| 22 | I have to say, Canada keeps their country clean. No guns, no trash. The Canadian side of Niagara Falls is richly landscaped, with lush flowers, trees and scrubs. All those photos of the Falls you see are taken from the Canadian side. The US side has done nothing. You will find NO trash on the sidewalks, streets or ground in Canada. | |

A proud American, Mr. H.T. Pontin,
brought up an issue about his Constitutional Property Rights at the
BOCC meeting Wednesday and after they joked about it, they laughed
him right out of the room. I guess they showed him what Communist
think of his silly old obsolete U.S. Constitution.

I have a mother raccoon and her babies
living in my attic. We trapped the male and he's been
relocated. Recently the female chewed through hardware cloth (unbelieveable)
on the roof vent. Animal control says I have to capture the female
and the babies which is difficult given they only have one trap to
lend me. The babies are now about 10 inches long (for some reason
she had one out on the porch). Will the family move out on its own
eventually? I want them out so if anyone knows of a local pest
company that will do it please let me know. Thanks.

I bought a $30 backpack with wheels from K Mart and took it around the world over dirt roads, jungle mountains and through rivers and over rocks. The wheels held until I took it off the conveyor belt at the KW airport--that’s when a wheel fell off. That was the best $30 I ever spent. |

The Native Americans & Conchs were here before the US was bulging at the seams with illegals who suck the US benefits dry without paying a cent in taxes. Pay taxes or leave the US. I urge all readers to contact the Immigration & Naturalization Service to report all suspected illegals. |

No telling what creatures lie deep in the earth's water's. Instead of exploring the ocean (and purifying some of that saltwater for household use), funding has provided for space exploration instead. Not to mentioned the BILLION$ thrown at ego-maniac wars & third world countries without birth control.

The good news is that Idi Amin the brutal dictator of Uganda is finally dead. What an animal. He was never held accountable for killing over 300,000 people. He was exiled to Saudi Arabia (where else?). |

How about those rocks on Summerland Key? Do you think I could have one? They’ve been there long enough. Maybe two. |
|
| 18 | Some other countries may charge higher taxes, but those same countries do not allow millions of illegal immigrants live & work tax free either. When all the illegals have to pay taxes, that alone is enough to jump start a National Health Care system. The Bush boys welcomed all of Cuba and Mexico to move here and freeload, so when will these two illegal-immigrant-loving anti-American's be voted out of office? | |

These people have to be kidding with the Loch Ness monster. If there is one he must be over a hundred years old and very horny because there is no Mrs. Ness or someone would have seen the happy couple already. |

My wish for the New Year is for the South Park critters to get feet. |
|
| 17 | Australia also has National Health Care. The US could take a lesson & give healthcare for all US CITIZEN'S instead of just treating the third world foreigner's for free. | |
| 17 | Unfortunately the Canadian health care system has it's flaws. Both doctors, who've billed the govt. for patients they never had and everyone with a hang nail or headache overburdening the system have left it in a bit of a sorry state. Now you're put on a waiting list for surgery unless it's life threatening...right this minute. I had a friend who had to wait 5 months for a triple bypass and kept herself alive on Nitro pills. It does beat the fact that she'd either die in the street here or have to sign her house over to the gov't. for the privilege of them saving her life. So yes something would be better than nothing. | |
| 17 | Canada is not a greater nation than the U.S. but it is as great a nation as any other. Our healthcare system, for it's many flaws is the envy of many, including our neighbours to the south. It is surprising the most powerful and wealthy nation on the face of the globe would allow its citizens health and well being to be ruled by the insurance cartel. But remember we in Canada pay increased taxes for this benefit but it's well worth the cost. | |
|
Saturday August 16 2003 |
Is Canada a greater nation than the US? They put their citizens first by giving them National Health Care. |

Jeez, another bombing here and there by Islamic fundamentalist. What do they want us to do? Do they even know? |

| 15 |
So does anyone recall that the joke of a fundraiser for Montego
Bay?, It was suppose to be going to the families, that meant to all
involved! well the only person who got it was ED!!!! God sometimes
this community makes NO sense! And I'd also like to know WHY habitat
for humanity is helping???? They need to get their shit together and
get all those families in their homes before they start helping a
poor ass, NASTY, restaurant like Montego bay. And the thought of the
rotary sending out bank envelopes to people for direct deposit into
Ed's bank account is preposterous!! Come on The only thing I recall
Montego Bay doing for the community was ONE fundraiser back in 99.
So what about the people who lost their apartments next to Montego
Bay, Did the Chamber or rotary help them????? Oh! probably not, they
weren't parting with you to earn your help!! Come On Big Pine!! It's
o.k. to ask questions!

| 14 | I have a prediction..... We are going to see lots of dumping of yard waste on vacant lots in the future! I just called to get a price to pick up a load of yard waste and it has now jumped to $275.00. It was $55.00 a year ago and then jumped to $105.00 now $275.00. This is the last load they get me to pay for! Like our garbage fees aren't high enough now our illustrious county government has added a huge surcharge to waste managements already lofty fee. It's robbery AGAIN!!!!! | |
| 14 | To the person wondering what to do about their 14 year old cat's loneliness during the spouses absence. A simple solution might be to place a small piece of lead in the cats left ear. This can easily be accomplished by putting a large revolver to its right ear and pulling the trigger. | |

I've
noticed that all the rage these days are website awards. When
looking at them, they all seem to want you to send them money so
they can honor you so I've created my own and am awarding your
website the prestigious honor and it's free. Attached is your award
to post on your site.
Congratulations on a job well done. I talk to many people these days
who go to your site.

To the person responding to the homosexual nonsense, and labeling it

|
| 13 | you might be a redneck if you watch truck towing competition on espn! | |

Tuesday August 12 2003 |
I was watching an ESPN towing competition and this red-necked truck driver couldn’t even pronounce “truck”. He said “trook” (like crook). Amazing.

| 12 | Why waste time & money buying a book on homosexual disorders when an entire gay community is available for explanation? To respond with obvious hostility shows the very hate I questioned. And no, straight people do not all know a gay man enjoys being "male". | |

$55,000,000.00 is the amount the Boston Catholic Co. is going to pay abused people. Where does all this money come from? That’s right, the faithful little old ladies and poor people who give all they can to the church. How unholy. |

to the person asking why gay people hate women, Is that ONE gay
person you know??? because I know several gay people and they love
women, and as for gay people wanting to be women!! Let me explain
since you seem to need help, Gay, means liking the same sex so a gay
man likes being a man having relations with another man. So if
you've met a person who hates women and wants to be a women, DON"T
label them as gay!!! My question to you is why are you soooooo
interested to take the time and put it on this website??? Go get a
book!

| 10 | To the person opposed to the Montego Bay Fund raiser.......I'm with you, the food was the absolute worst! There are lots of people hurting more than the owners and I think their plight should be supported. Maybe if it's rebuilt they'll hire someone who knows how to cook...a novel idea!!! | |

Bigotry? What do tax-evading freeloaders have to do with bigotry? PAY US TAXES OR LEAVE. |

To the ignorant person who wrote in on the black and the NAACP, What
the hell does that have to do with our community???! Guess what
buddy this is 2003 being a prejudice jerk is out. I'm a white
business owner here on Big Pine, and I support diversity along with
MANY others in our community. Cultures don't always blame things on
race but there is still ignorance like you who waste five minutes of
your life putting things like that on a community website.
SUGGESTION... move to the hills because diversity is here and its
going to stay!

Saturday August 9, 2003 |
It's a sad day when the community comes together to support a
fundraiser that helps a really bad restaurant like Montego Bay. The
food was lousy. Even some Rotary members that met for their weekly
meeting, didn't eat the food. Why didn't anyone have a fundraiser
for the people that worked at Monte's when they lost all their jobs
because the owner had no loyalty to them after many years of
service? Why didn't those same people who supported the fund-raiser
for Montego Bay, show up and help the people who lost their HOMES
(they lost family pictures, clothes, toys personal affects and a
place to sleep) and donate to their cause? Those people lost more
than poor old Ed!!

I got caught by K.W. code enforcement yesterday violating about a million codes and the agent, Mr. April, couldn’t have been nicer. He’s given me enough time to comply. I wish the county agents were as understanding and reasonable. |

Friday August 8 2003 |
I read in the paper that they’re planning on making US-1 thru Big Pine into 3 lanes. Didn’t they just re-do that road last year? Whose dollars are they spending? Is this job security for the asphalt company, or what? |

Stop using your heritage (native American or Conch) to bash others. Who cares where you’re from? That’s not an excuse for intolerance and bigotry. |

The City of Marathon is such a backwater place they don’t even have a sign pointing to their own city Marina. If you don’t know how to get there—you don’t go. Clue: turn Oceanside on 36th St. |

Attention Afro-Americans. Don’t commit suicide by hanging yourself. Did you see all the turmoil caused by that unfortunate soul in Florida who hung himself? There were rumors of lynching and the NAACP had to step in to order an inquest to prove that he hung himself. His family even said his hands were tied. Come to find out he was super drunk (blood-alcohol .334%) and a video showed his hands were hanging (pardon the pun) loosely by his side. |

1. VW Beetle- It was too expensive for
VW to make the series 1 "real" Beetle comply with USA emissions and
safety standards.
People wouldn't pay more for a "Beetle"
than a Buick, because the Beetle was percieved as an economy car. So
Germany started working on their water cooled cars with front wheel
drive more performance and even better economy. Rather forward
thinking actually. VW would be out of business now if they stuck
with yesterday's seies 1 technology at today's prices. I had ten
real Beetles,.....I wish I lived here then so I wouldn't mind not
having HEAT!!

VW Beatle. There was no market in the US for the bug and the major market in Maxico was as Taxi cabs, but when the new anti-kidnapping law went into effect this year it said that all public taxis had to be 4-doors to allow passengers to exit when they wanted. That made the 2-door bug obsolete. |

HEY MOSQUITO
CONTROL, LET'S DO SOMETHING WITH THE SWIMMING POOL'S SITTING ON BIG PINE AT THE LIGHT. WE ALL HAVE BEEN DRILLED ON HOW TO RAISE MOSQUITO'S AND THEY SEEM TO BE DOING A VERY GOOD JOB OF IT. I WAS IN THE AREA TODAY AND YESTERDAY AND LAST WEEK. THE NASTY RAIN WATER IS GETTING DEEPER AND DEEPER WITH EACH AND EVERY RAIN. I am with the Native American. We are
americans and we cannot understand the jibberish they are spouting
out. They're probably saying were just American Idiots. If you live
here you need to speak english. Ever ask a Spanish clerk at Winn
Dixie a Question and they look at you like you have two heads...Some
speak english and still won't help you, That would make them have to
do something..

how happy you could be! Life is too short to be concerned with other

The last VW Beetle was made this week in Mexico. I remember when they were all the rage in the late 60’s. All the cool people had them. Every time you’d see another one you’d toot your horn to each other. Beep, beep! |

Yep,,,, I am getting sick of hearing
about soldiers getting killed everyday in Iraq. My son is there,
he's a Big Pine kid..I watch the news for him. Sometimes I see His

there?

Pet peeve No.17. People who drive their boat with the Diver Down flag up. Does that mean that they have a diver down while they’re cruising at 30 knots? The flag is not a decoration. It means that you have a diver down. I see boats docked at the marina with the flag up and there‘s no one around. The guy must just think it looks cool or something. |

This is a
first people praising code enforcement, unfortunately code enforcement
is always used by an angry neighbor to get even, for what ever bothers them our local property association keeps Karen extremely busy with nonsense I'm living here 13 yrs and never had code enforcement on my road until the newly formed property association made Karen bass there personal vendetta agent. |
|
| 1 | Hmmm...pro code enforcement...is that you Dayton? It's not the code enforcement that's so bad it's the hypocrisy! The very same code officers are trying to do work at their own places or county buildings without benefit of permitting and then busting others for doing the same. Also if they made the system just a little more user friendly maybe more people would comply, but that's not the game around here. They want to make it uncomfortable so you won't want to build. By the way.. make sure you don't have the kid next door mow your lawn, unless he's a licensed contractor that is. We wouldn't want you to do anything illegal. | |

Isn’t anyone else getting fed-up with an American soldier getting killed every day in Iraq? Bush said today that security is getting better there....duh. |

I have lived here for over 2 years now.
I have not had any problems with any county workers. From code
enforcement (nancy dowling) to the county sheriff who helped when my
wife was in an accident,...they were top notch. Courteous and
helpful. I bought a house with lower enclosure issues. Nancy Dowling
is being just great with helping me get it in compliance. And guess
what that DIDN'T require a payoff, just a little respect for the
RULES!!!!
|
|
| 31 | We need code enforcement. Without them what use would rules be? This place would look like Miami. The only time I had trouble with them was when I did something wrong. If you get caught--take the pain! | |
| 31 | There was a newscaster on NPR with an accent. Newscasters should not have an accent. Many foreigners learn English from listening to American news. The news is the last place to find proper English spoken in our world today. Is nothing sacred? | |

Word processor software needs another two keys. One with a period that is half way up the font that can be used to put in between words instead of a dash; and another key to cross out a word and still leave the word in the text. That would be good to express humor and wit by an implied mistake. |

Oh yeah, Ms. Karen Bass puts a red tag on your house for building a fence without a permit. Maybe if you Big Pine Jerks would do the right thing in the first place you wouldn't have your fence torn down, or you wouldn't have thousands of dollars to pay in fines. All I can say is stop your Bitching and do the right thing in the first place.

How come Clinton was so persecuted because he saluted incorrectly and Bush isn’t? Did you ever notice Bush’s salute? It’s a two part affair. The correct way to salute is to bring the hand smartly down to your side. There’s no jerking the hand off the forehead and then bringing it down. |

| 26 | I have lived on Big Pine Key for 23 years. Yes, 23 years. and I LOVE IT HERE!!! I think all you folks who have so many complaints about Big Pine could easily find another place to live and then all of us that live here actually enjoying all that life on Big Pine brings, could remember what it was like before the rest of the world found Big Pine. It sure would be a whole lot quieter. My kids were born here. My son actually can find something to do every day that doesn't include drugs or alcohol. He dives every day that the weather allows. I am always amazed how many people live here that don't like the ocean or hot weather. WHY ARE YOU HERE? This is an amazing place. We have nature here like no where else in the USA. We have clean air. cleaner water than anywhere else along the shoreline. We have always had a live and let live attitude here. and it should remain so for many years to come. Remember, isn't that why so many of you moved here? Yes we have characters here also. But all great places have lot's of local color. It's all part of the glory of Big Pine Key. May it keep on for many years to come!!! | |

Winn-Dixie
fishing Tournament in parking lot--Ron |
|
| 25 | The sun wind block Karen cited was on the legal tiki behind the Moose Lodge - it was wooden lattice nailed on the up rights on the south and west sides. The 2 that the county did are at Blue Heron park on Litton's way. They put chain link fenceing around the bottom of the main building and around an auxillary tiki that sits near the main building. The Moose was cited because the lattice could collect debris during a storm if water got that high, how ever the wooden lattice would have broken away before holding much debris. The chain link the county used will collect the same debris but would never break away, the buildings would come down first. The county installed the chain link with out a permit, they need a permit the same as the rest of us. | |

the one installed by the County....where, when etc. Also any other
stories regarding her escapades, injustices. Thanks all!

| 24 | FloridaSmokers.com will be perfectly clear: we only want to have our own SEPARATE section. We respect non-smokers rights to clean air. We want walls, glass, partitions and separate A/C units. The old imaginary line between ums and non was ridiculous! We want to come back, because our motto is "If you can't smoke em, don't go". UMmmmmm....? | |
| 24 | As far as the rental problem goes, there are ways to get around this like everything else. If you have a good relationship with the neighbors, they will tolerate most anything. My house is never empty, either with renters or friends staying. However I have rules, as in no music after certain hours, no children, and no more people than the number of beds. If you act like an a-- ----, you will never return, and this goes for respecting the fishing rules too | |

my neighbor
bought a house nearby and turned it into a vacation rental 12 yrs ago this house was a sore spot on our road they worked hard and turned it into a lovely home there vacation renters were most respectful.. unfortunately they no longer can rent short term because of the vacation rental ban. well now they have the yearly renters the people who are part of our community who are supposed., to care about there neighborhood there house now looks like a vehicle rental lot the people who live there are very disrespectful towards the property, the renters are professional people,( I'm only stating this fact because most of you will think they are probably low income status) is it so difficult to keep a place a nice as you found it and be thankful for a decent place to live. the owners are extremely nice people and I'm afraid these people have taken advantage of there kindness |

| 22 | I hear that you can still get the best smoked fish dip on the island at Montego Bay... | |
| 22 | If anyone wants to make a soup base, or what is otherwise called "stock" do this: sautee chopped celery, carrot and onion in real butter; this is the magic French "mirepoix". Do not brown! Here are seasoning combos because space here is limited: garlic is universal. with chicken use thyme and a little bay. With seafood use garlic, thyme, and pinches of oregano and basil. Beef, use pinch thyme, mostly S & P. "Badia" seasonal is great in all. Do not use cilantro!! Use the cooked or broiled bones of beef or chicken, but fish is different. After the mirepoix has sauteed, add the cooked beef or chicken bones, cover with water, season and simmer. The longer it cooks, the more it reduces (less liquid). If you reduce this long enough, the liquid is called a "glace" after it is strained. Seafood is a different story and for pointers tune in next week if anyone is interested. Luv ya | |
|
Monday July 21, 2003 |
When making a stock as in cooking it’s best to start with a cold pan because you want as much flavor to get out of the ingredients and into the stock as possible. If you start with a hot pan the, let’s say, garlic, fish or meat will seer and hold in much of it’s flavor. You want all the flavor you can get into the stock. |

| 21 | That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say anything good about their contractors. | |
| 21 | You are right, gyms are for working out and smoking is deservedly outside. Just give the bars where non smokers never WENT a break! BYW, if everyone thinks smoke is such a big bad thing, try nutra sweet. It is a neurotoxin, and it kills those horrible little ants we all hate. Listen to Jay on AM 790 every morning at 9 to learn how to be healthier. Prescription drugs, white sugar and flour, plus stress are killing all of you more than any second hand smoke ever did. You have been duped by the media. Drunken drivers are to blame, too but stupid drivers account for more than 60% of accidents. Please do the speed limit or at least 5 MPH above, because if not, some impatient moron is going to pass you and plow head on into some innocent soul instead. Have a nice day:) | |

I’ve re-read all the kudos regarding racial issues and if your, at least, objective you’ll find they aren’t racist. The problem is that the topic cannot be openly discussed based on facts of perceptions if those facts or perceptions are negative. Thin-skinned is the term that comes to mind. |

You "piners" are a bunch of whiners. Get a life for Christ's sake. So Walgeeen's wants to open a store on Big Pine. Maybe a little competition is what Eckerds needs, because the management at that store leaves a lot to be desired. Also, I am a smoker, a responsible smoker. I don't light up around someone who isn't one and I don't throw my butts out of my car window, so please folks, give it a rest already. And another thing, this planet is getting smaller and smaller...we'd all better learn to live together and stop all this racist crap that I'm seeing a lot of on this website. Remember the rules.. "Don't be hurtful."

Many nights spent having fun, making friends and getting blitzed. My

The Big Pine gym is advertising for strippers, yes strippers! The owner wants to have them walk around the place while the Steroid Monsters work out. I guess all those Steroids make all but one muscle big huh? Now all the children can not only get their drugs there but also a lesson in anatomy.

The smokers just don't get it. What gives you the right to force you stinking smoke on me and destroy my health? The vote was almost 70% for the smoking band. So you smokers don't come out to eat or drink, 70% of us don't care. Stay home and smoke yourself to death.

Why are the residents on Big pine Key
complaining about Walgreens Drug Store for opening a store on your

people you voted for to represent you? The BOCC is a Communist
Dictator Government that can do anything they want too. If they can
put everybody's life on hold for years at a time and control every
aspect of your life, then they could have stop Walgreens. I say this
in the nicest way it can be said.

She can give you a citation on anything she wants and you're not innocent until proven guilty, rather guilty until proven innocent. Code enforcement is bad enough, but an official that's a hypocrite is the worst crime against the community. Too bad no one knows where she lives!!!
