Fall of 2002

12/17/02 Does anyone know when Kwanza is? Thank you.
12/23/02 This is about the deer overpass. Are they using it or waiting for another 3 mil for someone to teach them how to use it?
12/23/02 It will be a good xmas not to have the thru island road going by my house.
12/24/02 What ever happened to Omar Kadaffi of Libya? Remember him? Did the U.S. bombing of his son get his attention to stop terrorism?
12/23/02 Merry Christmas to all. What a happy feeling.
12/23/02 Why do guys rush it when, if they'd only wait a few hours, they could be satisfied. All a girl wants is a good time.
12/21/02 What happened to Kwanzaa? Was it just a flash in the pan from last year. I only heard someone on the tube yesterday mention it.
12/21/02 I remember about twenty years ago when Lyle the Castrator organized a sleigh ride thru BP. He hooked up his back hoe to its' flat bed trailer and filled it with hay and invited everyone from the old Dockside Bar to come along. What a good time. Some guy showed up with a guitar and played Christmas carols and we all sang and there were lots of pretty ladies there to make the singing more fun. Ho,ho.ho!
12/19/02 The people at the Post Office sure are cheerful and friendly. It makes the trip there alright.
Bicyclist. Please look before you breeze thru an intersection.
12/17/02 Who's training the deer to go under the deer overpass?
When are they going to fix the hole in front of the ball field.
12/10/2 If we're evolved from monkeys and apes; how come they're still monkeys and apes?
12/9/2 I'm always amazed at the things that come naturally to a women, like, knowing the proper way to fold different things like t-shirts and towels. The most amazing thing, though, is taking off their bras without removing their shirts!
12/9/02 Driving from KW last night and getting onto PBK was like driving onto the mainland with the new paving and all those little reflectors all over the road.
12/8/2 Re: Habitat for Humanity. Let me get this straight. If I dig a shallow hole on my land and stuff grows there--I can't dig it out latter? Wouldn't that be an artificial wetland that I created and have no effect on the actual wetlands of the Island?
12/8/02 If you can buy a surface to air missile in Somalia for $2000 why doesn't the USA go around the world and buy them all? We're offering $20 mil for Bin Laden. I think that money would be of better use getting weapons off the black market.
12/7/02 Remember Pearl Harbor!
12/5/02 They're sending another Aircraft Carrier battle group to the Persian Gulf. One sailor called it 100,000 tons of diplomacy.
12/5/2 Strom Thurmond is retiring from the US Senate today on his 100th birthday.
I say good riddance to bad rubbish as he was the jerk who filibustered for over 24 hours to block passage of the civil rights bill.
12/4/02 The decorations on Century 21 are very nice. I didn't think the new owners would keep up the tradition. I'm glad they did.
12/4/2 I just wanted to say that I like the new street going thru BP it's soo smooth--Keep continuing it all the way to KW.
12/4/02 This is in reply to that odd person (11/30)  who wants to bring back religious persecution. It's not the religion, but the devotees who take it to extremes.
12/1/02 Some thin-skinned clown named Arnold G. Konheim from Washington D.C. is  trying to change the name of Jew Fish Creek to Goliath Creek. Yankee go home!
11/30/02 That dip in the road in front of the ball field is like a short rollercoaster ride.WheeeEEee!
11/31/2 I try to be tolerant of religions peoples' belief in the concept of "faith", but I think it's time to bring back religious persecution. They had it right 2000 years ago. We wouldn't be in this fix we're in now.
11/29/02 The Governor of New York, The Earl of Belomont, authorized the first official Thanksgiving Day to be on Thursday the 23d of November, 1699. Until that time Thanksgiving was celebrated on many different days and dates.
Nov. 25, 2002 Muslims are the only religious people that promote the  murder of innocents. It's up to all Muslims to prove me wrong. Christian fundamentalists are just as wacky, but only a few renegades ever resort to violence.
Nov 24, 2002 Why didn't they put a center turn lane the entire length of the island?
Nov 22,2002 John Kennedy was shot today--Doesn't anyone remember?
Nov 16, 2002 Someone's going to get killed with the parking in front of the ball field. People change lanes into oncoming traffic to avoid the parked cars.
Oct 30, 2002 Yea! The library is doubling in size. I love the Library. Yeah!
Oct 30, 2002 I just received notice "they" were going to inspect my downstairs enclosure.
1. I have to drive to Stock Island or Marathon
2. Go to the Building Dept.
3. Fill out paperwork.
4. Pay $50 for someone to come and do something I don't want them to do.
Sept 29, 2002 Why do they pick up the garbage so early in the morning? Is it to wake up the entire Island? Why don't they start at 7AM. In KW, they start early to avoid traffic congestion, but here we don't have any congestion. Let's wake up Waste Management--not us.
Sept 28, 2002 Someone is going to get hurt because of the perpendicular parking in front of Watson Field. Some of the cars stick out in the road. Cars going by go over the center line to avoid the parked cars. Someday there will be a head-on because of that. They should only parallel park there. I called the Sheriff, but got the run around.
